4S Bluetooth Question Please

I know that using Bluetooth will shorten battery life considerably. My question is this. If Bluetooth is turned on in the phone but not connected to any device will the battery go down at the same rate as when the Bluetooth is turned on AND connected to a device? One more derivative question please. How about if the Bluetooth is turned on, IS connected but the device is not in use?

My guess is that the same applies as for 3G: it uses power even if you're
not using the connection, because it's continuously broadcasting a signal
*and* looking for possible connections. The power used is less than for 3G
but I doubt that it's insignificant.

Would a torch save its battery if no one's using its light... :-)
Bluetooth keeps transmitting "yoo-hoo!" as long as its icon shows on
the status bar (top right).
Obviously real data traffic will use far more power, and thus drain
the battery more quickly.
The "connected to a device" and "device not in use" matters happen to
be occupying me, as I am (re)discovering Bluetooth as a way of
connecting devices (to my iPad and to several Windows computers).
Like:
I'm not yet sure if "pairing" a headset with one computer prevents it
from being paired with another. Same with "connecting". And then there
is the matter of the "services" involved.
Is the "pairing" like "formally introducing" or like "marrying"?
(Apart from the definition of marriage...) ;-)
Is "connected" like "married" or like "assembled"?
If there is any exclusivity, does that apply to a service or to all
services that a given connection may offer or use?
A matter that I should face is the possibility (or not) of intrusion
by hackers at the other side of a wall.
As long as I haven't that clear, I keep my Bluetooth off for the time
that I don't actively use it.

I find that bluetooth definitely causes the battery to go down at a faster
rate when there is no bluetooth device connected. I think it is because it
is constantly searching for a device to connect to.
I can't answer the other question as I don't usually have the bluetooth on
when not using a bluetooth device. I did ask my husband and he says he
doesn't see much battery difference when bluetooth device is connected but
not in use.

I've attached the photo. On my iPhone 3 it used to adjust and become
bigger text size. Now on iPhone 4s it is not happening. Can someone
help me here. If I double click the text becomes big but the text does
not auto adjust within the screen area. How can I achieve this?
