In this free game, the aim is to discover the word missing from a smart quote. Wise Words gone AWOL features educational gameplay and offers a relaxing word puzzle experience. Users will challenge themselves with more than 300 quotes written by the best philosophers and scientists of our time.
The quotes have been written by a wide range of authors that made history, from well-known scientists and philosophers, such as Albert Einstein, Confucius and Bertrand Russell, to famous writers like Paulo Coelho, Aesop, and Albert Camus. The player has to type the missing word that completes the quote using the jumbled letters, and try to work their way through all 30 levels of difficulty.
"Our aim was to create a simple but challenging game, where everyone can improve their cultural knowledge and spelling. Even the brainiest users can be challenged by this entertaining word puzzle game. And as always with our studio, the "Fun while smart" element needs to be present in the mix." said Dimitri Delattre, CEO of Deadpan Dodo.
Wise Words gone AWOL was designed and created using HybriD*, Deadpan Dodo's proprietary game engine, based on the lua SDK Corona from CoronaLabs. HybriD* supports all iOS devices, all Android devices, as well as all Kindle readers.

einstein's legacy today announced LightTable 2.0.1 for OS X. LightTable is an image cataloging application that lets users perform image comparisons and inspections on a virtual canvas. Users can move image items around just like actual prints on a physical light table. The 2.0.1 update features extensive internal re-engineering, adding more than 30 new GPU-image effects, canvas sharing, and a collection of new options for canvas automation.
Charlotte, North Carolina - einstein's legacy is pleased to announce LightTable 2.0.1 for OS X, an image cataloging application that lets users perform image comparisons and inspections on a virtual canvas. Users can move image items around just like actual prints on a physical light table. The 2.0.1 update features extensive internal re-engineering, adding more than 30 new GPU-image effects, canvas sharing, and a collection of new options for canvas automation.
"LightTable was re-engineered to be a better way for professional and amateur photographers to perform visual inspections and comparisons of images on a two dimensional surface," says einstein's legacy Chief Product Officer Douglas A. Welton. "We also added new image effects, canvas automation and sharing features that make LightTable a great tool for exploring 2D visual possibilities interactively."
LightTable 2.0.1 includes the following key features:
Image Effects:
* LightTable includes more than thirty new GPU-accelerated effects, such as edge burning, X-rays, motion blurring and vintage photo processing. Image Effects may be applied to any item on the Canvas. Also, the new Lift and Stamp functions let you copy effects settings between canvas items.
Better Canvas:
* New Zoom Controls make it easy to see the canvas at different levels of detail along with a summary of canvas size and magnification. Also, new Canvas Settings lets you control image sizing when placing items on the canvas.
Canvas Item Automation:
* LightTable now includes a Replicate Canvas Item function, which automates the process of building a matrix of images from a single item source. Each image can then be adjusted making visual inspections and comparisons much easier to accomplish.
Improved Layout Tools:
* Along with the new Auto Arrange feature, which does an automated layout of canvas items, images may be moved, resized and stretched; aligned relative to other images or the canvas itself; or stacked and re-stacked like photographs on a desktop.
Sharing:
* LightTable creates an image of the current Canvas and lets users share that image via e-mail, using popular internet services (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.) or with local applications like iPhoto or Aperture.
Slide Shows:
* LightTable dynamically creates a slide show from the Tray images in your project. Slide shows display full screen and can be navigated manually or as a timed (automatic) show.
Improved Export Tools:
* Exporting your canvas as a single image now produces a consistent image result across all export, sharing and print operations.
