Tickets are selling fast for the three day event, taking place at the Canadian Museum of Nature May 8th to 10th, 2014.
"After last year's resounding success, we knew we had to organize a second edition and bring people back to Ottawa. That's why we chose the Museum of Nature to showcase a different part of the city for new and repeat attendees," said Philippe Casgrain, Co-Organizer of NSNorth. "We have also introduced a Student Scholarship program allowing the community to sponsor one or more students who will be given a full conference pass. Once again, we're very excited about what we have in store for attendees!"

Flippen is the character presenting the first part in a series of interactive picture books and games for children. In Flippen's Picture Book - Nordic Wildlife we get to know Nordic wild animals in their natural habitats, visualized with a unique style trough the Swedish artist Simon Leijnses's drawings.
We will learn about what they look like, their living environment, the names and sounds of the animals. This is not "just another picture book". A lot of effort was put into doing something unique, fun and educational for children, something that stands out among picture books. The process from idea to finished picture book has therefore been a little different. Where many other picture books sprawls in many directions regarding the content, Flippen concentrate to present specifically - Nordic Wildlife. The style of the pictures and animations mixes realism with an imagery that is enjoyed by kids. Sound is of course an integral part of the experience and besides animal sounds we will experience sounds from the different animals' natural environments.
Flippen's Picture Book - Nordic Wildlife offers a lot more than an ordinary picture book. For a little more challenge, there is a puzzle game with different levels, where you have to fit together the puzzle pieces to form a whole animal. The puzzle is a fun and stimulating part that triggers the urge to explore. The picture book also contains a unique feature for parents to do their own recording of each of the names for the animals. The names are then played, if you wish, for each animal and become a familiar voice for the children to learn the animal names off.
Sometimes small fingers are where they should not be. A smart parental lock can therefore easily be activated to keep the children from accidentally exiting to the settings page.

This version of its award-winning utility for enhancing Open and Save dialogs corrects a compatibility issue with Mac OS 10.8 and ensures that all applications default to the correct folder when their file dialogs first open.
Default Folder X was honored with Macworld Magazine's Editors' Choice Award for Best System Enhancement Utility because it makes Open and Save dialogs "work the way they should." The idea of the game is rather simple: you connect multicolor cities with railways and send trains to the same color cities using switches and lights. Your task is to maintain the positive balance during the allotted time avoiding crashes and delays. In the case of a crash you will have to fix rails calling a service train. Crashes look hilarious and one train can knock another train off the rails.
Raildale has a very convenient user interface. You simply draw railways using your finger, without using a menu. The game will take you into a calming, natural environment with birds singing and wind blowing.
There are only 16 levels in the game, however, the developer assures that it is a challenging game and will take quite a bit of time to complete. The game also has additional features which make the game more difficult and more varied, such as express trains, railway damage and crazy trains.
