Ouch, Bruce! Lol. Meaning of "end of life"! Anything to make a buck, I guess. And the modem is a Motorola! More I try to understand tech matters, more I get frustrated. In the interim though, like it! Lol. Thanks again.

Motorola made good equipment. I was sorry to see them exit the business. Some other companies, I didn't like to use their products. Good Luck.

AFAIC "end of life" means...it39;s dying.
Machinery isn't immortal any more than we are.

'End of life' just means that the company who made the product for Comcast
doesn't make it anymore or support it. Heard the same thing when Motorola
exited the DSL router business.

Bruce, that's right. Took ipod to local library with wifi and was able to
connect smoothly. Not so at home with router/modem. Comcast couldn't do fix
over phone so are sending worker to solve wifi problem. Probably means new
modem cause was told from company office, "end of life"! Probably why I was
getting flickering wifi connection. Thanks for helping.

age, schmage...some people are good with some things & others aren't. We all
have our particular talents and struggles.
I've never been that good with machine innards (though I did learn how to
*assemble* a PC, and years ago I had to learn the principles of the internal
combustion engine) -- I was always better at the user-end. I did application
programming but not system-programming.
I don't know your age-group, but I'm no spring chicken myself.

As I mentioned, was born too early for this tech age! Lol. But I do like
hearing how you solved your problems. Am picking up things here and there.
Thanks.

Agree, bj, all depends on natural ability. Mine was learning to be English teacher. At 85 yrs now and trying to ward off the big D(demential) and A(alzheimers) by using gadgets like ipod, and computer. Don't like crosswords. Lol.

Well, there you are then!
I got dinged on my college freshman comp grade because I
*wasn't creative enough* -- not because I couldn't write well!
But I loved my course in Structure of the English Language. Fortunately I
did my lit requirement in another language so I didn't have to "interpret"
more poetry. :-)
And I do enjoy crosswords, especially Brit-style cryptics.
