Re: Verizon to kill unlimited data plans for existing subscribers

What do they say about real estate? Well, it is the same with cell phone service, "It's all about location, location, location!" What works well in __your__ area, and where you travel frequently. Asking on this list will not tell you what works well in your location, unless you tell us where you are, and you get responses specific to your area.

That is not the same as asking about what plans people have found works in certain situations.

If you're on wifi it doesn't come out of your data anyway.

iMessage question

Posted by: "Devitt" devittad@comcast.net   devittad

I sent a group iMessage to two different people who both have iPhones. It went as a text message rather than an iMessage. Is that normal? When I sent a later iMessage to one of the recipients of the group iMessage, it also went as an SMS text.

I checked settings and all is normal. I tried closing the messaging app from the bottom tray. When I try to iMessage either of these people I still get the green text rather than the blue iMessage. Any ideas what is going on? Or how I can fix it?

Are THEIR iPhones running iOS 5, and do they have iMessaging properly set up on them?

The way I understand it is if they have iMessage turned off, or if it
can't determine that they are logged into iMessage, then it will
default to SMS.

Your friends may not have set up iMessage or they may be out of the data coverage area when you tried sending.

Also, if either of you don't have good service, it will revert back to text instead iMessage. I have that happen frequently.

My Iphone 4 started having the flash (camera) each time the phone rings with the ring tone.

Anyone know of this happening before?

That is an option on the phone that has evidently been turned on. Go to "Settings">"General">"Accessibility". Then scroll down to "LED Flash for Alerts". It's probably on. Turn it off, and all should be well.
