My iPod classic is no longer recognized by my laptop, hence cannot be updated by iTunes. I have tried but not succeeded in resetting the iPod by switching on and off the hold button then holding menu and the center of the click wheel at the same time. I can listen to what is already on it by plugging the USB into my car entertainment system, but cannot change what is on it. Help!!!

My sister has been having the same issue when she connects her 3 apple devices to her computer.

I have found that the most updated version of iTunes did not include "Apple Mobile Device Support" which allows iTunes to communicate with the devices.

Open control panel and navigate to Add/Remove Programs and check for that installed component. (That is of you have a windows PC) not sure how to check on a Mac Machine.

I have contacted apple regarding this and they have no solution for this issue with iTunes.

Ryan,

In mid January I purchased my first Mac - late 2012 iMac 27", 3.4 Ghz, 8 GB Memory. You advised me to listen to MacCast Podcast. Great advice, thanks. I'm loving the iMac and turning into a real geek. Listening several other Mac-oriented podcasts - Mac Geek Gab, NosillaCast, Mac Power Users, CultCast, MacBreak Weekly, and a few others.

Anyhow, thanks for the advice. If you have more suggestions for Mac resources, I'd love to hear them. I've been looking for current GarageBand specific podcasts but no luck so far.

I may have to join PMUG - Portland Mac Users Group!

Take care,
Gary
