I have QuarkXpress 7.something that I used on my G4. Now I mostly use my Mac Mini Intel OS 10.7.5 and Quark & won't work on it. I seldom use Quark anymore but do have need of it sometimes, esp to update files I've already done. It would be nice not to have to switch back and forth between computers.

What's the best way to find a very cheap Quark 9.1 or above that will work on my Mac Mini?

IMHO, cheapest way out is to KEEP your G4 w Q7, if you rarely need Quark.
Save your work as a pdf for future viewing anywhere. I asked a web friend
to open and save a few old Q files for me in InDesign, but I have to keep
InDesign then, right? Most designer's left Quark within the past couple
of years anyways. Printer's must keep it on hand for odd Quark jobs.

And let me strongly agree with Chris on that.

I hate it when a company does that with their logo. I've worked for companies that attached their logo to every email, and so every time I opened an email from them, it downloaded yet another copy, every time.

If a person I knew did that, they would find themselves blacklisted, real fast.

Possibly... But note a lot of people, myself included, would consider
that inappropriate, to bloat my inbox with unwanted image attachments
with every email...

The problem persists...

Friend replaced image in his Contacts entry (the entry for himself) with a different image. Then he sends himself an email. In the Inbox the email has the old image associated with it.

We've re-edited his entry in Contacts, replacing the image with newer and different(er?) images but only the original is shown in Inbox when the message arrives.

How can I un-curse this Inbox?

Thanks,
Dave

Make your friend download the Onyx utility and delete caches from this

I've just downloaded Adobe Reader 11.

First, a gripe: the default download also downloads, installs, and sets Google Chrome to be the default browser. It may be a fine browser, but there's no reason Adobe should "slip this in" to the installation. Yes, there's a clicked checkbox that I could have deactivated, but I'm guilty (as I expect whoever gets a few microsheckles from such tricks hopes) of jumping ahead to the "download now" button when I think I know what I'm getting.

Now, my question: Apple offers the ability to create a signature by photographing an image. Adobe Reader also enables using a certificate to sign PDFs. Just for fun, I clicked on this option and Reader selected a certificate from Apple. The signature rectangle that Reader drew on my document as I moved my cursor over the "signature" area was then filled in with a long string of characters all unintelligible except for "Apple ID" and "CA" buried in the character string.

Does this really tie the document to me as an individual? Has anyone ever used this feature? Adobe also offers a certificating service online. I expect that costs something, but haven't explored it yet.
