Weird.

I just reset Airport Extreme and was able to ignore the double NAT and have it go green.

Now that I know what I'm doing, is it better to have double NAT or "connection unknown"?

As for the Apple TV issue, I took it in, and they ended up giving me a new one. It lost its connection in the store as well.

Thanks for all your help!

Apple DRM books are locked and there is nothing to unlock them that I have seen. It's the stupidest system to buy a book and not be able to read it on a computer.

Agreed.

And you may not have noticed, but this issue has come up here, several times before, for several years.

You basically have two choices, live with it or ask Apple to refund the purchase.

Yes, these messages appear in Mail.app (4.6) on my Mac mini (10.6.8).

As an added data point: these MAY have been the messages I read using my iPhone... not sure.

I get these. They're dated 1966 or something like that. Totally bizarre.

Dave,

I was just trying to clarify that they were on the Mac and so (OS X) Mail.app, which is different from (iOS) Mail.app, as your screen shot suggested.

I don't think I can tell you what they are, but I can possibly tell you what they are not.

You seem to have identified them as from a POP email account. If so they should show in their entirety on the Mac. If they were from a IMAP account they should still show in their entirety. But if you moved them to the Trash, what was not synced with the Mac, they would not show.

When you read them on the iPhone, did you use Mail.app or did you view them by webmail at Yahoo?

Open one up and read the long headers. That will identify them faster than I can.

The date in the screen shot Dave posted, was that they were received in the last few days, not in 1966.

BTW, there was no internet in 1966.

Also know as tethering. It is a way to allow other devices to connect to the internet through your iPhone. Some cellular providers charge an extra few to do this.

But, say I'm connecting to a Mac system 450 miles away. What do I tell them to do, and what do I do, to connect these two macs with me controlling their screen. Honestly, I've never done this before.

Daly, you know Jancie. The first time I used screen share was with her, 600 miles away.

I forget how it was done, but I believe the shared Mac has to turn on System Prefs/ Sharing/ Screen Sharing, and you may or may not need a password depending on how the shared Mac's owner sets it up. No need for a VNC, IIRC.
