(There's nothing quite as tacky, in my mind, as getting a greeting card where the address shows my last name first, particularly on a Hallmark card.). Then, make sure the labels were to be sorted by last name.

And I have one (else I wouldn't have asked the question), but it's not obvious to me that "Contacts" can print to it, or at least configuration of the print driver to permit that for a group of (different) addresses is not intuitive.

King of procrastinators that I am, it's not too late for someone here to save me a bit of work getting out my Holiday Cards if there's a way to do this :-)

Howdy and Merry.

Hal, you should be able to print from Address Book to a Dymo Label
Printer.

The Dymo is included both in Page in the Address Book print dialog and
it's included as a driver in Print & Scan settings.

You may need to first "add" the Dymo printer to your Printer queue
list. You can do this in the Address Book print dialog using the
Printer text box and the Add Printer command.

In Add Printer, try the IP icon on the Toolbar. Change the Protocol to
IPP. When you change to IPP then the Print Using text box becomes
active and you can "Choose a Driver or Printer Model." Then choose
Select Printer Software command and a LONG list should appear. Scroll
down the list and find Dymo Label Printer. Click OK to add printer.

Remember you are creating a print queue by doing this.

You might also have to browse to the Dymo web site and see if they have
newer printing software that you could download for a specific model
Dymo printer.

Here's a decent list of instructions for printing to a Dymo from
Address Book:

Good luck!

Address Book is designed to print labels easily:

In the Address Book window, select your address book or a group in the Group column, or select the specific names in the Name column that you want to print.
Choose File --> Print.
In the Print dialog box you may have to click on the Standard/Advanced button
Choose Mailing Labels from the Style pop-up menu.
Click on the Layout tab.
Choose the Avery label type that you like.
Configure the other print options as you want, then click Print.

However, if you don't want to use Address Book, check out:

Microsoft Word has a labels wizard built-in.
File --> Project Gallery --> Labels --> Mailing Label Wizard

I agree! In fact, I have a LaserWriter 16/600 that I am still using, and have always used, with generic toner. Which is why I'm a bit surprised and disappointed that the Xerox doesn't like generic.

But as Les points out, too, quality of the generics may be the issue.

All of a sudden the digital clock (date/time system preferences) isn't going. If I click on it, it catches up, then sits there until I click on it again. This is a new one for me. Any ideas?

Do you have a Macintosh that is more than a few years old for which you have never replaced the PRAM battery? If the answer is "yes" then the first thing that I would try would be replacing the PRAM battery.

If you tell me the model and year of Mac that you have, I can tell you which PRAM battery you need, where to get it for the least amount of money, and give you a URL for instructions on how to replace it.

I have a strange problem that started sometime recently, Can't pinpoint the
exact time, but it was after I installed Mountain Lion.

I have a mac pro , 6 core, with 16 gig of ram running Mountain Lion. It
will be 2 years old next month.

I do a lot of work with photos, and after I am through processing them in
Photoshop, they are saved to two folders, one resized for posting to my
gallery, and one for me to archive. The problem occurs in both folders. Some
images are readily seen in the folders.Others, only have their file manes
visible. If i click on those, the picture will appear in preview, and I can
also upload those invisible images to my gallery, or send them in email,
and they will be seen.

I have no idea what is causing this , or how to remedy it. I have rebooted,
repaired permission, looked under View, but don't see what I can change.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is this a bug in Mt. Lion, or just
something in my machine? This is kinda driving me crazy.

Jeannie
