Sharing ideas is difficult when the audience cannot be engaged in real-time. Key elements of the message are left out if silent presentation slides are distributed, while lengthy reports do not capture the crux of the idea succinctly. Splicesr solves this problem by allowing the user to quickly create compelling, bite sized audio-visual presentations that can be replayed through any web browser on any device.
With Splicesr, the user can record a voice-over narrative while paging through and marking-up any content on the iPhone or iPad. Images, slides, documents and a virtual whiteboard can all be spliced together seamlessly with a verbal explanation. Once the user has captured his or her thoughts, a link to the presentation can be shared through email or other messaging apps. The presentation can also be easily posted to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter or embedded into blogs and websites.

"Unlike alternative custom keyboard players that came from Android, from the start we considered iOS as our main environment and had done our best to enhance native iOS feeling for users of our extension. We think that typing experience in the iPhone is great and there is no need to replace the native keyboard," said Artem Pochepetsky, OftenType Founder. "But there are some ways to expand it and make a little better. OftenType can surely do this. The idea came up a year ago when I was researching apps. After signing in tones of apps I wished there was one button to insert e-mail. No news on 3rd party keyboards were available at that time. Then I went deeper in the topic and was sure that custom keyboards in iOS should be available to 8th or 9th update. I decided to take the risk investing my time and money in the development. And in Spring 2014 Apple announced keyboard extensions in iOS newest update."

Vancouver, Canada - Tactus Therapy Solutions, a trusted developer of apps for speech therapy rehabilitation, has just launched a brand new app called AlphaTopics. AlphaTopics is an augmentative communication (AAC) app aimed at people with slurred or unclear speech (dysarthria) and language difficulties (aphasia) from stroke, traumatic brain injury, ALS, Parkinson's disease, and cerebral palsy.
The app works by bringing an alphabet board and a topic board together in one application with all the benefits of technology: sound, visual feedback, adaptable settings, and portability. The speaker simply touches the topic they want to talk about, and then touches the first letter of each word they say. AlphaTopics lets the person with unclear speech speak naturally while giving the conversation partner enough context to understand better. With AlphaTopics, there's no more spelling out whole words or fixing typos. And, less waiting for the listener means the conversation keeps moving along.
Pointing to the first letter of each word not only gives the listener more information about the word, it also encourages the speaker to slow down and separate words, actually making each word clearer. Intelligibility of sentences is reported to improve 25% on average when using an alphabet board. Pointing to the topic before speaking narrows the range of possibilities for the listener, providing context. Studies show that using a topic cue increases word understanding by an average of 28%.
With AlphaTopics, the listener can hear the letters or topic selected. This means they can stay focused on the speaker and the conversation instead of staring at the device. Communication is faster and clearer using this simple speech supplementation strategy. Previously, people with speech difficulties had to rely on paper-based boards that easily became ratty and worn out. Now, with AlphaTopics, the functionality of both an alphabet board and a topic board are always available on an iPhone or iPad in one convenient and customizable app.
The features of the alphabet board include:
* 26 letters in alphabetical order or 2 variations of frequency order
* 10 single digits to express any number
* Vowels are highlighted and aligned for faster navigation
* Natural speech reads out the name of each letter, number, or word
* Yes, no, question, smiley, space, and backspace buttons

* Fully customizable text that can be can re-ordered
* Voice output with adjustable speech rate

AlphaTopics is an augmentative communication (AAC) app aimed at people with slurred or unclear speech (dysarthria) and language difficulties (aphasia) from stroke, traumatic brain injury, ALS, Parkinson's disease, and cerebral palsy.
The app works by bringing an alphabet board and a topic board together in one application with all the benefits of technology: sound, visual feedback, adaptable settings, and portability. The speaker simply touches the topic they want to talk about, and then touches the first letter of each word they say. AlphaTopics lets the person with unclear speech speak naturally while giving the conversation partner enough context to understand better. With AlphaTopics, there's no more spelling out whole words or fixing typos. And, less waiting for the listener means the conversation keeps moving along.
Pointing to the first letter of each word not only gives the listener more information about the word, it also encourages the speaker to slow down and separate words, actually making each word clearer. Intelligibility of sentences is reported to improve 25% on average when using an alphabet board. Pointing to the topic before speaking narrows the range of possibilities for the listener, providing context. Studies show that using a topic cue increases word understanding by an average of 28%.
With AlphaTopics, the listener can hear the letters or topic selected. This means they can stay focused on the speaker and the conversation instead of staring at the device. Communication is faster and clearer using this simple speech supplementation strategy. Previously, people with speech difficulties had to rely on paper-based boards that easily became ratty and worn out. Now, with AlphaTopics, the functionality of both an alphabet board and a topic board are always available on an iPhone or iPad in one convenient and customizable app.
The features of the alphabet board include:

* 10 single digits to express any number
* Vowels are highlighted and aligned for faster navigation
* Natural speech reads out the name of each letter, number, or word

* Voice output with adjustable speech rate
* Two sizes of grid to display 12 or 24 topics
* Pre-filled with functional topics for adults
Additional features include adjustable settings for visual, physical, language and cognitive impairments; a choice of four color schemes; and the option to pick which board comes up when the app starts.
AlphaTopics AAC was developed in a live event, with a blog chronicling each step of the process.

Seoul, Republic Of Korea - Yellephant is the newest participant of the Moms with Apps Know What's Inside(R) program, a part of ACT / The App Association. This program is dedicated to helping family-friendly app developers implement best practices around privacy and comply with new privacy rules including the new COPPA rules that took effect July 1st. The program provides developers with guidance on best practices, but requires each developer to implement those best practices in order to display the Know What's Inside(R) seal on their apps.

Member developers pledge to follow all applicable laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which went into effect on Monday, July 1, 2013. Members feature up-to-date privacy policies and disclosures within the App Stores, benefiting both developers and the children we serve by offering a central location for the community to find and promote apps that respect online privacy.
"Our community of developers are creating transformational apps that are improving the educational lives of children around the world," said Morgan Reed, executive director of the ACT / The App Association. "These developers are committed to maintaining trusted relationships with parents. Through the Know What's Inside(R) program, we provide children's app developers with tools and guidance to strengthen those relationships, while awarding a trusted seal for apps that meet our high standards."
"One of the biggest services Moms With Apps can provide for parents, and children, is to support a community of developers who value how to make apps with privacy, trust, and transparency in mind, and understand relevant regulations, " said Lorraine Akemann, founder of Moms with Apps.
MWA will establish the industry standards and best practices for transparency, regulatory compliance, and promotion within apps directed for children under the age of 13. The community will look for and develop tools to assist with targeted promotions of apps, crowd sourced beta testing, and other helpful tools for developers as technology continues to evolve.
Moms with Apps is the largest community of family friendly app developers in the world and a part of the ACT / The App Association.

What's All This Then?
Is email really broken? Or are we all just using email a little bit inefficiently? 91% of people we surveyed said that they put off replying to an email because the response would take too much time. Another 84% said they got frustrated having to wait for answers to simple emails. We're in that 84% for sure - so we built Dart.
It's Email But A Little Different
Dart lets you set predefined answers in your emails so the recipient just has to click a button to reply - no worrying about composing a message, less opportunity for procrastination and most importantly, totally unambiguous.
Right now, Dart is a Mac app that lives in your menu bar until you need it. You can either send a Dart message with answers you define, or if you really have to send a short message, switch to regular mode where we give you a whole 200 characters to help you get your message across.
Why Email?
You know what the world doesn't need? Another messaging service. Email is everywhere, and despite what people who make HTML emails for a living might argue - email clients use web standards - so anyone that can open an HTML email, can receive and reply to a Dart message. Yep, even Outlook users.
Restricting Verbosity
Having studied the kind of messages we often receive (and if we're honest, send too) a lot of the time the intent is to get a really simple answer to a question - quickly, but instead we end up firing off a lengthy missive full of ambiguity and unnecessary formality. Questions such as, which version of the design shall we use? Which restaurant shall we meet at? Will you be home in time for dinner? And important stuff like, what is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Happy Accidents
As we were developing and testing Dart, it occurred to us that not only is this a great way to engage with certain types of emails with a regular email client - but what about when you're on the move? either on your mobile device, wearable or perhaps even on your in-car UI. Because Dart messages require zero typing to respond, the potential for answering emails with a single tap is suddenly possible. The benefits are obvious from a convenience point of view, but also think about safety. You can now respond to a message whilst running, sitting at traffic lights or juggling armfuls of shopping.
Apple Watch and iOS
The iOS version of Dart is almost ready too. Featuring support for the forthcoming Apple Watch, and push notifications so you can answer messages right from your iPhone's or Apple Watch notification screen with a single tap. Expect a release in the next couple of weeks

Set forex news alarm to any iOS device easily with a single tap. fxNewsAlarm allows forex traders to be notified of key event market risks prior to any country news release.
News and currency traders who often missed the time release of specific news event can now receive the alarm and get informed prior to the news event. Unlike alternative financial apps that only show the economic news calendar, fxNewsAlarm takes notifications one step further by allowing alarm to be easily preset with these important events.
fxNewsAlarm gets the news event from forexfactory economic calendar and displays them in a list for iOS users to view. The list is sorted by their country of release and level of impact which range from low, medium to high. The app will get weekly news event from these countries: United States, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, China, Eurozone, United Kingdom, Japan and New Zealand. Users who wish to view the news event in greater detail can also get the following metadata:
* Date of release
* Time of release
* Country
* Impact
* Forecast data
* Previous data
Setting an alarm on the selected news event is as simple as tapping the ''Add'' button next to the news event name. Next, the alarm can be accessed or changed in the device's reminder app by launching the reminder app from the home screen. Go to the default fxNewsAlarm list and the added event item should be found. Click more to view or make changes to the alarm alert timing.
Added events are marked by a checkmark next to the news item in app. Removing the added item is as easy as swiping the row to the left and tap delete. The news item's alarm will be removed from the device. fxNewsAlarm is a must-have productivity alarm app for forex and news traders who need to be notified of key news events for the upcoming week. Now in two easy steps, users can set alarm by launching the app, locate the news event and tap add to set alarm.
