With the Twitter explosion and the social service's incorporation directly into iOS 5, there have been more and more Twitter apps offering a variety of features. Tweetstreams' special niche is real-time monitoring of multiple topics. At launch, the app invites the user to create one of three different types of streams, based on Keywords, Trends (by country), or People.
For example, the app advises, "Enter the keywords you want to track. Use commas to separate your keywords if you want to match any keyword, or use spaces to separate keywords if you want to match all keywords." Once created, each topic in each of the three types of streams becomes a Tweetstream. The names of the Tweetstreams appear in the upper tab bar as the tweets begin scrolling down.
Extremely helpful in real-time monitoring of multiple topics, is the ability to set the app to display only English language tweets, and the continuously variable controls in Settings. The familiar blue slider, identical with those used in the Preferences in iOS 5, allows the user to control the speed of the incoming Tweetstream from very slow to very fast. At any setting, the tweets per minute will increase with the number of topics being monitored. Similarly, a slider control permits users to limit incoming tweets to those who have a following of more than one million or any number below.
"Tweetstreams is ideal for real-time monitoring of brands, keywords, current trends, individual accounts, groups of people and more," stated independent developer Juye Symons. "You can even monitor Tweetstreams that represent the intersection of multiple search terms, such as "iPad - London - Medicine."

In essence, what the new appsplit offers is a platform for anyone and everyone who wants to get involved in the creation, development and business of apps. By "everyone" we truly mean it in the literal sense of the word. Everyone from app developers, entrepreneurs, fans, users, app owners, inventors, investors to the average Joe on the streets can now be part of the world of apps.
Our newly-improved platform gives people this opportunity through our three types of campaigns: Fund campaigns, Sell campaigns, and Develop campaigns.
Fund:
With Fund campaigns, appsplit offers a crowdsourcing platform built specifically for apps. If you're familiar with Kickstarter, this type of campaign on appsplit is like Kickstarter for apps.
App developers or owners can choose to start a Fund Campaign on appsplit and choose either an All-Or-None type of Fund campaign or an Open type of Fund campaign. After setting a funding goal, users can then fund your app. With All-Or-None Fund campaigns, the app developer or owner only gets the money if the funding goal is reached. An Open Fund campaigns means that the app developer gets whatever is raised.
With each Fund campaign on appsplit, the app developer describes why the amount set in the funding goal is needed. Furthermore, the app developer can indicate a set of rewards that users get based on the amount they give towards the funding goal. For example, an app developer can indicate that the names of individuals who gave $100 or more will get their names added to the credit of the app.
What differentiates us from just being a Kickstarter for apps is that we allow PayPal transactions for our campaigns. We also allow international campaigns opening the doors to more people being involved in the process. Furthermore, we have two other types of campaigns - Develop and Sell - which crowdsourcing platforms like Kickstarter or IndieGoGo do not have.
Sell:
The Sell campaign on appsplit is app owners who may be looking to completely sell their app or a percent of their app.
Why sell? A developer or owner may choose to sell apps through appsplit in order to start a new project. Alternatively, a developer or owner may want to cash in a bit on their investment and may choose to sell a percentage of ownership of their app.
Develop:
Have a great idea for an app? We've got the Develop campaign for you. This type of campaign opens the doors for anyone with a potentially game-changing app idea, but does not have the technical skills or the funding for development, to get their app ideas off the ground.
With the Develop campaign on appsplit, individuals can find freelancers to work on their app in exchange for a percent of ownership of the app. Individuals can look for freelancers in any area they want. They may be looking for designers, developers, marketers, testers, or writers to work on their apps for part ownership.

The preview version has a beginner level with many more levels planned.
Founder Nat Ramachandran cites an article by Professor Greg Mankiw of Harvard in The NewYork Times as the inspiration behind the creation of the app. In a NewYork Times column of 2010, Prof. Mankiw writes, "With the rise of 401(k) plans and the looming problems with Social Security, Americans are increasingly in charge of their own financial future. But are they up to the task?" Mr. Ramachandran continued, "In the aftermath of the 2008 Financial Crisis it struck me that traditional ways of learning about finance are too abstract and disconnected."
Mr Ramachandran says, "I thought of coming up with a solution which could be fun and educational. Me, and my co-founder, Kannan Mahalingam, were inspired to create Wonga Bazaar, where you can learn basic finance through role playing and experience the fluctuations of a business cycle without bankrupting your 401(k). Chipmunk Physics, the high performance 2D physics engine popular on iOS, has reached version 6.1. Chipmunk has been used on nearly every platform and in hit games like the IGF Finalist: Waking Mars. Chipmunk Pro now features approximate convex decomposition, allowing easy use of concave shapes, a multithreaded solver, and enhancements to iOS multitouch APIs. The open source library features block based iterators, nearest point queries, and automatic convex hull generation.
Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota - Howling Moon Software is thrilled to announce Chipmunk 6.1, the latest feature release of the popular 2D physics engine. Chipmunk is a high performance, MIT licensed 2D physics library with unmatched performance and an ever increasing set of advanced features. Written in C99, bindings and ports exist to over a dozen languages. Including an official binding to Objective-C that makes it fit right in on the iPhone. Chipmunk has been used on many platforms including the PC (Mac/Win/Linux), iPhone, Android, Symbian, DS, PSP, and even the Wii. The list of award winning games using Chipmunk continues to grow, as IGF Finalist Waking Mars is added to the list.
This update adds several enhancements to both the open source and Pro versions of Chipmunk. Convex hull generation, block based iterators, and nearest point queries are now part of the Chipmunk API. Users who have upgraded to Chipmunk Pro now have access to our approximate convex decomposition API, which quickly turn complicated concave shapes into convex shapes suitable for simulation, which much better results than simple triangle fan techniques. A pthread based, multi-threaded solver is out of beta and ready to accelerate your game on multi-core systems (including mobile devices!). Improvements have been made to ChipmunkMultiGrab, making touch control easier than ever.

* Bug: Fixed a minor memory leak for sleeping bodies when destroying a space
* Misc: Point queries are now deprecated in preference to point queries
* Misc: cpSpatialIndexPointQuery() was redundant and has been removed. Use cpSpatialIndexQuery () instead
* Misc: cpShape*Query() functions now accept a NULL info pointer if you don't want detailed query info
* Misc: The enableContactGraph property of cpSpace is deprecated and always be true
* Misc: Added a new demos of the convex hull functions and a self balancing Unicycle
Chipmunk is especially popular on the iOS platform, where it is integrated into other game libraries such as Cocos2D. The Objective-C bindings also include a large collection of useful functions that are iOS specific.
