bj, gonna try your helpful tips. Mucho thanks! Will certainly keep this old brain working! Lol. Appreciate your going thru steps. Will be sure to let you know how I make out. Have been to MusOpen on the Touch but didn't know where to go with it. Asked me for email, user, password, so gave up. Got your info to go with now and hopefully will have better luck. Liked seeing "choir" on listing, as well as ballet music. Looking good! And do have CD drive on laptop, so this should be fun too. Will have to download iTunes on it and do some "ripping". Not familiar yet with "podcast" or iTunes U. Wonder if Touch 2nd gen has all the memory. Oh well, first things first, and get some MusOpen on my "old" ipod Touch 2nd gn! Lol.

I don't know what the Touch2nd minimum is, but you can check the capacity in
two ways --
on the device -- Settings-General-About
or in iTunes when hooked up to sync.
(do you have a sync cable for it?)

Audio files don't take up that much space; you can fit a lot of audio
(music, spoken word, etc) in a few Gigabytes. It's video (movies, pictures,
etc) that eats up the space.

Podcast is just like a recorded show -- there are both audio only ("radio")
and video ("tv") available.

iTunesU has a lot of more "educational" type "shows" -- audio or video
lectures & so on.

You might want to go to the support site

http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/

first to read all about how to use a Touch.
My Touch2nd has iOS 4.2.1 which iTunes says is the latest it takes;
The support site doesn't list that exact iOS version but you could try 4.1
and 4.3 for information. Download the manual (PDF files) and read on your
computer.

bj, should I be looking for "downloader app" before trying to download music? Thought you said there's already free one with ITunes installation. Am running into brick wall! Lol.
