I have an Ipod Touch 4g. I sync it on a Win7 PC. When I first
plug in my Ipod, I get a "Device not Recognized" message. But,
if I unplug it and plug it in again, the Ipod is recognized and
everything works fine.
This happens every time, without fail. I have reinstalled
drivers, and I can't think what would cause this. Most of the
things that cause a Device Not Recognized error will be there no
matter how many times you plug/unplug your Ipod.
This one has me stumped.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried a device restore? First do a manual back up. Click on you're iPod from under devices.

You will be taken to the general setting page of you're iPod. Towards the bottom there is a restore and back button.

Press backup and let it complete before restoring. Once the restore is complete the computer will automatically install drivers for the iPod.

Have you tried a different cable?
Either end could be having problems.

Are you connecting to a cable that is generally plugged into your computer?
That end may be loose or something.

I was having some plug-in-to-charge problems with one device & tried blowing
in the connector-hole in case it was a bit of dust or something -- seems to
have helped. OTOH that device is showing other "signs of age" so maybe I
just got lucky.

Also, sometimes these glitches "just happen", but not consistently as you've
been experiencing.

The "Boing" sound disappeared from my iPod Touch.

I am looking for a way to get it back...
Any suggestions???

I found it myself!!!

It had moved into a sub-group of sounds called "classic".

Not sure how it got there.... maybe when I upgraded to iOS7???

What iPod touch do you have? Sounds are generally controlled under settings by tapping sounds. Is the sound turned up?
