Apex is now available on Cydia. Here’s why you should buy it Posted: 03 Oct 2013 02:36 PM PDT One of the best jailbreak tweaks to touch down in some time is now available for purchase on the Cydia Store. I’m referring to Apex, the new jailbreak tweak collaboration from A3tweaks. Apex is an innovative new release that allows you to group sets of app icons together, and reveal each individual app using a swipe up or swipe down gesture. This means that you can have what appears to be a single app on your Home screen, when in all actuality, it’s hiding up to four additional apps. Apex is a great way to get by without using folders. It allows you to quickly group items together, and launch them just as fast using intuitive gesture commands. Have a look inside at our full video walkthrough, as I explain why this is a must have jailbreak release for you.(...) "Apex is now available on Cydia. Apple acquires personal assistant app Cue Posted: 03 Oct 2013 01:32 PM PDT Apple has apparently acquired another personal assistant company. It’s called Cue, and it’s the startup firm behind the personal assistant app for iPhone, of the same name, which shut down earlier this week. The company, formerly known as Greplin, was a Y Combinator alumnus, announced to its users on Tuesday that the service would be shutting down, and that premium users would receive a prorated refund…(...) Official Google Music app expected to launch on iOS later this month Posted: 03 Oct 2013 12:17 PM PDT It’s been more than two years since Google unveiled its Music service, and the company has yet to launch an official iOS client. Sure, there’s been plenty of third-party apps, and a web app, but nothing native directly from Google. But according to a new report from Engadget, that could change very soon. Citing sources familiar with the company’s plans, the outlet claims that Google is testing a Music app internally, and plans to launch it later this month…(...) Gentlemen, start your engines: NASCAR Redline races its way into the App Store Posted: 03 Oct 2013 10:50 AM PDT I’ve never been a big fan of NASCAR but I do remember spending a big chunk of my pocket money on the arcade game Daytona USA. I specifically recall races starting with the iconic “gentlemen, start your engines” announcement. Fastforward to today, and I’m still not a big NASCAR fan, but I can certainly appreciate some of the strategies that go into the races. The right set of brakes, tires, or suspension can actually make or break a race. NASCAR: Redline is the first officially licensed NASCAR game to make its way in the App Store. Although you won’t be in the driver seat, your role will be to ensure that every decision made is the right one in order to take your team to the victory…(...) Snapchat 6.0 is out with new ‘Snapchat Stories’ feature Posted: 03 Oct 2013 10:25 AM PDT Snapchat has posted a new version of its iOS client today, bringing the app to version 6.0. The update only includes one new feature—but it’s a major new feature, which the company is calling ‘Snapchat Stories.’ The best way to describe the feature is that it’s sort of similar to Facebook’s News Feed. Story entries are essentially status updates that show your friends what you’ve been up to in the last 24 hours, using pictures…(...) Schools complain of iPad web filter issues after iOS 7 update Posted: 03 Oct 2013 09:35 AM PDT Apple’s been making a big push into education in recent months, updating iTunes to allow users under the age of 13 and touting new features in iOS 7. It says the update makes it ‘easier for institutions to put devices in the hands of students.’ But for many schools with student iPads deployed, the update is actually making things more difficult. Chrome’s incognito mode is flawed in latest iOS 7 update Posted: 03 Oct 2013 08:59 AM PDT For all of you folks buying gifts in secret for your loved ones, beware; Chrome’s incognito mode has a flaw that allows users to recover searches performed in private. A new video has surfaced showcasing the flaw in action, and iDB has independently verified, that indeed, Incognito mode on the iOS version of Chrome ain’t so incognito. The problem occurs when searching in incognito mode and then exiting incognito mode and performing a web search on Google.com. The issue doesn’t occur when exiting Google.com and searching using Chrome’s Omnibox. Incognito mode has never been exactly fail proof on iOS, but this is still a pretty embarrassing gaffe for Google.(...)
