Hi Folks,

I have a need to create a number of wav files that would be just a few words long. Is there a way to do so on the MAC?

Thanks,
Tom

I like WaveTap for recording on my iMac. I use Switch to convert to mp3 if needed.

Pat, that is a great article, but it does not explain all the Cloud icons used in iTunes, and I have had some that have been bugging me as to what they mean. I have looked around in the Apple web site and iTunes Help and Tutorials and I can not find their meaning.

I'm using 10.7.5, I do not use iTunes Match, and I use the sidebar. Next to various items in my Libraries, there are Cloud icons to the right. It is either a solid outlined Cloud or a Cloud with grey and white diagonal stripes.

What do they mean?

I have seen them too. They appear on items that originated in the iTunes
store. I suspect in that case, it means the particular selection originated
in the iTunes store and is available to re-download? And the clouds
appearing to the right of the library items indicate some of titles in that
playlist are from the iTunes store and are available to re-download?

That seems correct for the solid outline, except that Podcasts should also have the cloud icon.

What does the diagonal stripes mean, since Podcasts does not have have an icon, it apparently does not mean downloading, since that is about the only one that would be downloading on a regular basis.

Sorry to report that I don't have a clue! I've used iTunes Match & 10.8.3 since both were released.

ClickToPlugin contains a "white-list" feature. I entered "*cnn.com/" in this field and videos on that site play just fine.

>>> Your supplied link has spaces thanks to Yahoo Groups, so clicking on the link (in Safari) takes me to <http://edition.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c4> which is not the video you're looking for I think. That page then takes quite a while to load. The link then becomes <http://edition.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c4#/video/world/2009/03/18/robertson.iraq.medical.break.cnn> and then plays. Go figger eh? Going through the supplied URL and deleting those spaces ends up with the same result.

Tor browser can accomplish nearly the same thing but in the process of protecting you, it disables flash and other things so you'll miss out on a lot of content even though you'll have access to the site. This can be tweaked in the prefs to allow flash, but then you won't be as anonymous.

When troubleshooting Flash Player installed in Safari, one thing I do is check the settings.

Right-clicking on a video frame in a Safari window I get one choice that says "Settings";. This opens some options, the first which is "Enable hardware acceleration".

I un-check this and close the little window. When I open it up again, this option is checked.

Ad infinitum.

There seems to be no change in the video's behavior with this checked or not. (The symptom is that the video does not play.)

How does it behave for you?

Thanks,
Dave
