Furthermore, professional photographers who use multiple cameras to cover the same event use A Better Finder Attributes to compensate for discrepancies in the internal clocks of their cameras.

A Better Finder Attributes can be used as a stand-alone application or straight from the Finder using either the contextual menu or a hot key. It can be integrated into existing workflows by creating droplets which automatically apply their stored settings. GLSL, OpenGL Shader Language, is a GPU programming language used by most modern portable devices and new technologies such as WebGL.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida - kode80 LLC today is pleased to announce the release of GLSL Studio, the first full featured Open GL programming environment for iOS. GLSL Studio brings serious GPU programming abilities to iOS allowing graphics coders to work on the go and filling a gap in the App Store productivity library.

GLSL (OpenGL Shader Language) is a GPU programming language used by most modern portable devices and new technologies such as WebGL. GLSL programs are run directly on the graphics hardware allowing full control over how geometry and pixels are processed. GLSL Studio not only enables the creation, editing and compilation of shader programs but also exposes device capabilities such as multi-touch and live video streaming to them allowing for things such as realtime video filters to be created.

Aimed at both novice and expert developers alike, GLSL Studio provides a safe and easy environment for experimenting with GPU programs requiring nothing more than an iOS device. Various example programs ranging in complexity are included giving new programmers lots of material to learn from and expert programmers a starting point for their own programs. GLSL programs can be used directly in applications on any platform that supports OpenGL ES 2.0 and GLSL Studio allows exporting via iTunes File Sharing and email attachment so work done on the road can easily be integrated into a main project.

Initially intended for release mid-December last year, GLSL Studio was delayed due to App review issues surrounding programming apps. Apple is rightfully cautious about programming Apps in the store due to their ability to run unapproved code. I'm really happy that we were able to work it out and GLSL Studio is now available unchanged. The purchasing of squares can be enhanced with a field for the sheet maker to describe the cost of entry, as well as the prize structure. Sheet makers can password-protect the sheet to prevent unwanted changes from participants.

When the child touches a picture, they hear the corresponding word aloud. Kids must correctly drag the picture to the letter, matching the first letter of the word to the letter displayed, e.g., if the letter "D" is displayed, they must drag three pictures of objects starting with the letter "D" into the three boxes beside the "D."

Minneapolis, Minnesota - Preschool University today is pleased to introduce ABC MAGIC 4 v1.0 free for iOS, their 17th free Education app, which provides practice in matching the first sound of words with letters. When the child touches a picture, they hear the corresponding word aloud, and when they touch a letter, they hear its most common sound. Kids must drag the correct picture to the right letter, matching the first letter of the word to the letter displayed. For example, if the letter "D" is displayed, they must drag three pictures of objects starting with the letter "D" into the three boxes beside the "D." Mastery of the alphabet is a prerequisite for success in reading and writing, and ABC MAGIC 4 provides valuable practice toward that mastery.

ABC MAGIC 4 - Sound Matching is an ideal app for preschoolers. The goal of the app is to correctly drag matching pictures into the three empty squares beside each letter. There are three Levels of play: 1 Letter (3 matching objects from 6 pictures), 2 Letters (3+3=6 matching objects from 10 pictures), and 3 Letters (3+3+3=9 matching objects from 12 pictures). It provides entertaining practice in matching the first letter of a spoken word with the correct written letter. The result of such practice is that children come to realize, intuitively, that the spoken word "Dog" is a "D" word, "Ball" is a "B" word, etc. In playing with the app, kids are unaware that they are traversing several cognitive steps, as they match spoken or illustrated words with written letters.

Of several cognitive steps, the first may be touching each letter, e.g., "B"-"C"-"D," to hear its sound. This reinforces the idea that each of the alphabet's 26 letters has a name, and each has a sound or phoneme it produces. Second, may be touching each of the 12 pictures and hearing aloud the sound or signifier of each photographed object. This reinforces the idea of equivalency between the picture, its signifier as spoken, and its signifier as written. The child develops a firm understanding of language as a tool to represent things that are concrete or abstract, a tool that works the same way whether it is spoken/heard or written/read. The third cognitive step may be dragging a picture to an empty square. In the process of dragging it must be touched, and so the child hears the object's sound again as it is moved. Placed correctly, it stays in the square, and placed incorrectly, it returns to the collection of pictures. There are no points, timers, or rewards upon completion.
Completely non-competitive, the child is gently prompted to proceed to the next puzzle.

As with all the educational apps from Preschool University, ABC MAGIC 4 is well conceived pedagogically, and equally well realized as an interactive, touch sensitive app. The photographs are all colorful and easy to identify, and even some unusual objects are included like "kiwi" or "dandelion." Unlike most other educational apps of this kind, the designers have used young children's voices to identify each object, and there are six different voices heard, three male and three female. This, in addition to many other small details, helps contribute to the usability and effectiveness of the app when put into the hands of preschoolers.

Even with the app closed, or the iPad locked, users can see the latest rates of their selected currency pairs. The app provides real-time updates for both traders and individuals.

Because there are many good reasons to track currency rates besides investing, iCurrency Plus has been designed to provide real-time information for both individuals and investors. Whether users are following a particular currency pair in anticipation of an upcoming trip, getting the best rate possible for this month shipment abroad, or tracking long-term trends as part of portfolio management, the app supplies immediate, authoritative numbers that are easy to access anytime, anywhere.

With the latest update of iCurrency Plus for iPad, users can set up two different types of notifications. Selecting "Show Price in Notification Area" allows users to get up to date information on the currency rate changes in the Notification Center, no matter what the currency rate is. Alternatively, selecting "Performance Notifications" sends recipients notifications about a change of a rate when its performance has decreased or increased more than a pre-defined percentage over a period of time.

Thanks to the new way that iOS 5.0 treats notifications, users can even get the latest rates on the currencies of their choice on the Lock Screen of their devices. The first notification displayed after the phone is locked comes up as a bubble with the notification message. Should the user receive many notifications, they are displayed in a scrolling list on the Lock Screen. In both cases, sliding the icon on the notification from left to right opens the app where additional charts and details can be viewed.

In addition, notifications received while working in another app are displayed at the top of the screen. Users can continue to receive messages as each notification rolls over to display a new one. Recent updates can be accessed directly from the Notification Center by touching the top of the screen and swiping down while using any other app. Chosen rates are displayed, as well as other important notifications.

Finally, iCurrency Plus for iPad includes an integrated Currency Calculator function to instantly convert any amount of one currency into another. Five different colored lights beside each currency pair instantly indicate the status of any notifications. And daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly graphs are all available on the same screen.

On othergreatgames website developers can - from now on - become part of the system and get their games being showcased within hundreds of other games just for free.

By setting up an additional "other great games" screen within their game app, up to 6 different games are shown to the player who might download them from the iTunes-Store right away. For displaying these games, the developer receives credits for displaying his own games within others in exchange.

To enlarge the reach furthermore, the system work with a multiplier in display-credits, so that for 1 player seeing the screen, the developer gets his game being seen by 4 players of other games.

There's no "spam-like"-thing whatsoever, and the "other-great-games"-screen is not popping up annoying the players. The player has to choose to tap on an extra button to see the screen, whenever he likes to.

Developers can now register on othergreatgames website and be part during a beta-stage of the tool, taking advantage of the global reach of it to help promote their game-apps at no extra cost.
