Bennewitz, Germany - Unfortunately, your iPhone does not only ring when friends or important business associates try to reach you. It is becoming increasingly more common to receive calls from telemarketers, call centers, crocks and even some really unpleasant phone stalkers. Those calls are probably just as welcome as a sudden attack of the flu.
Until now it was impossible to find out - before answering the phone - if an unwanted troublemaker was behind the incoming call. The iPhone app tellows pro changes that. More than 50,000 users are taking advantage of the app every day. It works in 15 countries and reliably detects all stored, dubious phone numbers.
This is how it works - it is quite simple: The app deposits phone numbers that have been rated very dubious (they received a tellows score of 7, 8 or 9 - or at least three comments) in the contact list of the iPhone. However, the address database will only show three new entries, namely the numbers 7, 8 and 9 of the tellows score.
The number of any incoming call is now reviewed and cross referenced by the iPhone, to find out if the caller is listed in the address book. If it is a number that has been deposited by tellows, an immediate warning appears on the iPhone display. The also visible tellows score evaluates the phone number. The highest possible score of 9 indicates an "extremely dubious" caller and should be blocked immediately.

Colorful simulated pendulums play sounds at the ends of each swing. Users "compose" music by arranging pendulums, choosing sounds, and letting their creations swing.
The inspiration for SwingSong is a popular science exhibit known as the "Pendulum Snake" or "Pendulum Waves". In these exhibits, a dozen or so freely swinging pendulums have carefully chosen lengths so that each pendulum completes a different number of swings in one minute. A single pendulum is admittedly pretty boring, but multiple pendulums with related frequencies can generate surprisingly complex - even beautiful - patterns. SwingSong adds a musical dimension, so users can experience these patterns both visually and aurally.
SwingSong does not require a background in science or music to enjoy. The user adds and positions pendulums by simply tapping and dragging. As the user drags a pendulum, the software highlights lengths that complement other pendulums in the set. Mathematical symbols that are shown on the side of the keys are selected by dragging a finger toward them from the center of the key. Chosen symbols are immediately displayed in the equation.
Users drag their finger over the display to erase one character or erase the entire expression.
The demo videos in FastCalc review several topics including how to select a side symbol, how to clear symbols or expressions, and how to store a result in memory. Each tutorial displays animated directions that can be consulted in the "About" section.

To make it a special gift, you want a special card - a personal card. This is where Merry eCard comes to you as a simple, yet powerful gift card creator. The App has built-in themes for the fastest way to create a card. However, Merry eCard shows its full potential, when own images and photos are imported.
Merry eCard Winter's Magic contains 22 theme images perfectly suited for greeting and gift cards for Christmas and the winter season in general.
Sharing by sending e-mails is one of the core features. Here, a special background can be selected from the 39 built-in sharing themes or the user can import own images. Three layout types are available and the resulting card can also be published directly to Facebook. Printing using AirPrint allows the user to restrict sizes to the most common envelope types. Both US and international paper sizes are supported and cards can be printed in portrait and landscape.
Photo editing has the expected filters and effects, such as brightness, blur, vignette etc. Additionally there are three special effects created for Merry eCard. These are frame, snow and color flow. The frame effect adds a colored frame or border with variable size around the image. The snow effect is more sophisticated than the usual noise effect found in other applications. The user can select the color and the density of the snow. Color Flow is a special effect best described by referring to the iTunes cover artwork style, where the image of an album or song dissolves into the background. Drawing is supported for the iPad. Piiig Labs was inspired by the Heathkits of the 1970's, which provided all the parts needed to assemble electronic products such as the radio and oscilloscope. Similar to building a Heathkit, children assemble the Piiig science kits by dragging individual components into place like puzzle pieces. Once a kit has been completed, children can interact and play with the object much like in the real world. These kits vary from creating a light bulb circuit to building a Walkie Talkie that can chat with another device on the same Wi-Fi network (included in the next update).

Girona, Spain - After a series of highly successful apps, including an interface to streamline the iPhone's FaceTime capabilities and an easy-to-use virtual post-it note system, 1Tapps has announced its latest move - one which takes them into the world of mobile gaming, or more specifically, mobile gaming for children.
The apps are universal, meaning that both iOS and Android users are able to download and enjoy them - a first for the Spanish development team, which has until now focused solely on iOS apps.
In an interesting move, 1Tapps has decided to release two companion games at once - one paid-for, and the other completely free. Refreshingly, free really means free in this instance, unlike many contemporary apps which feature advertisements or in-game purchases - a move which is likely to please parents who worry about leaving their children unattended on mobile devices.
Any child of the 70's will be instantly familiar with the concept of 1TapBubbles; a game based on the iconic TOMY kids' water toss games which proved incredibly popular during the decade. Thankfully, none of the simplicity of the hand-held original has been lost in 1Tapps mobile version. The controls are deceptively simple, with the user required to simply tap the screen to create a torrent of water which sends the rings upwards. The device can then be tilted in order to control where the rings descend in a similar manner to the archetypal TOMY version. 1TapBubbles is certain to bring pangs of nostalgia to anyone old enough to remember playing such games as a child, whilst remaining fresh, easy to grasp and aesthetically pleasing enough to captivate an entirely new audience.
Those who prefer their games gratis might be more inclined to check out 1TapMaze, another app which takes cues from a retro handheld classic. Essentially a virtual take on 'ball labyrinth' style games, 1TapMaze couldn't be simpler. The user is required to simply tilt the device in order to guide the ball through a maze, harking back to an era before the arcade.

A company spokesperson added "the ease of accessibility was designed specifically with children in mind.
