Sky & Telescope Magazine editors awarded it a prestigious 2014 Hot Products designation. This makes the third award for Starmap since 2010. To celebrate and introduce the app to an expanded universe of users, the producers of Starmap are making all Starmap Media stories available free of charge from December 17, 2013 to January 31, 2014.
Grenoble, France - Starmap Media has been awarded the 2014 Hot Products designation from the editors of Sky & Telescope, one of the world's leading astronomy magazines. To celebrate the occasion, the producers of Starmap are making all Starmap Media stories available free of charge from December 17, 2013 to January 31, 2014. This makes the third award in three years for the well-respected and growing family of Starmap astronomy applications. Starmap was first named a hot product by Sky & Telescope in 2010, and the editors wrote in their original review, "The original Starmap planetarium app for Apple's iPhone so wowed us that it was one of our Hot Product picks for 2010!"
In 2012, Astronomy magazine recognized Starmap's excellence by naming it one of their specially selected Star Products for 2012. "Being honored for the third time is very gratifying," said developer and Starmap CEO, Dr. Frederic Descamps. "When we founded the company in 2008, at the opening of the AppStore, we never imagined where it would take us. To have these major astronomy publications recognize our apps and the role they play in helping users learn astronomy tells us that we're doing something right. These awards tell us we've created apps users will rely on for many years."
Starmap stories are designed for use under the real night sky, allowing the celestial sphere to support the story in real time. As the story plays, the app guides the user to spot locations in the sky overhead. With Starmap Media, the night sky becomes a starry stage for mythology, culture, and science.
If the weather isn't good or users want to surf the sky from indoors, they can experience the stories in "couch mode" Starmap Media offers more than seven hours of interactive animations and narration to tell stories about dozens of sky objects visible to users. Narration, music, and visuals all come together in a series of 30 elegantly designed presentations accessible at the tap of a finger. Users who have experienced Starmap Media say it's like having a star chart and a personally guided planetarium show in the palm of your hand.
Each Starmap Media story was written by science writer and astronomy media producer Carolyn Collins Petersen. The scripts were narrated by veteran voice actor Jon Mohr, and Frederic Descamps produced and integrated the results into the app.
Starmap Media is a free app and comes with two stories: a tutorial and a guide to the sky called "The Sky Tonight." There are 30 additional stories available as in-app purchases for only 99 cents each. In each story, which is keyed to a specific time of year and portion of the sky, the narrator talks about the scientific and cultural importance of stars, constellations, and deep-sky objects visible. The stories are charming and educational, and make excellent lessons for astronomers of all levels. They are grouped by level: beginner, intermediate, and expert.
For a limited time, users can download Starmap Media stories for free. "It's our way of thanking users who have supported us over the years, and introducing ourselves to new generations of users. One of the more advanced features is called "Safe Chat" and this feature ensures that you only receive real-time photos from users who are not yet on your friends list. The timeline in a user's profile shows the individual's A to Z, making it much easier for others to get to know all about them.
Users can check their Love Match score with anyone, which tells them if they would be a good match for the person they're chatting with. Once a user has found someone they like and are friends, they can use "Hotline Chat", which contains all the latest features and makes chatting more fun.
Daily Couple also has a very helpful feature called, "Near Me Search" that shows how far away from their current location, other users are located. This feature lets a user check to see who is nearest to them so they can invite them to meet for coffee.
There are many ways to earn points and one way is to invite friends to join. Each time a user earns points, these can be converted to coins, which are deposited into their Safe Box. Coins can be used to buy virtual items for other users or turned into real money via Paypal.

Normally, companies say their app is free but then they charge for the more fun features but not with Daily Couple. Users get all the features available for free."
Daily Couple is completely free to download. Many apps of this nature charge extra to chat or wink at someone or see who has viewed their dating profile. However, all of these extras are included in the Free version of the app.

You can also export the altered image to all of the supported formats.

There is no need to go outdoors this winter to build your snowman or snow-woman. Vivid Pixel Designs has released Snow Peeps 1.1, their holiday themed game for iOS devices. Snow Peeps brings the act of snow-person making indoors, and adds some friendly competition to the mix. Snow Peeps consists of up to 4 different gaming modes, including Snow Peeps, Lightning Round, Free Play and even Memory Peep. Snow Peeps is offered free of charge so you can try out the game and decide if you like it.
Florence, Kentucky - There is no need to go outdoors this winter to build your snowman or snow-woman. Snow Peeps, a free app for iOS Devices, brings the act of snow-person making indoors, and adds some friendly competition to the mix. Snow Peeps offers up to four game modes of play with the basic premise being to dress up your "Snow Peep" in clothes from seven categories. Users can pick from a variety of items in each category to customize their look.
In one mode, players take turns with a shaker to determine which category of items is offered for selection. If the player already has an item from that category, their turn is skipped. The first player to completely decorate their Snow Peep wins the game.
In another mode, called the "Lightning Round," players compete to finish their Snow Peeps as a stream of random clothing items flows across the screen. If a player taps an item from a category already being worn, both items are lost and the player has to find a replacement from the ever-flowing stream.
A "Free Play" mode lets players decorate and redecorate their Snow Peeps with no time limit or winner.
Rounding out the game modes is "Memory Peep." This one-player mode presents the player with a decorated Snow Peep, and slowly fades the clothing away to a bare snow canvas. The player tries to re-decorate the Snow Peep by picking the same items. Wrong selections are tallied, so the lower the score, the better. This mode requires an In-App Purchase.
