Totmob Releases Tunes4Fun - Elves, a Modern Electronic Simon Says Game - Published on 08/21/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Totmob, a division of Kinetics, has announced the release of its Tunes4Fun - Elves mobile game for iOS and Android. Tunes4Fun is a lighthearted version of the classic Simon Says Game, where the player's memory will be tested. Instead of a round game device with four colored buttons, the game space is a snowy scene with Santa and three cheeky elves. The user can choose from 3 different sound types and the game goes on until the user presses the wrong button.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - Totmob, a division of Kinetics, has announced the release of its Tunes4Fun - Elves mobile game for iOS and Android. The game, which is available for iOS and Android tablet devices and smart phones with larger screens, was launched on iTunes and Google Play earlier today.

A quick YouTube video is available.

"Our team is excited to have produced a fresh and lighthearted take on one of the favorite games of all times," said Orlando Shorter, Founder of Kinetics and Totmob. "We hope our electronic version of the classic "Simon Says" game will challenge and delight casual game players around the world."

Visual treatment:
The game has very attractive yet simple graphics. There is a snow/winter theme that is carried throughout the game, with little details like random generated snowdrops, and a snow scene with Santa and three Elves. The characters are humorous in design, and rendered in a paper cutout style, with a faint texture and shading, and appropriate animation. The menus are very clean and pleasant to operate. The game play is enhanced with little visual cues that complement the sounds.

Sound effects:
The sound effects in this game have been carefully crafted to be fun and a bit cheeky. There are three sound options to choose from for the gameplay:

1 Greetings - Each characters uses a greeting in a different language Hi (English), Nihao (Chinese), Hola (Spanish) and Ciao (Italian).

2 Notes - Each character says "La" in a different note;

3 Exclamation - Each character lets out a different exclamation, such as "Haha!", "Hoho!", "Heehee!"... When the player makes a mistake, the character he's clicked by mistake lets out a loud burp.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is very simple and follows the Simon Says mechanics: the game builds a sound sequence note by note / turn by turn, which the player has to match. A note forgotten or out of place ends the round. Also you have a maximum amount of time to recall each note. There's a ranking feature where your top scores get recorded.

Feature Highlights:
* Casual game
* Simple Gameplay
* Three different sound sets
* amusing sounds
* Tidy visuals
* Ages 5 and upwards
* For large screens such as Tablets and the Galaxy S and iPhone

HealthTeacher Creates Anti-Bullying Mobile Game Awesome Upstander! - Published on 08/21/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HealthTeacher has released Awesome Upstander!, a fun mobile game that teaches kids how to stand up to bullies in a safe and positive way. Filled with challenges, levels, hidden objects and fun sound effects, Awesome Upstander! is designed to engage kids just like other popular interactive games while promoting social good. The app offers a highly entertaining play experience for kids while teaching them they have the power to diminish bullying by banning together as upstanders.

Nashville, Tennessee - To proactively address the growing bullying epidemic in the U.S., HealthTeacher, the interactive leader in youth health, has created Awesome Upstander!, a fun mobile game that teaches kids how to stand up to bullies in a safe and positive way.

"Awesome Upstander! offers a highly entertaining play experience for kids while teaching them they have the power to diminish bullying by banning together as upstanders."

Dr. Susan Lipkins, child psychologist and leading expert in the development of Awesome Upstander!, believes playing this game can set the standards for teaching elementary-aged kids how to be an upstander, a person who knows how to intervene in a bully situation in a safe and positive manner. The game reinforces the concept of respecting and protecting others. Learning these skills during the elementary years will diminish the severity and frequency of bullying during the middle school years when it is at its peak.

"This game is perfectly placed in terms of the child's social and emotional development," Dr. Susan Lipkins said. "It teaches kids, in a meaningful way, how to make a difference. This is the first game that reinforces pro-social behavior in an age-appropriate way."

Bullying most often occurs where adult supervision is low or absent: schoolyards, cafeterias, bathrooms, hallways, and stairwells. According to the U.S. Department of Justice's "Bullying in Schools" report, only 10 to 20 percent of non-involved students provide any real help when another student is victimized.

"Awesome Upstander! is evidence that we can make learning about the serious issue of bullying both educational and highly entertaining," said Scott McQuigg, CEO of HealthTeacher. "HealthTeacher is harnessing the power of interactive devices and gaming to address the important physical, social and emotional health issues affecting our kids."

Filled with challenges, levels, hidden objects and fun sound effects, Awesome Upstander! is designed to engage kids just like other popular interactive games while promoting social good. At the Awesome Upstander! website, teachers can download supporting material for their classroom, and parents can download resources for teaching their kids about upstanding at home.

"Awesome Upstander! offers a highly entertaining play experience for kids while teaching them they have the power to diminish bullying by banning together as upstanders," said John Herbold, VP Product of HealthTeacher. "Kids tell us Awesome Upstander! is fun to play, and parents say it gives them peace of mind knowing their children are learning how to deal with an issue affecting the emotional and physical safety of their kids."

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 4.2 or later
* 37.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Awesome Upstander! can be purchased in the Apple App Store in the Games cateogry or Google Play for $.99 (USD), or played online.

The Padcaster Is Now Available - Published on 08/21/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Padcaster LLC today announces its namesake product, The Padcaster, and accompanying Lenscaster add-on are officially shipping. Designed for video journalists, videographers, DSLR shooters and more, the brand new Padcaster transforms an iPad into an on-the-go production studio, providing an easy and professional way for users to create stunning videos on the iPad, from storyboarding and shooting to editing and sharing. The possibilities are virtually endless.

New York City, New York - The Padcaster LLC is thrilled to announce its namesake product, The Padcaster, and accompanying Lenscaster add-on are officially shipping. Designed for video journalists, videographers, DSLR shooters and more, the brand new Padcaster transforms an iPad into an on-the-go production studio, providing an easy and professional way for users to create stunning videos on the iPad, from storyboarding and shooting to editing and sharing. Since it was introduced to the film and production world at NAB 2012 in Las Vegas this past April, The Padcaster has already received rave reviews.

"I had an opportunity to test a pre-production version of the Padcaster / Lenscaster combo, and I have to say that I'm impressed," said Steven Sande of The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW). After a thorough review, he concluded, "Anyone who is interested in using an iPad for filmmaking or broadcasting - either as an amateur or professionally - should consider getting the Padcaster. It's a brilliantly conceived and well-built accessory that should be extremely popular with the video and filmmaking crowd."

Perfect for professional and amateur videographers alike, the Padcaster is an aluminum frame with a urethane insert that snugly holds your iPad for a secure and solid feel. Threaded holes lining the edges of the frame allow filmmakers to attach external mics, lights and countless other accessories to enhance their finished product. A standard -20 screw thread and locking-pin design centered on the bottom of the Padcaster lets users connect it to a professional tripod, monopod or shoulder mount for easy, smooth filming.

"We've gotten a lot of great feedback from the community since The Padcaster made its debut at NAB," comments Josh Apter, founder and president, The Padcaster, LLC. "We're very excited to get The Padcaster in the hands of filmmakers and creatives who are passionate about exploring new media for producing film, not only to hear what they think of the finished product, but also to see what they're able to create with the help of The Padcaster."

The Padcaster's aluminum frame can also be used as a standalone DSLR cage. Filmmakers can rig a DSLR or other video camera into the cage, enabling them to attach numerous accessories to enhance their shoot. In the future, Apter plans to design urethane inserts to fit other popular tablets and iOS devices, like an iPhone or Android.

Unlimited Possibilities with The Padcaster
As the iPad increasingly makes its way into the world of production and post, the Padcaster serves as the perfect gadget to transform it not just into a mobile production studio, but also into the perfect in-studio or on-location assistant. In addition to an iPad case and mount, The Padcaster can also serve as:

* On-set monitor
* Teleprompter
* Film slate
* Portable light source

With its versatile frame, add-on capabilities and ability to house the world's most advanced tablet, the possibilities are virtually endless when The Padcaster is in the hands and imaginations of industry creatives.

Padcaster Accessories - The Lenscaster:
For videographers looking for more advanced filming options than what the new iPad or iPad 2 cameras offer, Apter created the Lenscaster - a separate accessory that attaches to the Padcaster and allows users to shoot footage on the iPad with a more powerful lens. Additional lenses can be attached via the Lenscaster to create a wider field of view or bring telephoto capabilities to the iPad's fixed lens. And coupled with a 35MM lens adapter (not included), shooters can use cinema lenses to add shallow depth of field and better focusing for a DSLR-like feel.

The total Padcaster package transforms the iPad from consumer device to content creator with the ability to produce film-quality footage as an all-in-one production studio on the go.

Padcaster Specifications:
* Aluminum frame and urethane insert
* Color: frame - brushed aluminum; insert - black
* Length: 12.5 inches / 31.75 centimeters
* Width: 10.31 inches / 26.19 centimeters

Six Dimensions of Mobile Readiness - Self-Assessment Tool - Published on 08/22/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Polymash Inc. has designed a mobile readiness assessment tool for people with app ideas who don't know where to start. The tool aims to help people determine their own state of readiness so they are more aware of how they can be best prepared to create successful apps. The tool came about as a result of hundreds of conversations with clients who had great app ideas, but lacked the know-how to make it happen.

New York, New York - Polymash Inc. has designed a free tool for individuals or small businesses who want to publish apps, but don't know where to start. The tool is especially helpful for people with good content, for example: published authors or aspiring authors; consultants or trainers with their own unique subject matter or methodology; photographers and videographers; professional practitioners in health and fitness, wellness, education, human sciences to name just a few.

The Mobile Readiness tool covers six dimensions of readiness that, once completed, produce clarity for the individual about their current state of mobile readiness. The report it generates provides invaluable tips to help kick-start a mobile strategy. The tool's intention is to provide a very real look at what it takes. The tool helps the individual (or business) to:

* Translate great ideas and visions into a real actions
* Identify existing strengths as a starting point
* Think strategically about the six dimensions covered in the tool and the alignment between each
* Appreciate what it takes to offer engaging end user experiences wherever users are
* Clarify their market, the resources needed and marketing effort required
* Inform themselves about current mobile trends globally
* Learn about the different app market places and devices

Polymash draws on data sets from its own experience and a cross-section of mobile media and technology research organizations, resulting in a white paper with the most up-to-date facts and mobile trends in 2012.

After two years of building relationships and educating content owners, and with nine successful apps and a #2 ranked app in the Business category on iTunes, the Polymash team has been able to distill the key drivers of successful app creation to six major dimensions.

Their self assessment tool realistically shows what it takes to make a successful app in a still relatively new, yet rapidly growing market place. The self-assessment is not for the faint-hearted. Yet, with good content, a strong desire and a blend of realism and strategic effort, Polymash states that with their guided approach, the chances of producing successful apps for content owners and their users is very high.

1st full-featured professional camera app for iPad released! Price-drop - Published on 08/22/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cocologics today introduces ProCamera HD 1.0, the new iPad version of its popular and professional full-featured camera app. ProCamera HD inherited the full suite of professional capabilities and ease-of-use from the leading iPhone app. And it adds several special features just for iPad and its HD quality, including the new patent-pending SnapTrigger, Lightbox, Expert Mode, RapidFire/Sport modes and much more. To celebrate its release, ProCamera HD for iPad is now on sale for a limited time.

San Francisco, California - Cocologics, the ProCamera team, is pleased to release ProCamera HD for iPad. It lets users get the most out of their iPad camera for both photos and videos! To celebrate the launch the price of ProCamera HD is dropped from $4.99 to $2.99.

ProCamera (for iPhone) is the most professional full-featured camera app available. It has gotten numerous awards and is loved by over a million users. ProCamera HD (for iPad) inherited the full suite of ProCamera's professional capabilities and ease of use and even added several new and unique features to take full advantage of iPad.

"iPad 3 has a dilemma," Jens Daemgen, CEO of Cocologics said. "Despite the big jump in the camera hardware quality compared to iPad 2, it is still inferior to the camera of the iPhone 4S. But most importantly, the size of the iPad creates the need for an optimized user experience and user interface. That's where we came in." ProCamera HD's new Expert Mode (patent pending) allows users to have a complete control over exposure, focus, and white balance. Of course it comes equipped with ProCamera's Anti-shake image stabilization for sharper photos, as well as a Self-timer with the special SnapTrigger functionality. So users can take much better photos and videos, and then take advantage of iPad 3' high-definition retina display.

Really unique is the SnapTrigger (patent pending) that is perfectly adapted to the iPad: Users decide where the control bar is located on the screen; this allows users to take photos and videos in their own way with a customized user interface. The new internal library 'Lightbox' allows users to save photos and videos a lot faster. 'Lightbox' also makes it easy to delete, share, and export multiple photos and videos.

Main features (camera & video):
* SnapTrigger (patent pending): Movable control bar to fit everyone's style
* Lightbox: Internal library, allows easy deleting, sharing, and exporting of multiple photos and videos
* VideoSnapshots: Take photos WHILE recording a video or in video mode
* Expert Mode 2.0 (patent pending): Enables precise control of exposure, focus and white balance - The new expert mode also enables locking and unlocking focus and/or exposure manually and independently
* Videozoom: Video recording with high-quality 6x zoom
* Full control over focus adjustment while recording video (either manually in expert mode or automatically with continuous focus mode ON or OFF)
* RapidFire mode and Sport mode: Both combined enables ultra-fast continuous burst shots
* Anti-shake image stabilizer
* Advanced geotagging (full EXIF data with compass direction)
* Self-timer and smart trigger (details on our website)
* Other highlights: QuickFlick Album, Datestamp, virtual horizon, alignment grids, maps view, detailed EXIF data display and many others

Support for Social Networks:
Sharing has never been easier. Upload your photos to Facebook, Twitter, flickr, and DropBox - individually or in bulk. Email sharing with multiple photos is also possible. New and unique in ProCamera HD is video sharing to DropBox - in full resolution.

There are more features coming soon.

The iPad is an essential travel companion, with its media-rich functionality. Now with ProCamera HD, iPad will become a primary camera for photos and videos, and social media sharing. ProCamera HD, together with ProCamera, will cover all your iDevice photography needs.

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad 2 and iPad 3
* Control over focus requires an iPad 3
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 8.7 MB

Pricing and Availability:
ProCamera HD 1.0 is having a special launch price of $2.99 USD reduced from its regular price of $4.99 (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photo & Video category. New Social App is Fun Without Fallout - Published on 08/22/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Winkage is a new app offering a unique way to chat with groups, post pics and meet new people within the same venue. Users check-in at a location, like Foursquare, and interact with other checked-in users within a Twitter-like discussion board called the ChatterBox. They can also send a Wink to anyone at anytime. If accepted, they start a private chat. Unlike other social media, Winkage doesn't leave a digital trail. The entire server is cleared everyday at 5 a.m. It's fun without fallout.

Chicago, Illinois - Winkage, a new iPhone and Android app, offers a unique way to chat with groups, post public pics and meet new people within the same venue, or just about anywhere people gather.

Users check-in with Winkage when they arrive at a location (similar to checking-in with Foursquare), which lets them interact within a Twitter-like discussion board called the "ChatterBox" with other Winkage users who are similarly checked-in. They can also send a personal "Wink" at anytime to anyone of the other people. If their wink is accepted, they start a private one-on-one chat. If the chat goes well, the users can eventually find each other or exchange contact info. If it doesn't, they can hit the "Eject" button.

Unlike other social media, Winkage doesn't leave a digital trail. "At 5 a.m. our entire server is wiped clean," said David DeGrazia, who with Bryant Gourdie co-founded the Chicago company. "It's complete fun without fallout."

Like any new social media, Winkage faces the challenge of getting enough users to make the experience work. Since launching late last month, Winkage has signed up users at Lollapalooza and other midwest festivals, but Mr. DeGrazia says the company's main focus for now is promoting Winkage on college campuses. He says Winkage works better than Facebook and Twitter for making instant social connections throughout a dorm, a bar, a concert hall or even a stadium. "A lot of college kids don't want to put their information out where their grandma, professor or future employer can see it," he said. While Mr. Gourdie added, "I think the fact that there's no history makes Winksters (Winkage users) more brave with their posts, and less timid when breaking-the-ice with someone who catches their eye."

Device Requirements:
* 3/4Gen iPhone, iPad, or 3/4Gen iPod touch
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 9.1 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Winkage 1.0 is free and available worldwide through the App Store in the Social Networking category.

iPad Games seeks to help Classrooms become more Collaborative and Social - Published on 08/22/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Classrooms of the future can potentially be more collaborative and team-based, thanks to two new iPad games. Newly launched Edinburgh-based developers Tigerface Games have worked with a number of Primary Schools and educators to produce a set of games designed to teach early age children social skills alongside standard literacy and numeracy skills. The developers hope that the games will encourage a new generation of children to be more confident learners and more effective contributors.

Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Classrooms of the future can potentially be more collaborative and team-based, thanks to two new iPad games. Newly launched edtech developers Tigerface Games have worked with a number of Primary Schools and educators to produce a set of games designed to teach early age children social skills alongside standard literacy and numeracy skills.

Equator is a two-person game where players need to make the same total using two different sums. The screen is split into two to encourage players to talk to each other. As the levels progress, players are introduced to multiplication, division and brackets. Players are rewarded with an in-game currency which allows them to customise their characters during the game.

Smash Party is a four-person game that displays multiple answers to the same question and the players have to find the right answer within a time limit. Designed for 5 to 7 year olds, the app includes a mixture of mini-games to do with spelling, number patterns and basic arithmetic.

The developers hope that the games will encourage a new generation of children to be more confident learners and to be much more effective contributors in a group situation.

Effective team-based work and collaboration has been identified as 21st Century skills to be taught in the Common Core Standards Framework used throughout the United States.

Kate Ho, Managing Director of Tigerface Games, said: "More schools are turning to new technologies such as the iPad to engage children in lower primary. Teachers are often trying to more innovative ways of promoting team-work and communication skills. We think that Equator and Smash Party are excellent games of bringing that to the classroom."

The two games will be launched on Thursday 23rd August 2012. The games are available for download now at a sale price of $3.99 and $4.99 (USD) from the Apple Apps Store.

Orderly puts your To-Dos in order using simple iPhone gestures - Published on 08/22/12

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tekton Technologies announces Orderly for iOS, with an intuitive user interface, that allows users to create and manage To-Dos using simple iPhone gestures in the most natural way, setting apart other similar Apps. Notes are displayed on one of three shelves using Apple's bookshelf metaphor: High Priority, Medium, and Low. Users can instantly view all the To-Dos, expand or contract them with pinch gestures, drag and drop between priorities, mark as complete, or swipe to delete.

San Jose, California - Tekton Technologies is pleased to announce Orderly 1.2 for iOS, their productivity app that lets users create To-Dos on sticky notes of any one of six different colors, typing in any of three different fonts. Once completed, notes are displayed on one of three shelves using Apple's bookshelf metaphor: High Priority, Medium, and Low. Users can instantly view all their To-Dos, expand and contract them with pinch gestures, edit items, change their priority, mark them as complete, or swipe them to delete. The app includes two full-screen bookshelves, Home and Work, allowing users to keep To-Dos posted according to priority and location.

The extraordinary simplicity, practicality, and design of Orderly sets it apart from the many To-Do apps available. Having concluded that pinches and swipes are ergonomically more efficient than taps (which require hitting a target button), Tekton Technologies has employed the fundamental principles of human factors to design a To-Do app that is highly efficient, instantly informative, and accommodate of the daily needs of real people. The learning curve for the app and all its features is about one minute.

For a quick demo please visit Orderly online.

Feature Highlights:
* Create a To-Do instantly
* Great usability using simple iPhone gestures
* Pinch to zoom in/out to have a quick glance of the To-Do
* Automatically prioritizes your To-Do based on the due date
* Long press to delete, or drag n' drop to move a To-Do to a different priority
* Swipe right to mark an item completed or swipe left to delete an item from the To-Do
* Supports two boards or views: a Home view and a Work view
* Set colors/fonts, priorities
* Can set recurring dates
* Instantly share a To-Do via SMS or email
* Once a To-Do is completed, it moves automatically to the archives, and you can browse through them when needed

At launch in portrait orientation, the app opens to either the Home or Work page (reversed with a page flip transition). Sticky notes go on one of three shelves, depending on priority: High, Medium, or Low. Users are free to invent their own color-coding for notes, as the app supplies all six of the standard sticky note colors (pale yellow, pale green, pale blue, pale orange, pale red, or white). Completed notes can have their priority set from the Scheduling Menu as a category (High, Medium, Low), or according to a Due Date (user selectable from the date picker). Also available is a Recurring category that can be set for Daily, Weekly, etc.

The colored, rectangular sticky notes are displayed three to a shelf, or nine to a page. Scroll dots indicate that more notes are viewable on that shelf by scrolling horizontally. Touching any note causes it to grow to fill the entire screen. The notes are clean and spacious holding just six items in full screen mode (before scrolling) and three items in shelf display mode. When enlarged, notes may be edited, and swiping left to right across any item brings up a Completed button beside the item. Touching the button dims the item, but does not delete it, check it, or cross it out. Swiping right to left brings up a Delete button, which removes the item with a text slide animation off the page.

The app includes many customization options including backgrounds, textures, colors, fonts, headings, priorities, etc. Sound effects can be turned on/off, and Archives (completed items) maintained up to 60 days. With a colorful, clean interface for posting, checking, editing, and completing To-Dos, Orderly breaks down long lists of reminders into easily manageable sticky notes.

Orderly is the most natural way to manage your To-Do lists using simple iPhone gestures. All your info is presented as simple sticky notes, so that you can create To-Dos and post them on your board, just like a sticky note. But this App allows you to prioritize your To-Dos, without the hassle of misplacing a note or forgetting an item, just because there are too many To-Dos to manage. The best part of the app is that Orderly automatically prioritizes your To-Dos by moving around those sticky notes.

Device Requirements:
* 3/4Gen iPhone, iPad, or 3/4Gen iPod touch
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 5.5 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Orderly 1.2 is $0.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Productivity category. Review copies are available on request.
