Apple releases an updated version of iOS 5.1.1 for the iPhone 4 GSM Posted: 25 May 2012 06:43 PM PDT As 9to5 Mac first reported, Apple has released an updated version of iOS 5.1.1 for the iPhone 4 GSM. The build for this latest version is 9B208, while the previous version was 9B206. Interestingly enough, the release is only for the iPhone 4 GSM, and it’s likely a small bug fix given its slight build number difference. Either way, we recommend that you hold off on updating until given the all clear is sounded with regard to jailbreak compatibility. Make sure your save your iOS 5.1.1 SHSH blobs so that you can take advantage of a future downgrade if need be.(...) Here’s Siri telling John Malkovich a really dirty joke Posted: 25 May 2012 04:05 PM PDT So, the new Siri advertisements starring John Malkovich. At the end of one of the ads, the actor asks Siri to tell a joke. She comes up with a line that’s long in the tooth, giving him the “two iPhones walk into a bar…” routine. What’s that? Not funny, you say? Didn’t crack me up either. There’s a better version…(...) "Here’s Siri telling John Malkovich a really dirty joke" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |

Apple’s Siri and Samsung’s S-Voice go head to head (video) Posted: 25 May 2012 03:00 PM PDT The Verge was first out of the gate today with its exhaustive review of Samsung’s Galaxy S III handset. A section of the piece provides an interesting side-by-side comparison of two intelligent personal assistants, Siri on the iPhone 4S and Samsung’s darling dubbed S-Voice. Both features work as advertised (well, most of the time), amuse with canned responses, delight with factual answers – all the while letting you converse with your handset using natural language rather than remember a bunch of hard-coded commands. Siri and S-Voice also score similarly in handling common tasks such as pulling local weather, creating appointments and reminders and what not. And of course S-Voice is a blatant rip off of Siri’s user interface. Apple’s digital secretary appears to be snappier at running queries and S-Voice at times has a hard time understanding what you want. And here’s a nice side-by-side comparison video laying it all out for you…(...) "Apple's Siri and Samsung's S-Voice go head to head (video)" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |

How to run Absinthe 2.0 on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Posted: 25 May 2012 10:30 AM PDT It has been brought to our attention that Absinthe 2.0 doesn’t work normally on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. When you click on the app icon to open it, nothing happens, and the Absinthe interface doesn’t load. That’s not entirely a surprise considering that Mountain Lion is still in beta, but more than a few of you have expressed troubles with the issue. Likely, this was just an oversight by the hard working folks behind the Chronic Dev Team, and it will probably be fixed in an updated version of Absinthe. Until then, it’s incredibly easy to work around this problem and run Absinthe 2.0 successfully to untether jailbreak your iOS 5.1.1 device. We show you how inside…(...)
