Go to edit > preferences > advanced. Check the second box. click ok.
Minimize itunes. Create new folder on desktop. Open itunes and highlight
all songs. Drag songs to be folder created on desktop. Once all songs are
copies you can delete all songs from your library. Do this also for
audiobooks and movies.

Once all are copied you can drag all songs movies and audiobooks. Once all
are back into itunes you can remove the created folder o desktop.

The check box i said to check makes a exact duplicate for any item added to
itunes and it is place in itunes media folder that can be located in the
music folder found in the documents folder.

See Edit-Preferences-Advanced & check the "copy to iTunes" option.
You'll end up with two copies of everything unless you then delete from the
other spot. (there may be some things you may *want* in more than one
place.)
See also iTunes Help under Manage media files.

The music on my itunes library is scattered around my computer. Any
suggestions on how to make things in one folder hierarchy for backup?
