OH Thank you so much, Brent.

After much browsing, I did realize that it is impossible for me to do that. I did use the App Store on my mac which took me to the "Pages" page and it is indeed for 10.7.4 or later.

I appreciate the fact that you not only answered my question but confirmed my suspicion that downloading it as a separate app is not something I can do with my mbp with Snow Leopard.

Much appreciated for dissecting out the issues.

Try contacting the Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775, and see if they can arrange a down load for you, IF you are running 10.6.8. Otherwise your best bet would be to buy a copy of iWorks (9?) on disk, online for about $39, from someone other than Apple.

Brent, I have been trying to find exactly where Apple states these minimum requirements, but have been unable to. Can you tell me where you found this?

The (Mac) App Store/ Pages/ right hand column. If you are on the Apple.com/iwork/pages page, then click Buy and go to the App Store. I think I also found it on another Apple page with Tech Specs.

Ah, found it. Thanks so much. Yes, it is checked.

Look for DEVICES in iTunes window. Not thinking completely today.

Airport Extremes have multiple ethernet ports. Airport Express's have just one, or did the last time I looked.

For security reasons, no, and for ease of operation, no.

On the LAN side of the Airport, you will be behind the Apple Firewall and can easily make any changes to the firewall easily from your Mac.

If you put it on the WAN side of the Airport, you would have to go into the cable modem to check if there is even a firewall and go there to make any changes.

If you are asking this question, it would appear to be beyond your skill level. If you are curious, do a web search for "printers accessible over the internet" and you should find a recent article stating that 86,000 HP printers are accessible. Then do a web search to view unprotected or "internet accessible web cams".

Do you want your web cam accessible to everyone and anyone, or just to you? (Hmm. Ken has just left home, let's go rob him. Or Rob just had a package delivered, let's go grab it, before he gets home.)

And the early Airports, before Extreme or Express, and only one LAN. The OP described it as saucer-shaped, and I had the model I think he was describing.

I'm glad they not have more ports. One less piece of hardware to add into the mix.

You could buy a more modern Airport Extreme Base Station. That would give you more local ports.

I just ordered an Ethernet Switch from a company called Newegg. A lot cheaper than a new Airport. And, to answer one of the poster's questions, this 11 year old (at least) Airport Extreme has one LAN, one WAN, and one modem port. But it's working fine so I spent $22 for a switch.
Thanks all for your invaluable assistance.

I still have my old Pages app but I"m not that crazy about the way it comes up and the way I have to save documents, etc. I'd kind of like to get Pages on my iPad but it's not necessary.

If I got the Pages app could I save them to the Cloud and access them from the iPad? Can I do that now? (I don't think so - not without the Pages on my iPad.) If I get the Pages will it be available for the iPad as well as the Mac or is the Mac app different from the iPad app and therefore another price/cost? Last - is it worth it?

Pages on the iPad is necessary only iff you want to create or modify documents using the iPad.

If you mainly want to *view* documents already created on your Mac, you can do that perfectly well using other apps on the iPad -- Dropbox, GoodReader, Evernote, etc.

Although I did buy Pages for the iPad, I have hardly ever used it, whereas Numbers for the iPad has been a more worthwhile product for me.

Becky, I had to buy Pages for the Mac ($20) and then Pages for the iPad ($10). Buying it for the iPad actually also put it on 3 devices -- my iPad 3, iPad Mini, and iPhone. Worth it to me.

Since the OP got his answer, Tim, can you or someone else answer this for me.

I have made a WinClone of my BootCamp with Windows XP. I understand that OS X has to make the BootCamp partition. I'm running 10.7.5, and as I understand it, you can bring forward a BootCamp partition when you upgrade to 10.8, but you can not do a fresh install of XP into a 10.8.

Let us say that I lost my HD with 10.7.5, and that I install 10.8 on a new HD. Can I install the WinClone with XP into the new 10.8 BootCamp?

My wife didn't have iTunes installed and was using Firefox on her PC, so I had to install both programs, but it synced the bookmarks fine once I imported them into safari. Now that it is set up, she can sync bookmarks whenever she wants. I'll try to get her to use safari on her PC so I don't have to manually export and import from Firefox to safari every time, but no big deal either way. She isn't a power user and isn't that active in saving bookmarks.
I'm glad my idea worked, since I had no way here at home to test it. But someone else pointed out that Firefox has a sync function built in. Has she tried that?
