The update also adds support for user-defined graphic shapes, making it easy to incorporate custom photos and artwork.
"The new 3D perspective feature makes it easy to tilt captions, balloons, WHAMs, and BAMs to add more excitement and action," says Mike Swanson, Founder of Juicy Bits. "Best of all, if you export an image using Halftone 2's anaglyph format, you can put on a pair of red and cyan 3D glasses and see the shapes jump right out of the page."
With this update, users can also add their own custom stamp shapes to the app. Custom shapes can be loaded from photos or from PNG images that include transparency.
Halftone 2 makes it easy to create multi-page comic books by assembling photos from Facebook, Flickr, and the photo album. Users can add filters, customize page layouts, add speech and thought balloons, position captions, place some WHAMs, BAMs, and POWs, and share their creations with the world.
Other recent additions include a new set of licensed artwork from professional comic design firm, Blambot, the ability to copy projects using the iTunes file sharing feature, the return of the Aviary image cropping tool, a new cartoon-style image filter, a new "faceted" balloon style, three new page layouts, and localization to German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

Paris, France - Manomaya SAS today is pleased to announce the immediate availability of "iTunes Ratings & Comments," a free widget for Wordpress. This free plug-in allows users to display ratings and comments from the App Store directly on the user's Wordpress blog.
After developing their popular visual guitar teaching app, Coach Guitar 2.0 for iOS, Manomaya SAS developers wanted to display comments and ratings left by customers on iTunes. However, they were disappointed to discover there was no way to quickly and easily pull out comments and ratings about their app to display on their website. As a result, this Wordpress plug-in was developed to assist any developer to extend the functionality of their blog in marketing their app.
When activated, ratings and comments left directly on the app's page in the App Store can be displayed in real-time. Users can also display the star-ratings average left by customers about their app.
To access the plug-in, users can download the zipfile available on the Coach Guitar website. After unzipping the file, users can fill in the app ID and country code. To install, users should upload the whole folder into their directory and activate the extension. The widget can be added to the user's Wordpress blog sidebar or wherever they desire the information to be displayed. To activate the star-rating feature, users need to select the box that will add rich snippets to the page and show stars under Google results.

BattleSuit Runner Fitness for iOS: New Super-Immersive GPS Running Game - Published on 03/12/14

Cupertino, California - Anyone who has struggled to break away from a video game or movie to go workout has reason to rejoice in 2014: BattleSuit Runner Fitness, available for both iOS and Android, combines a GPS fitness trainer, story running, RPG elements, and choose- your-own adventure content that throw the player into the action as the story unfolds during each mission/workout while the player walks, jogs, or runs.
During BattleSuit Runner Fitness workouts, the player becomes DeltaSuit, an exosuit-donning commando who joins a team of BattleSuit Runners and other colorful characters that are humanity's last hope to defend against a rising alien invasion. The player can even use resources collected during workouts to customize and upgrade their battlesuit modules, leading to epic alien battles that unfold during each workout (with the player's music playlist setting the mood in the background).
While exercising, the player is prompted to change speed for a choose-your-own adventure effect, such as: "DeltaSuit, if you want to rescue the hostages, slow down for a few seconds. If you prefer to pursue the retreating hostiles instead, speed up for a few seconds..." The story and battles progress depending on the player's choice.
At certain points, the player will also be encouraged to sprint in order to activate their battlesuit's "supercharge mode" during a special "power song" interlude, the success or failure of which has its own profound effects on the storyline as well. This feature also allows for interval training integrated into the gameplay (intensity is adjustable).
The player's music playlist integrates seamlessly into the storyline as they walk, jog, or run to complete objectives, battle enemies, and even modify their speed when prompted to affect the story's outcome. Successful completion of the above goals allows the player to earn resources used to repair and upgrade their battlesuit in between workouts to increase its effectiveness in subsequent battles.
BattleSuit Runner Fitness also features remarkable sound effects and voice acting with an international cast of characters that rock the distinction between exercise and entertainment. Traditional GPS fitness app features, such as monitoring workout speed and distance, as well as social networking integration are all included in the app, as well as the ability to set the length and intensity of each workout. Most GPS fitness tracker apps may also be used together with BattleSuit Runner Fitness to allow the player to continue logging all workouts in one place, if so desired.

The Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its program America's Fund, are set up to provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. We direct urgently needed resources to post 9/11 service members, who meet our criteria for assistance, from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserves.
Up until now, BasketWars has been a self-funded project. The JABB team is nearing the end of both development and savings. They are turning to potential backers to get the word out. Getting a small influx of funding from Kickstarter would allow them to market the game after launch, provide content updates and port over to other platforms this year.

After a year and a half of development, the JABB team feels they have created a unique game that can truly stand out in the crowd. Founder of JABB, Jeremy Born said, "We feel the current state of the game market on the App Store is somewhat stale. Companies are recycling the same games and no one is trying to re-invent the wheel. By mixing several genres including sports, war, multiplayer, and strategy, we feel we have created something completely unique, and hopefully people will appreciate that."
In addition to attempting to make BasketWars a household name, the company is also dedicated to giving back. "Most game companies are concerned with one thing, making money. Here at JABB, we want to give back and make a difference in the lives of others," said head of Marketing and PR, Brandy Born. Because of this, JABB is in the process of partnering with the Semper Fi Fund, by giving a portion of game proceeds to this great cause. Founder, Jeremy Born stated, "This was a great match as our game has a military influence based on the battles of WWII. Giving back to our wounded warriors is a tremendous cause and is held close to our hearts."
The Semper Fi Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its program America's Fund, are set up to provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. We direct urgently needed resources to post 9/11 service members, who meet our criteria for assistance, from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Reserves.
Up until now, BasketWars has been a self-funded project. The JABB team is nearing the end of both development and savings. They are turning to potential backers to get the word out. Getting a small influx of funding from Kickstarter would allow them to market the game after launch, provide content updates and port over to other platforms this year.

Red Giant is releasing an unprecedented 50 new plug-ins at once. Portland, Oregon - Today, Red Giant, makers of Magic Bullet, Trapcode and PluralEyes, announced Red Giant Universe (public beta) - a community that gives members access to fast and powerful tools for editing, filmmaking, visual effects and motion design.
"It's rare we get to introduce technology that is entirely new," said Sean Safreed, Red Giant's co-founder and CTO who has been working with his team, behind the scenes, on Universe for the last year and a half. "Universe is an entirely new foundation for tools. It marries the simplicity of Javascript with the power of the GPU to deliver speedy renders and pixel-perfect results. Users are going to love how quickly we offer new plug-ins."
In total, Red Giant is releasing an unprecedented 50 new plug-ins at once - with more already in development. Every tool in the Universe library of effects and transitions is GPU-accelerated, both Mac and Windows compatible, and works across multiple host applications including: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Motion. The Universe library of tools is continuously growing - new effects and transitions are added regularly, and existing tools are updated often, based on user feedback.
In addition to the expanding library of plug-ins, Universe also offers Premium membership, which gives users access to even more tools - including new effects and transitions, as well as existing Red Giant favorites ported over to the new Universe platform (such as Knoll Light Factory EZ, Holomatrix, Retrograde and ToonIt). Portland based Red Giant today announces Red Giant Universe public beta, a community that gives members access to fast and powerful tools for editing, filmmaking, visual effects and motion design. Red Giant is releasing an unprecedented 50 new plug-ins at once. Every tool in the Universe library of effects and transitions is GPU-accelerated, both Mac and Windows compatible, and works across multiple host applications including: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Motion.
Portland, Oregon - Today, Red Giant, makers of Magic Bullet, Trapcode and PluralEyes, announced Red Giant Universe (public beta) - a community that gives members access to fast and powerful tools for editing, filmmaking, visual effects and motion design.
"It's rare we get to introduce technology that is entirely new," said Sean Safreed, Red Giant's co-founder and CTO who has been working with his team, behind the scenes, on Universe for the last year and a half. "Universe is an entirely new foundation for tools. It marries the simplicity of Javascript with the power of the GPU to deliver speedy renders and pixel-perfect results. Users are going to love how quickly we offer new plug-ins."
In total, Red Giant is releasing an unprecedented 50 new plug-ins at once - with more already in development. Every tool in the Universe library of effects and transitions is GPU-accelerated, both Mac and Windows compatible, and works across multiple host applications including: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Motion. The Universe library of tools is continuously growing - new effects and transitions are added regularly, and existing tools are updated often, based on user feedback.
In addition to the expanding library of plug-ins, Universe also offers Premium membership, which gives users access to even more tools - including new effects and transitions, as well as existing Red Giant favorites ported over to the new Universe platform (such as Knoll Light Factory EZ, Holomatrix, Retrograde and ToonIt). Premium membership is available through monthly and yearly subscription, as well as a one-time lifetime membership fee.
"I'm a motion graphics and visual effects artist, and definitely not a coder," said Aharon Rabinowitz, Red Giant's director of content and communities. "Even so, along with the Universe development team, folks like motion designer Harry Frank and I have been secretly cranking out plug-ins for the last few months. Our new development tools have made it surprisingly easy. I'm super excited that we can finally share the stuff we've been making."
What truly makes Universe unique, however, is its community aspects. Through Universe Labs, members get to help choose what effects and transitions Red Giant builds next, and premium members are eligible for invitations to early betas of new products, allowing users to give early feedback and actively help shape Universe's expansion over time.
