Customers can choose from eight different photo calendar formats. Thanks to the "glossy" option, the picture surface is protected from wear and fading, which ensures a long life for the calendar images and memories. Those using the glossy option can do this with a good environmental conscience, because the direct digital printing doesn't use chemically developed PE photo paper; and the materials and processes used have been scrutinized under the environmental management norm ISO 14001 *.

Beth named it after her website, Row Zone. "I wanted to create an iPhone App that rowers, coaches and coxswains could use." said Beth. The website RowZone.net, was inspired by her love for rowing. RowZone.net helps anyone interested in learning to row, and for the more seasoned rower, provides information regarding clubs, camps and other rowing locations. There is a also a link to an online store which sells rowing gear and gifts.

Intego has discovered a new Trojan horse, Flashback, which masquerades as a Flash Player installer. VirusBarrier X6's real-time scanner will detect the file when it is downloaded, and its Anti-Spyware protection will block any connections. Risk: Low; this malware has been found in the wild, and may fool Mac users who don't have Flash Player installed. However, Intego so far has only one report of this malware, and a sample provided by a user who downloaded it from a malicious web site.

Description: Intego has discovered a new Trojan horse, Flashback, which masquerades as a Flash Player installer. This Trojan horse has been found in the wild, and has some disturbing actions.

Users visiting certain malicious websites may see a link or an icon to download and install Flash Player. Since Mac OS X Lion does not include Flash Player, some users may be fooled and think this is a real installation link. When they click the link, an installation package downloads, and, if the user is using Safari as their web browser, the Mac OS X Installer will launch. (Safari considers installer packages, with .pkg or .mpkg extensions, to be "safe" files and will launch them after download, if default settings are used.)

If the user proceeds with the installation procedure, the installer for this Trojan horse will deactivate some network security software, and, after installation, will delete the installation package itself. The malware installs a dyld (dynamic loader) library and auto-launch code, allowing it to inject code into applications the user launches. This code, installed in a file at ~/Library/Preferences/Preferences.dylib, connects to a remote server, and sends information about the infected Mac to this server: this includes the computer's MAC address, a unique identifier. This will allow the malware to detect if a Mac is infected.

For now, Intego has analyzed this malware and its installation process. Intego's security researchers are analyzing the injected code and we will issue more information as soon as possible.

Means of protection: Users should not download a Flash Player installer from any site other than adobe.com. Mac OS X Lion does not include Flash Player, but users who wish to install this software should visit Adobe's website.

Next, it is advisable, for those who use Safari as their web browser, to uncheck Open "safe" files after downloading in the program's General preferences. This will prevent installer packages - whether real or malicious - from launching automatically.

Finally, if an installer claiming to be a Flash Player installer appears, users should be very careful to ensure that they did, indeed, download it from Adobe's web site. If not, they should quit the installer.

VirusBarrier X6 protects users from this malware with malware definitions dated September 26, 2011 or later. VirusBarrier X6's real-time scanner will detect the file when it is downloaded, and its Anti-Spyware protection will block any connections to remote servers if a user has installed the Trojan horse. VirusBarrier Express and VirusBarrier Plus, available exclusively from the Mac App Store, detect this malware with malware definitions dated September 26, 2011 or later, but these programs do not have a real-time scanner, due to limitations imposed by the Mac App Store; users should scan their Macs after they have updated to the latest malware definitions, or manually scan any installer packages they have downloaded if they seem suspicious.

Speed is measured using the video camera, both through motion detection and analysis of a recorded video. The new object size tool eliminates the need to know the distance to the object. New is a second, complementary speed measurement tool.

Stockholm, Sweden - Kaiser & Kaiser today is pleased to announce speedClock 3.1 for iPhone and iPad a significant update to their unique utility that uses the device's built-in video camera to automatically measure the speed of any object, and the distance to any point. Speed is measured using the motion sensing of the video camera, timing the interval between the object entering and leaving the frame. The updated version also features a new video based speed tool that is ideal for catching small fast objects like balls. Because it relies for its operation on a built-in video camera, the app is presently compatible with iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4 and iPad 2. The full support for iPad 2 is new in 3.1.

speedClock makes it easy to measure the speed of cars, boats, skaters, skiers, cyclists, running dogs, models, tennis serves, baseball pitches, football free-kicks, etc. The user simply holds up their iPhone, and allows the app to automatically measure the speed of any object passing through the frame of the viewing screen. The distance to the object can be entered before, or after, the measurement. Alternatively the distance can be taken from object itself.

Sensitivity controls are included to compensate for small objects, background motion, or camera shake. With the snap shot and the auto-reset functions, users can set up the iPhone to continuously measure the speed and save an image of everything that passes.

New is a second, complementary speed measurement tool. A short video is recorded and through some sophisticated image analysis the moving object is isolated and enhanced. The user can then align the object taken from different video frames by dragging a slider. The speed is interactively presented while dragging. This addition means that speedClock now can analyze the speed of anything that can be recorded by the iPhone video camera.

The first step in making a reliable speed measurement is getting a good estimate of the distance between the user and the point through which the object will travel. speedClock therefore has two complimentary distance tools: One is an optical rangefinder that uses the size of a known object (e.g. the height of a person) to calculate the distance. In the other tool the user enters their own height and then tilts the device to exactly match the horizontal line on the screen with the point on the ground to be measured.

A third alternative, that is new in 3.1, is to measure a size on the image that speedClock automatically takes at each measurement. The user sets the size and adjusts the two arrows so they point to the ends of the object and the distance is automatically calculated. This is especially useful when it is difficult to determine where and how far away an object passes. Examples are airplanes (model or full size), boats and skiers on a wide slope.

In OS X Lion, Apple has added a new font called Apple Color Emoji with hundreds of colored emoticons, icons and other symbols. With the new version of PopChar, you can now browse the beautifully designed color symbols in Apple Color Emoji, search for particular ideograms by name, and insert them as characters in applications that know how to handle color fonts.

Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) or newer is required to use the full potential of the "Emoji" set.

Availability and Ordering:
The current versions of Typinator and PopChar X require Mac OS X 10.4 or newer and are fully compatible with OS X Lion. For all Ergonis products, we recommend upgrading to the most recent release versions for usage on OS X Lion.

Typinator and PopChar X can be purchased securely on the Ergonis Software website. The upgrade to current versions is free for all customers who purchased in the last 2 years. All customers who purchase an upgrade or new license of PopChar or Typinator now, will get the next major versions, PopChar 6.0 or Typinator 5.0, for free. Instead of purchasing PopChar or Typinator separately, you can save money by ordering the Macility Productivity Bundle, which includes both products plus the keyboard shortcut helper KeyCue.
