WritePad is designed to deliver considerably faster note-taking, by offering multiple suggestions for words or phrases as notes are input in the user's own handwriting. As a user writes, alternative recognition results and word completions are presented in a scrollable suggestion bar next to the text, allowing a user to select an alternative result if the initial translation of the handwriting was incorrect.
To further increase compatibility of WritePad documents with other applications and platforms, several text encodings are not supported, including UTF-16, UTF-8, Windows Latin 1, and others. The encoding can be changed via Document Info command in the toolbar. This is another big update to the multiplayer strategy game by Toivon Studio. The bravest pirates set off on search of a lost treasure, laying waste to all who cross their path. The pirate officers can seize riches, join forces with others, and dominate the high seas.
A completely new feature, called Guild Tourney, will kick off in Kingdom of Pirates 1.4. It gives the chance for the guilds to climb up the leaderboards! A guild leader, officer or veteran can enroll their guild for the Guild Tourney. The system will pick out qualified guilds to enter: those are only the top 24 honor ranking guilds which were registered during the enrollment period. After enrollment, each guild can assign up to 9 members to challenge counterparts of the competing guild. Each round consists of 9 battles. In the first 8 battles, each guild will attack first in four random battles respectively. For the 9th battle, the system will randomly decide which guild can attack first. The combined results of all battles will determine the winner of the round. The guild with higher total rises up the leaderboard.
In addition to the exciting battles, a new Guild Market will also open in the new version. A variety of rare items can be acquired there. For each donation to the guild, the players will get many Guild chips. Those can be exchanged for needed items in the Guild Market. Most importantly, Amethyst from the remote island of Nonnia can be bought at the Guild Market. If the players can gather 200 such stones, a new extremely powerful pirate officer will join their team. This is the Eccentric Captain Neo. He was born on the island of Nonnia, and left his home in search for power and glory. This new officer is also one of the new features of the new version 1.4. However, only 9 Nonnian Amethysts per day can be purchased. There are quotas for all the types of items. And it is only the daily quotas that stops the players from taking all they need to become the most powerful pirates in the seas!
In Kingdom of Pirates version 1.4 there is a new way to make your officers much stronger than before. Except for upgrading their equipment or forging a better one, players can also imbed magic stones to their officer's magic matrix. Only one magic stone of each type can be imbedded. There are magic stones of four levels - green, blue, purple and orange. Those can also be upgraded up to level 12, but they can never turn into more powerful stones of another color.
The Magic Stones can be acquired from the Magic Island - another innovation in the game. Only there, a magic circle can be found. When they activate the circle, players can receive magic stones in return for gold money or rubies. There are five pillars of the magic circle, and each pillar offers better rewards than the previous one. A special magic bag holds the magic stones. When it is too full, the player can choose to enhance a stone, for which other unused magic stones should be consumed. Special enhance stones can significantly raise the stone's level.
Kingdom of Pirates 1.4 will feature a new daily activity - Flash Mode. A special type of items can drop from the Flash Mode. These are the magic stone fragments, which can be exchanged for magic stones. In the Flash Mode, there are three difficulty grades. Players need to complete all the challenges in a certain grade, so that in the end they can collect all the rewards. If the day finished before all challenges are completed, players can't collect any rewards from the challenges which were already passed - everything, or nothing.

Manila, Philippines - Scrambled Eggs Pte Ltd, a consumer app startup, today is proud to announce the release of Lick 1.1.1 for iOS, an app that adds an extra dimension to photos you take, voice. Its strongest use case remains to be seen but the ability for users to annotate photos with important information like price or name of the object they're capturing, makes a lot of sense. And an interesting gesture on Lick, 'hold to record voice and release to take picture' lets users record a vote note and take a picture almost simultaneously. Useful for anyone on-the-go wanting to make a quick record of something they're looking to buy or stumbling across something that's noteworthy to them.
Why not just use video? The founder of Lick argues that he's never seen anyone record a video of a stationary object to make a note of it. That would be weird and that's why Lick combines voice note with static image. He adds that a Lick is also 10% the size of a standard video file so sending and receiving Licks is far quicker than transfer of video, it's almost instant.
Why not use text as opposed to voice? 'Text is slow and people stumble with it' says the founder. Voice is fast and natural. It also adds room for authenticity if users intend to send a lick to their friend.
Lick could've been another messaging app but it chose not to be. Early beta testers were noted for using the front camera on Lick to combine selfies of themselves with voice messages for their friends. Users would then send these licks via Whatsapp, Wechat and Instagram (all integrated into the app) to their friends. This could prove to be a missed opportunity but for now the founder thinks that people are tired of creating new accounts and rebuilding their networks on every new app they install so why not just integrate with existing apps to export licks to? It will be exciting to see what direction and trajectory that Lick takes.

Paris based app studio, Appakabar today announces the second anniversary of Makanim - Multi-touch Generative Art, its popular entertainment app for iOS. Makanim is a particle generator with live editable parameters that enables anyone to create endless combinations of visual effects. Downloaded 260,000 times, this app appeals to artists, designers, musicians, speech therapists alike. Makanim was recently updated to take advantage of the HD Retina Display and vivid colors.
Paris, France - Appakabar today is pleased to confirm the success of Makanim, their multi-touch app for making animations of colored shapes, developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. For two years, Makanim is a great success - the app has been downloaded 260,000 times, with a global rating of 5/5 in the US, and has more than 200 enthusiastic reviews.
Makanim is an artistic multi-touch particle generator. The user touchs the screen with one to six fingers and drag shapes to generate hypnotic visual effects. The app comes with plenty of basic templates and options to play with. There are thousands of potential combinations, and all of them are impacted differently by the interaction of the user.
On the first screen 48 presets can be previewed with an iphone-like pagination. The presets are animated and easy to visualize. When one is selected, a new screen appears where the animation is auto played.
In the main screen, the animation itself takes place. The menu bar at the bottom of the screen enables real-time edition of seven parameters. There are two popups and controls on iPad, and one on iPhone/iPod touch. When the user open a popup, he chooses between seven parameters to change the associated control: animation mode, start color, end color, shape, size, speed and chaos.
Four parameters control the visual appearance of the animation. The shape option defines the form of each of the particles emitted. There are many shapes provided, from snow flakes, hearts, arrows, and many others. Next, starting color and ending color can be adjusted. Some of them aren't just a single plain color, but rather a set of colors. The starting color option is used when a particle has just been created, while the ending one will be used the moment before it disappears. The size option adjust the dimension of each shape.
Three parameters adjust the motion of the animation: the animation mode option permits to choose between the calculation method, while speed and chaosadd dispersion to the animation.
In the options, Menu opacity enable to adjust the transparency of the menu bar in the animation page and the Expert mode allows to hide the menu bar and play with full screen by using shortcuts.
Makanim permits to make screenshots, stored in the photo library, or to project animations on an external display using a HDMI or VGA adapter (VGA/HDMI output is only available from iPad 2 and iPhone 4S). The app also works with AirPlay Mirroring for the particles to move around on a big screen.
Relaying on its graphic and development experience, Appakabar Studio wanted to do something simple and easy to use, with numerous graphic possibilities. The controls are editable in real-time. The handling of the colors is not as usual the three sliders Red, Green, Blue, but a simple select list of pictograms that represent tints or mix of tints. Paris, France - Appakabar today is pleased to confirm the success of Makanim, their multi-touch app for making animations of colored shapes, developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. For two years, Makanim is a great success - the app has been downloaded 260,000 times, with a global rating of 5/5 in the US, and has more than 200 enthusiastic reviews.
Makanim is an artistic multi-touch particle generator. The user touchs the screen with one to six fingers and drag shapes to generate hypnotic visual effects. The app comes with plenty of basic templates and options to play with. There are thousands of potential combinations, and all of them are impacted differently by the interaction of the user.
On the first screen 48 presets can be previewed with an iphone-like pagination. The presets are animated and easy to visualize. When one is selected, a new screen appears where the animation is auto played.
In the main screen, the animation itself takes place. The menu bar at the bottom of the screen enables real-time edition of seven parameters. There are two popups and controls on iPad, and one on iPhone/iPod touch. When the user open a popup, he chooses between seven parameters to change the associated control: animation mode, start color, end color, shape, size, speed and chaos.
Four parameters control the visual appearance of the animation. The shape option defines the form of each of the particles emitted. There are many shapes provided, from snow flakes, hearts, arrows, and many others. Next, starting color and ending color can be adjusted. Some of them aren't just a single plain color, but rather a set of colors. The starting color option is used when a particle has just been created, while the ending one will be used the moment before it disappears. The size option adjust the dimension of each shape.
Three parameters adjust the motion of the animation: the animation mode option permits to choose between the calculation method, while speed and chaosadd dispersion to the animation.
In the options, Menu opacity enable to adjust the transparency of the menu bar in the animation page and the Expert mode allows to hide the menu bar and play with full screen by using shortcuts.
Makanim permits to make screenshots, stored in the photo library, or to project animations on an external display using a HDMI or VGA adapter (VGA/HDMI output is only available from iPad 2 and iPhone 4S). The app also works with AirPlay Mirroring for the particles to move around on a big screen.
Relaying on its graphic and development experience, Appakabar Studio wanted to do something simple and easy to use, with numerous graphic possibilities. The controls are editable in real-time. The handling of the colors is not as usual the three sliders Red, Green, Blue, but a simple select list of pictograms that represent tints or mix of tints.
