The usual way to change the icon of any file is in the "get info" box, invoked with command-I. Click on the icon in that box and then paste whatever icon you want there. May I ask, though, why you really care, as long as it does print okay? As it is multi-function it is both a printer and a scanner, so the icon is hardly inaccurate.

Probably, but you state that it does print okay with the drivers you have, so why do you need the CUPS?

Something is screwed up. Will it become functionally so in future? Hmm...
