Wilmington, Delaware - Hot Rods Mafia, an interactive, social puzzle game developed by 2 Hammers Studio, officially launched in the iTunes store this week. Hot Rods Mafia uses unique tactics to not only engage the mind, but entertain in a way that players of most age groups can relate to.
"We wanted to create something that was just as exciting as a racing game, but added a puzzle aspect to exercise the player's brain simultaneously; I think we've come up with something truly original," said Javier Caras, founder of 2 Hammers Studio.
In addition to its host of features, Hot Rods Mafia also offers a thrilling storyline about a Mafia Don, Frank, and the user's servitude to him. Players get a taste of the mafia life by racing the clock and the cops, to collect loot and earn the Don's trust and approval. Coins are earned at the end of each race, according to the time in which the level was completed - these coins can be used to purchase additional levels, more powerful Hot Rods, power-ups, accessories and more. Hot Rods Mafia's slot machine feature allows players have the opportunity to earn more coins, and other useful extras that make the game even more engaging.
"I designed the app to really pull users into the story, and provoke excitement with its extra content that players earn," said Caras. "The competitive nature of the game will also encourage everyone to constantly improve their own race time as well as their friends."
Players' achievements be shared on social networks, and friends can challenge one another to beat their best rankings in the Game Center.

Negatives provides a new look and feel to the traditional Instagram interface. Usually, Instagram shows you one photo at a time ordered only chronologically, regardless of who uploaded them, so you can see a photo from one friend, then a photo from another friend and then another photo from the first friend -- this is confusing!
To solve this problem, Negatives groups photos by the people who uploaded them, so it's much easier to see who uploaded what and when. The main view of Negatives shows you all your Instagram friends sorted chronologically, the first friend is the one with the newest photo and so on. Each friend is given a "Negative"; (like in pre-digital cameras) that shows all of their photos. The photos are also ordered chronologically where the left most photo is the newest for each friend.
Building on the approach, I used those 'Negatives' all through the app to provide a more streamlined version to follow your friends photos," explained Udi Rubinstein, developer of Negatives. "For example, tapping a comment will show you all the users and tags that appear in that comment, and each will be given a "Negative"; with that user's tagged photos."

The Yes, Drill Sergeant app is built with the primary goal of making fitness training a little more enjoyable, employing the use of audio training coaches in the form of drill sergeants. Offering both encouragement and entertainment the sergeants keep things interesting. Simply select your sergeant, mission and favourite music; the sergeants will issue 'orders' and track progress made. Feedback on both complete and incomplete missions provides motivation to push that requisite bit harder.
"The app is ideal for motivating people like me between sessions with a live personal trainer," says Josh Bondy, the lead developer. "Running and park exercises are effective but boring. So we came up with the idea of Yes, Drill Sergeant. It's a fun way to keep motivated while exercising in the park."
Launching in time for the holiday season and is ideal for holding off weight gain and keeping those New Year's resolutions to get in shape. The app supports training missions of various lengths, so even with limited time, it's a matter of grabbing the phone and starting a stimulating and beneficial workout.
App users start out at the rank of private as they build endurance and strength. As they continue to follow orders and assigned missions cadets will move up the ranks. Each sergeant offers different exercises, training styles, and personalities. This means that cadets can choose the training style that's the best fit for them. Some of the trainers focus more on endurance, others on strength, flexibility, or agility. The first drill sergeant, McTesty, is included with the app, which is free for download, and offers the option of selecting other sergeants for a nominal fee.
Josh Bondy adds, "We are launching with an engaging set of missions and options for four sergeants. We have the ability to introduce much more challenging mission and features, but we want our users to drive this" adding that there are extensive feedback features and he expects the direction of the product to be collaborative.
A small army of test users has helped refine the four sergeants available at launch: Sergeant McTesty, Master Chief Hardarse, Master Fu, and Anna Nova. Sergeant McTesty is designed to be intimidating while providing the experience of a marine boot camp, whereas Master Chief Hardarse is tough but fair, offering recruits a taste of basic training. Master Fu offers martial arts themed approach, whereas Anna Nova offers training ideal for an elusive spy.
Recruits benefit from workouts designed for different goals and training levels. Each workout is structured around missions and a points system. Missions include many common exercises, such as push-ups, squats, burpees, lunges, and crunches. Each mission also emphasizes endurance through marching and running orders. They are arranged in challenging yet entertaining sets themed around various training programs.

"The app is ideal for motivating people like me between sessions with a live personal trainer," says Josh Bondy, the lead developer. "Running and park exercises are effective but boring. So we came up with the idea of Yes, Drill Sergeant. It's a fun way to keep motivated while exercising in the park."
Launching in time for the holiday season and is ideal for holding off weight gain and keeping those New Year's resolutions to get in shape. The app supports training missions of various lengths, so even with limited time, it's a matter of grabbing the phone and starting a stimulating and beneficial workout.
App users start out at the rank of private as they build endurance and strength. As they continue to follow orders and assigned missions cadets will move up the ranks. Each sergeant offers different exercises, training styles, and personalities. This means that cadets can choose the training style that's the best fit for them. Some of the trainers focus more on endurance, others on strength, flexibility, or agility. The first drill sergeant, McTesty, is included with the app, which is free for download, and offers the option of selecting other sergeants for a nominal fee.
Josh Bondy adds, "We are launching with an engaging set of missions and options for four sergeants. We have the ability to introduce much more challenging mission and features, but we want our users to drive this" adding that there are extensive feedback features and he expects the direction of the product to be collaborative.
A small army of test users has helped refine the four sergeants available at launch: Sergeant McTesty, Master Chief Hardarse, Master Fu, and Anna Nova. Sergeant McTesty is designed to be intimidating while providing the experience of a marine boot camp, whereas Master Chief Hardarse is tough but fair, offering recruits a taste of basic training. Master Fu offers martial arts themed approach, whereas Anna Nova offers training ideal for an elusive spy.
Recruits benefit from workouts designed for different goals and training levels. Each workout is structured around missions and a points system. Missions include many common exercises, such as push-ups, squats, burpees, lunges, and crunches. Each mission also emphasizes endurance through marching and running orders. They are arranged in challenging yet entertaining sets themed around various training programs.

Linz, Austria - Austrian indie Mac & iOS developer, Karl Traunmueller today released a major update to Taskdeck for Mac, the Mac task and to-do list app. The new release adds, among other improvements, world-class Cloud sync that puts Taskdeck on par with big names like Wunderlist or Things. At the same time, an iOS companion app, Taskdeck for iOS, has been launched to bring the Taskdeck experience to mobile devices. Sync between desktop and mobile is handled by a newly introduced Cloud sync platform called Taskdeck Cloud.
Taskdeck provides lightweight, low-overhead task and to-do management. The unobtrusive menu bar application with its iOS-inspired drill-down user interface can be activated on any virtual desktop through a system-wide hotkey, without having to switch between application windows or desktops.
Says Karl Traunmueller, the developer of Taskdeck: "Efficient, low-overhead task management is essential to my daily work as a software developer. With Taskdeck, I wanted to create something that would allow me to collect and manage tasks with as little interruption to my workflow as possible. Creating, prioritizing, modifying, or completing tasks should be quick and easy."
Besides essential task list app features such as due dates, drag & drop prioritization, or searching and filtering, Taskdeck also offers a tagging system for categorization of tasks, file attachment (a feature not commonly found in task list apps), Dropbox integration for attachment synchronization, and zero-interaction Cloud sync.
The new Cloud sync feature keeps lists and tasks constantly in sync across mobile and desktop apps. Changes are replicated almost instantly, typically in less than three seconds. Subtle animations hint the user at where changes occur: if, for example, a task gets moved within a list on a Mac, the task will animate to that same slot on a connected iPhone or iPad just seconds later.
Karl Traunmueller adds: "Very few task list apps get sync right, at least at the granularity I expect from a proper sync implementation. I wanted flawless, near-realtime sync that requires no user attention whatsoever. To put it more blatantly: sync that doesn't suck. And I'm extremely pleased with the result, Taskdeck's sync is pretty amazing."
The new infrastructure that makes this all possible is called Taskdeck Cloud. User who want to use Cloud sync need to sign up by providing an email and a password.
