Following 2 Years of Development, Gesture Recognition for Mobile Devices - Published on 04/25/13

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fernando Correa and Mauro Dimare of Buenos Aires-based Diwit today announce that following two years of development, their gesture recognition technology for mobile devices, AirScreen, is available in the iTunes App Store as part of the new game, Kinetic Defender. For 1-4 players, they must protect the Earth from incoming meteors and missiles, controlling targeting through hand motions tracked by the iDevice's front-facing camera. The app supports AirPlay Mirroring for large screen gameplay.

Buenos Aires, Argentina - Fernando Correa and Mauro Dimare, co-founders of Buenos Aires-based Diwit, today are pleased to announce that following two years of development, their gesture recognition technology for mobile devices, AirScreen, is available in the iTunes App Store as part of the company's new game, Kinetic Defender. For 1-4 players, they must protect the Earth from incoming meteors and missiles, controlling targeting through hand motions tracked by the iDevice's front-facing camera. The app supports AirPlay Mirroring for large screen gameplay, and it is scheduled for release on April 25, 2013.

Feature Highlights:
* AirScreen motion recognition technology revolutionizes mobile device gaming
* Front-facing camera of the iDevice follows the motion of the player's hand
* Single player or multiplayer modes
* Maximum adaptability to changes in lighting
* AirPlay compatible for large screen gameplay
* Share battle pictures on Twitter and Facebook

The idea for AirScreen, the revolutionary motion recognition technology for iOS and Android, originated with the co-founders in 2011. According to Correa, "The first time I played with X-Box Kinect I knew we had to do something about it. No doubt, it was the future of gaming. But it was a future that we felt should be made available to as many people as possible - and that is why we decided to accept the challenge of creating a new technology. To be successful, we realized that it needed to be a software-only solution that would be compatible with most smartphones."

After several false starts, the pair concluded that their goal was not impossible to achieve. "Although both of us had been working in the computer industry for several years, we had no experience in software development for mobile devices and even less experience in gesture recognition techniques. We started to research and test new natural language techniques in frameworks like .NET, Java, etc. This quickly transformed from a hobby into a professional challenge. Shortly afterward, we bought a Mac, an iPhone, and an iPad, and we started working on the early models of the engine. The task was simple: the engine should have as few environmental restrictions as possible. You should be able to play with it anywhere and anytime."

Fernando Correa continued, "With our own funds, we hired an image processing and robotic vision professional to help us transform our idea into a robust, gesture recognition engine that was compatible with the processing capabilities of a smartphone. It had been one year, working in our free time, and we still didn't know if it would be feasible. It was a long process of trial and error, testing various techniques of tracking and motion sensing until we found the right combination. It had been 18 months, but this was just the beginning. Now we had to develop a game that allowed us to exploit the capabilities of our engine."

"With our remaining funds, we contracted InfinixSoft to help us develop a game that met our expectations and made AirScreen shine," said Correa. "That game is Kinetic Defender - set in a futuristic time and played with a futuristic technology. The perfect combination. Without hesitation, we began to work with InfinixSoft to carry out our dream of turning a smartphone into a game console. The process of developing and integrating Kinetic Defender with AirScreen was another six months of hard work. In the middle of this process, we had to start thinking about issues relating to the company, patents, etc. In January 2013 Diwit was created, an Argentinean company headquartered in the city of Ramos Mejia, Buenos Aires. It was created solely to bring AirScreen and Kinetic Defender to life.

"Throughout this ambitious but amazing project, we have grown personally and professionally; we have the highest expectations of both Kinetic Defender and AirScreen technology. It has been a long time since March 2011. The effort required was a lot, but if we look back it was worth the trip."

Device Requirements:
* iPhone 4S/5, iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad (2,3,4)
* Requires iOS 5 or later
* Universal app optimized for display on all iOS devices
* 105 MB

Pricing/Availability:
Kinetic Defender 1.1 is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category for $1.99 (USD). Review copies are available on request.

Highlands Ranch, Colorado - MyVijan today is pleased to introduce iLuv Drawing Vehicles HD 1.01 for iPad, the sixth in its series of best-selling iLuv Drawing apps, which shows kids step-by-step how to draw 20 different vehicles. Unlike most similar apps, it provides a full complement of flexible, accurate, touch-sensitive tools for young artists, including: pencils, crayons, pattern brushes, paint fills, erasers, backgrounds, stickers, undos, layering, scaling, flipping, rotating, and zooming. iLuv Drawing Vehicles is the sixth in the series of highly reviewed apps that include iLuv Drawing Dinosaurs, Monsters, People, Animals, and Santa. The theme of the series is that while drawing a tricycle may be hard, drawing basic shapes is easy. By breaking down each drawing into the basic shapes of which it is comprised (e.g., circles, triangles, rectangles), young artists can, through focus and imagination, create a convincing, fulfilling drawing. Making the process even simpler are the traceable outlines that are removed when the drawing is completed.

Educational Benefits:
* Ideal for parents who are looking for educational value for their kids beyond blank pages
* Kids also learn important vocabulary through friendly audio instructions as they are having fun drawing
* Learning the basics of drawing with many choices compared to any other learn to draw app
* More coloring, decorating and editing choices than any other learn to draw app
* Lot of features: learn to draw; coloring; decorating with backgrounds and stickers; use as a greeting card; or print to hang on the wall
* Building confidence with drawing and art in any age group

Traceable drawing apps for iPad are numerous, but few offer the number of tools and actions built into iLuv Drawing Vehicles. Pencils come in 22 colors and 3 thicknesses; it is a true pencil tool with the authentic roughened edges of a colored drawing pencil. Crayons come in 37 colors and 3 thicknesses; with completely smooth edges, the crayon tool resembles a marker. Also available from the Crayon control menu is the paint bucket fill tool. This advanced tool will automatically, perfectly "color in" any closed figure.

Skills Developed:
* Art and creativity, right brain thinking
* Basic building blocks of a drawing
* Fine motor skills for younger audience
* Following directions to achieve a goal
* Hand-eye co-ordination
* Learn the basic shapes

The pattern brush tool includes 34 different colorful patterns of all kinds, which allow kids to brush in or paint bucket in an eye-catching pattern easily. Particularly useful are the zooming capabilities in iLuv Drawing Vehicles. Using the standard 2-finger gesture, kids can enlarge the canvas to give touch-sensitive tools the fineness necessary for highly detailed drawing, and then return the page to its to normal magnification.

With their vehicle completed, young artists can add a landscape or neutral background (28 available), and they can paste in a graphic sticker like a symbol or text (37 to choose from). Stickers can be positioned, rotated, scaled, flipped, and layered. Finally, with their drawing finished, kids can save it to the app's ringed binder Drawing Book, save it to the iOS Photo Library, share it via email, or print it via AirPrint.

Safe for Kids:
* Does not contain any ads
* Does not have integration with Facebook or other social networks
* Does not contain in-app purchases
* Does not transmit location data
* Does not collect any personal information
* It contains links to the App Store, Rate Now, and Share by Email buttons

"Intimidated by blank pages?" asked Madhavi Sankholkar of MyVijan. "This app is for you! It not only teaches you how to draw and improves your self confidence, but also gives you many customization options to allow your creativity to flourish!"
