You say "several libraries". Are these held on the same computer and
accessed from the same iTunes using the Option key on starting iTunes?

Just my opinion plus $4 will buy a latte at Starbucks, but why would you want several Previous Libraries? I only want one library. I back this up with Time Machine, including everything else on my HD.

If I want to listen to only targeted songs I make a "Favorites playlist" of songs from my library, then select this playlist and play them, or select another playlist I make of "Blues or Beatles or Oingo Boingo".

Import all songs from these "previous libraries". Trash all "previous libraries". Then use Dupin or Dupin Lite to delete all duplicate songs in your remaining library. Use only one library.

Just my opinion though. jr

Yes Otto. Two libraries on the same computer and accessed from the same iTunes using the Option key on starting iTunes. Normally, I will get an option box telling me I have purchased music not showing in my open library and asking if I want in downloaded. I hit no and that's the end of that. With this upgrade, I wasn't given an option. The cloud music that is shown is not downloaded - just showing it's available. I want to get rid of it.

I have the same problem with Facebook. If I want to use Safari to view it, I have to refresh/reload the page after almost every post I read. It's rare that I don't have to reload the page. I've switched to Firefox for Facebook. I do not have the problem with any other website, just Facebook.

In the last few days I was finding that Safari Web Content (on a 10.6.8, Dual Quad Mac Pro) was maxing out my processors to the point of getting a beachball and I was unable to use Safari at all.
I would wait a minute or so and still had the beachball so I would quit the process via the Activity Monitor. The would only keep things under control for a short while once the open Safari windows had all refreshed.
So, Googling w/Firefox, I found a posting in the Apple Support Communities that has a surprising "cure" for this. I have no idea how this person figured this out, but all one has to do is log out of their Google account.

In searching the MSC archives here, I came across a thread from Feb. where folks were having issues with Safari Web Content, but saw no answers as to how to stop this Safari Web Content activity.

Is this an issue that went away in 10.7 or 10.8, hence no further postings on the subject? Has anyone found another method to deal with the issue?

I haven't noticed an issue w/FB but it seems to happen with blogs mostly. I was reading a blog today and got the beachball despite being logged out of Google. So that trick is NOT a panacea.

So while looking at this beachball I could not scroll or get to other open pages/tabs. I WAS able to open a new Safari window so I decided to check and see if I was logged into Google. When I clicked the Google link in my toolbar, I got this message.

So rather than using Activity Monitor to quit the runaway Safari Web Content, I went ahead and clicked "Visit Page". All open windows/tabs refreshed and Safari Web Content went back to normal. All is well now till the next time it occurs.

True about using Firefox. It may become my default browser if I can't find an answer or advice on how to diagnose this as this is now becoming a daily issue.

Here's some "evidence" of the runaway Safari Web Content being caused by blog sites, for whatever reason. This while researching another bug I'm trying to chase down!
Oi. My processors don't get that much of a constant workout from CS5 and multi-layered images!

Thanks for the heads up.

The best way to get Apple's attention is with feedback. In this case specifically at

http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

As they used to say in Chicago, "Vote early, and vote often." Although, I do try to use a new logical argument each time I send in feedback, to keep the signal to noise ratio, good.

At least they added back Find Duplicates this week. Now if those who loved Cover Flow can scream loud enough . . .

I do not boot with all my external drives on as I don't always need to access their contents, so there's no need to power them up.
When using the Finder to find something, whether it be a folder or file, and all the externals are powered up (i.e. ON), I will get this message when clicking on the search results when the Finder has found the file or folder I was looking for.

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z210/emanphoto/Screenshot2012-12-16at12514AM.png

I click "Delete Alias" usually and then click the SAME search result in the same Finder window and magically it is found. These search results seem to always reside on one of my 3 externals.

Any ideas as to why this happens and why the search results are referred to as an "Alias"?
It never happened, IIRC, on my old G5 running 10.5. I'm using 10.6.8 now on a Mac Pro.

Thanks
