Vestal, New York - Remoter Labs today is pleased to announce the release of Remoter1.0.0 for OS X Snow Leopard and Lion, a productivity app that enables users to remotely control Macs via Screen Sharing, and Windows or Linux computers using the VNC or RDP. The app uses Bonjour and NetBIOS to make setup a cinch. Sound redirection and easy setup, RDP, Telnet and SSH support are included.

The app offers one of the fastest implementations of the VNC and RDP protocols on the Mac platform. Operation is intuitive, with a well thought out interface.

When connecting to other Macs, setup is now ultra-simple with the RemoterFusion helper app. Port-forwarding and/or dynamic DNS is no longer needed in order to establish connections from outside the computer's network. This also provides sound redirection, which allows listening to music tracks, or any sound playing remotely on the computer.

Otherwise, local session set-up is still simple, all the computers from the WiFi network are found using both the Bonjour and NetBIOS standards. The user then clicks on the desired connection, and all queried information such as computer name, IP address, service port, and more auto-populates the set-up screen. The user then only needs to enter the VNC password to complete setup. A button labeled "Advanced" reveals many useful advanced options, like color depth, server scaling setting, compression level and more.

RDP is also included, allowing connections to Windows computers that include an RDP server (Remote Desktop Protocol). This allows connecting to these machines without having to install a server, as is the case with VNC.

The app also allows users to establish secure, SSH-tunneled, VNC or RDP connections to their computers. SSH support also gives users the ability of establishing terminal connections to any SSH server. Featuring full terminal control, including special keys such as Control, Alt, F1-F14. Terminal support implements font foreground and background color, a terminal buffer, and clicking. SSH authentication includes both passwords and private/public key support. A fully featured SSH Key manager allows users to create SSH keys using RSA or DSA. Passphrases can also be set, and independent SSH keys can be used for each SSH session.

The SSH feature also gives users the ability of create up to five TCP tunnels per connection. The tunnels can then be accessed while the app is in the background by any other app. Providing a VPN-like connection to the SSH server.

Telnet enables users to connect to server computers using the Telnet protocol. Like with SSH, the app provides full color support, a terminal buffer, and special keys.

Both the SSH and Telnet features allow for selection of text which is then synchronized with the system's pasteboard, and can then be pasted within the application, or into any other app.

The app features a slick connection selection interface. Servers can be sorted by name, type or usage, and a search box allows to easily find the desired server.

Wake-on-LAN support is also built-in, when the server session is setup using Bonjour or NetBIOS, the MAC address is automatically populated. Otherwise the field is provided to allow the user to populate it manually. Wake-on-LAN can then be sent either from the main screen of the app, or via the session selection screen.

Macros can also be created and run. Macro support is included for VNC, RDP, SSH and Telnet sessions, and a Macros manager allows for renaming and deleting of existing macros.

The app is extremely configurable, and even includes an app-wide PIN security system to prevent unauthorized use.

Lion's full-screen support is also provided.

The Vitamin K app allows users to easily find out how much vitamin K there is in over 900 different foods which is critical in helping keep the effectiveness of their blood thinning medications working properly. The new version is updated for iOS 5.

If you take blood thinning medications like Coumadin(R) or Warfarin (also known as Jantoven, Marfarin, Lawarin, Waran and Marevan), then this is an app you will truly make use of on a regular basis. Most lists providing information on the content of vitamin K (K1, K1D & K2) in foods generally contain only a limited number of foods, and often they don't indicate the serving size. It is important to understand that the goal isn't to not eat any foods with vitamin K, but rather to keep relatively constant the amount of vitamin K ingested each day so the amount of Coumadin(R) prescribed can work effectively. This can be different for every person using blood thinning medications, and this is why doctors require occasional blood tests as they indicate if the dosage needs to be adjusted.

All too often we hear that you should stay away from dark green leafy vegetables if you are using Coumadin(R), but there are a host of other foods containing vitamin K. Even the dark green leafy vegetables contain varying amounts of vitamin K. Further, each food has its own characteristics and sometimes whether it is fresh, frozen or canned can make a difference in the vitamin K content. The important thing to understand is you may be inadvertently ingesting something which you think doesn't contain any vitamin K when in fact it does. A good example would be carrots which contain varying amounts of vitamin K. A single baby carrot has only 0.9 mcg (very low) while a cup of canned carrot juice contains 36.6 mcg (high).

The Vitamin K app provides information about foods and how they are rated for Vitamin K content based on preparation and serving sizes. This is provided as a means to assist in deciding which foods to eat if you are using blood thinning medications such as Coumadin(R) or Warfarin. The foods are rated from EXTREMELY LOW to EXTREMELY HIGH in Vitamin K. The following colors help readily identify which is which:

* Black = Rated EXTREMELY HIGH in Vitamin K (700.0 - 1146.6 mcg)
* Dark Red = Rated VERY HIGH in Vitamin K (300.0 - 699.9 mcg)
* Red = Rated HIGH in Vitamin K (25.0 - 299.9 mcg)
* Orange = Rated MODERATELY HIGH in Vitamin K (20.0 - 24.9 mcg)
* Yellow = Rated MODERATE in Vitamin K (15.0 - 19.9 mcg)
* Yellow-Green = Rated MODERATELY LOW in Vitamin K (10.0 - 14.9 mcg)
* Green = Rated LOW in Vitamin K (5.0 - 9.0 mcg)
* Cyan = Rated VERY LOW in Vitamin K (0.1 - 4.9 mcg)
* White = Rated EXTREMELY LOW in Vitamin K (less than 0.1 mcg)

There are eight tables listing foods:

The Life Inventory apps were created because of the complexity and length of time needed to complete a proper Moral Inventory. When persons working their way through a 12-step program start creating their own moral inventory and discover that some ways of doing a Moral Inventory might require a thousand spreadsheets, the task seems daunting and many never get around to finishing it, thus depriving themselves of the rewards a completed Moral Inventory can provide. This app is an attempt at finding a way to make the task less time consuming, while at the same time helping the user create a valuable asset in their recovery process.

Storage of the Life Inventory data is done using an underlying database which can be backed up and restored as necessary.

Disclaimer - This app is neither officially produced nor approved by Alcoholics Anonymous or any other Addiction Recovery program. From what is known there have been many Moral Inventory spreadsheets circulating unofficially among AA members for at least 50 years in various versions and this app is based on one the developer found to be useful and more comprehensive than most.

Acknowledgement:
Many thanks to "George" and his "Dungeon Prison Complete" spreadsheet which has been used as the outline for this app. This spreadsheet was developed based on years of his own personal research of the AA Big Book, along with help from many others who had already gone through the process of completing their own Moral Inventories. This was done in order to more fully understand the concepts necessary for completing his own Moral Inventory. George's extensive research resulted in the creation of the "Dungeon Prison Complete" spreadsheet, a detailed set of instructions on how to create a Moral Inventory, including several new concepts not directly covered in the AA Big Book: Sources of Anxiety/Excitement as a 4th Category; and a set of Sex Relations exercises. Both of these new elements were discovered to be critical in eventually understanding why we do what we do, the end result of completing your own Moral Inventory.

Anyone, Not Just 12-Steppers, Can Benefit from Completing a Life Inventory:

The process of completing a Life Inventory doesn't directly address addictions specifically, but rather helps the user examine in detail events that have transpired in their life. The Life Inventory apps gently assists the user in probing into not only what happened, but also why it happened. The questions asked help the user delve into areas often never considered before like:

* What did I want?
* Why did I want it?
* What am I not admitting?
* What lie did I tell myself? (always present)
* What did I leave out or not say?
* What lie did I tell others?
* Have I ever done the same thing?
* Was it any of my business?
* Were my expectations reasonable?
* What was the real truth?
* What was I not seeing?
* Did I fail to see the facts of the situation?

Kidoodle Apps announces the first update to their award-winning children's drawing app for iPad, Pirate Scribblebeard's Treasure. The update includes two new pages, featuring children's own drawings as central characters of the pirate-themed story. The interactive art app encourages creativity and imagination in children 3 and up by offering them drawings to complete, then bringing their drawings to life in animated cut-scenes. The app was recently chosen as the Best Entertainment App by Adobe.

San Francisco, California - Pirate Scribblebeard's Treasure, an app developed by user-experience designer Michelangelo Capraro to encourage his own son to make art on touchscreen tablets, receives a free updated with new pages, characters, and animation.

"As graphic designers, my wife and I spend much of our time using computers to create things," said Kidoodle Apps founder Michelangelo Capraro. "We were really conscious about our child getting sucked into addictive smartphone and tablet games or endless video watching on the iPad. We wanted a more creative digital experience for him and other kids, something that would encourage their imaginations and get them to create things rather than blow things up."

A Newsweek article about the creativity crisis amongst children in the US spurred Michelangelo to start Kidoodle Apps, an app development company to develop iPad and Android apps centered on creativity-building in children. Michelangelo's goal was to design something that encourages children to exercise their problem solving and imaginative skills by thinking and drawing rather than coloring in a pre-drawn, already-perfected character.

The husband and wife team landed on the idea of a doodle book, where children complete a drawing that's already been started for them, in any way they choose. Two young animated hosts of the app, Oscar and Josephine, encourage children to draw burly pirates, pirate ships, sea monsters, and other pirate-themed elements. Once the child is ready to move to the next page, their drawing comes to life and is incorporated into a bigger animated scene.

In the new update, children's drawings become animated along with drawings the children made on previous pages. Parents and children are often surprised to see characters they created several pages earlier, return in new and delightful ways. There are now 16 animated pages that are included with the app.

The app has received tremendous responses from reviewers and families alike, including an Editor's Choice Award from bestappsforkids.com, a recommendation from Wired Magazine's GeekMom site, a feature as Parenting Magazine's Screen Play App of the Week, and the Best Entertainment App Award in the Adobe AIR App Challenge Sponsored by Sony. "Courage Wolf Jump is a whole new generation of jump game," said Benjamin Cousins, President of Rocket Splash Games Inc. "We packed everything we could into the game to make it as exciting as possible: weapons, cash, special abilities, multiple worlds, bosses, and much more."

In Courage Wolf Jump, players leap from platform to platform, climbing higher until they reach the top. Adding to the danger, some platforms are moving and others are guarded by lethal enemies. Missing a platform and falling off the screen will cause players to lose a life - lose 3 lives and the game is over.

"As you keep jumping higher, it gets more and more dangerous," Benjamin Cousins said. "As we say in the game, the harder you fall, the higher you'll bounce."

Players collect coins as they jump through each level and this money can be traded for special abilities that enhance the game. Special abilities include: Ultra Boost for a huge leap up, Epic Howl to destroy enemies, and Super Mode to become invincible and bounce higher. Each special ability has 3 different levels to unlock.

In addition, passive abilities that players can choose from include Longer Jump to leap farther, Coin Multiplier for extra money, and Extra Lives to play longer.

For more firepower, players can use their coins to buy handguns and shotguns for the wolf. Three different upgrades are available for each weapon.

At the end of each world, players will find a dangerous boss standing in their way. The wolf must defeat his enemy to advance to the next world.

A universal app with retina graphics, players smoothly slide coloured rows and columns of balls around a 7x7 floating grid, edge-balls will wrap, attempting to match four-or-more touching colours horizontally and/or vertically.

Plymouth, United Kingdom - Indie developer Jez Hammond of Zenout Studios is pleased to introduce Tetroms 1.0.1 for iOS, their new Action-Puzzler with fast sliding gameplay and incredible 3D graphics on all compatible devices. When 4 touching colours match, they will shoot off towards the attacking enemies above. If the player is too slow, the enemy will get close enough to the grid to start taking the balls' colour, after a few seconds a ball will lose all colour and become unmatchable. The game is over when there are no 4 matching colours remaining in the grid. Only the larger balls on the inside (5x5) of the grid can be used when matching four-or-more!

Players score points which are entered in Game Center leaderboards. There a 3 leaderboards to compete in: Handheld, Tablet, and Overall. There is also a local high-score for the device.

Music is by Gavin Harrison. Players can also choose to listen to their own music from their device's song library, via the built-in music picker. Sound effects are currently still in development - as Gavin only had time to make the 2 excellent music tracks! - they will make the first update and further transform the game into the marvel that it is! Meanwhile, the programmer has included explosion sounds to provide a satisfying feeling when an enemy is prevented from taking the precious colour!

Future updates are in the pipeline, which include more modes of gameplay, new set of sound effects, achievements, refined controls, and more.
