My Canon Pixma is quite a bit older than that but ... does your printer have a second paper tray, or a way to feed longer paper from the back? On mine the similar looking second button selects the paper source.
Do you have the latest driver package for the printer? It should include a setup and troubleshooting routine.

According to the "Getting Started" guide, it is an alarm button. The larger manual can be downloaded from the Canon website. Maybe there is more info there. This button is on the right side of the printer, below the on/off button, correct?
"If the alarm lamp flashes orange, make sure that the print head and the ink tanks are properly installed"

I also found this link that says the number of flashes is a code for what' wrong with the printer.

Hi Barb
I have a Canon PIXMA IP3600 series, which looks failry similar to
what you have.
On this one the Lower button is called "Alarm lamp"
It Lights or flashes orange when an error, such as paper-out or
ink-out, occurs.
If I run out of paper it flashes orange. After reloading the paper
tray pressing the button allows printing to continue from where it
had left off.
regards
George

Thanks, everyone.
So that button had nothing to do with my problem, which appears tone misaligned printer heads. I have tried several times to properly align them, but to no avail. I'm hoping to get some advice from Canon tomorrow.
Thanks!

Is DivX + the app or the format you're trying to convert?
I'd try Handbrake.

I assume you mean MPEG2 (DVD video) to MP4?
In any case, I'd try Handbrake. I don't know if it's faster but it's worth
a try.
