I use it on my IPod and have no problem. Try deleting and reinstalling. Remember to sign in to your account. Good luck.

I have an 80GB 5th Generation iPod. There are separate menu items titled
"Playlists" "Artists" "Albums" "Songs" "Podcasts" "Genres"
"Composers"....

Individual podcasts are shown in the listing by "Podcast" and "Songs" so
if songs are played in alphabetical order, a Podcast may play as well.
How do I remove Podcasts from the Songs menu?

I'm currently at work, away from my Macs and therefore unable to completely verify the procedure, but here it is to the best of my recollection.

In iTunes (on your computer), right-click on a podcast and choose "Get info" from the contextual menu. Then click on the "Options" tab. Towards the bottom of the resulting page you should see an item labeled "Media type", click there and choose "Podcast". Click "APPLY"

After you've changed the media type on your files you'll need to re-sync you're iPod.

Thanks Ryan. I followed the steps you clearly outlined. I verified- in my iTunes 11.0.1 the "Media Kind" for each of the podcasts is PODCAST, yet the podcasts also appear in the SONGS menu. I am stumped?!

I'm still at work for a few more hours, so I can't check out the interface on my old-school iPods, I just have my Touch, iPad and iPhone with me now. I'll check mine when I get home.

In the meantime, have you tried sorting your media by artist?
