Subject: [the_ipod_group] can not transfer music from my 3rd generation ipod to my hard drive

I have had an external hard drive crash and now need to download the music from my iPod to my new hard drive. I have over 5,000 songs so there is no easier way than to copy the files. When doing this by drag and dropping in Windows I get the message: "can not copy [file]: The parameter is incorrect". I am running XP with the disc formatted in NTFS. I have tried to copy the ipod_control\music\files in DOS and can not copy any of the files. How do I do this?

Thanks for any help!

Newbie wonders about battery life!

Well I really like my iPod Touch 4th but I was wondering if I'm getting the battery life I should.
I know Video takes a lot of juice to play, but should I TOTALLY discharge(no innuendo intended) after playing 1 NETFIX video.
Also, should I charge on newer MAC versus older?
I do have iMap turned off to save power and only activate for directions and local info.
Thanks for any help!
