Convertible, Popular iOS Unit Converter Turns One with Major Release - Published on 04/19/13

Coinciding with its one year anniversary in the App Store, Convertible: Unit Converter version 1.6 adds some unique new features to an application that has caught the attention of many for its original approach to the often unglamorous task of unit conversion.
The most significant new addition is the ability to view and edit a large number of units as "compound units". This allows users to break units into more friendly measures such as twelve feet, six and three quarters of an inch, instead of abstract values such as 12.5625 feet. "The challenge faced with implementing this feature was in maintaining the clean interface that has won so many admirers. I think we've managed to achieve this without sacrificing anything in the process. When a unit has compound values displayed, there is more information on the screen but it's presented in a way that keeps clutter to a minimum and is easy to understand," said Buchanan.
Another new feature is the ability to enter and view some units as fractions. Currently available for inches and ounces, further units will be included in future releases. On this feature, Buchanan acknowledges it's a challenge to get it right: "The fraction edit feature is still in its infancy, in its current form it's there to test the water and see how users respond. During testing we noticed there were many different ideas on how fraction editing should be implemented. It's a difficult feature to get just right and the risk is you end up over-complicating it. The way we've implemented it is very simple, I think people will appreciate what we've done."
There are several other new features including the addition of pressure and power conversions as well as numerous bug fixes and improvements to keep loyal users of the application happy. With close to quarter of a million active users, Convertible has become a popular choice for those wanting more from utility applications than just a plain-looking interface.

WIth a stunning user interface and slick easy to use navigation, managing notes has never looked so good. NotesBox allows users to create their own NoteBoxes, which in turn helps them to organise their notes into more flexible, easy to manage lists.
It's so beautifully implemented, you'll wonder why all apps don't include such attention to detail. On launch the main screen consists of a single NotesBox, the 'Inbox', and a 'Quick note' text field. Tapping in the text field allows the user to immediately start typing a note, pressing 'Done' on the keyboard automatically saves the note to the 'Inbox'. The 'Edit' button at the bottom of the screen offers a menu with a number of choices, one of which is the option to create a new NotesBox. Once a new NotesBox has been created the user can freely move any notes around to organise them in a way that suits them.
NotesBox offers a number of features in version 1.0 including the option to share notes with others by simply emailing them the desired note. Other features include color coding NoteBoxes, rearranging NoteBoxes, editing saved notes and much more. NotesBox also uses Core Data to save users notes ensuring that newly created notes or those that are edited will be saved safely and will be exactly as the user left them on their return.
An infinite amount of notes can be saved using NotesBox and the user is not restricted once the note is saved, in fact all notes can be freely edited and moved around at anytime.
There are literally hundreds of note apps available for iOS and trying to stand out from the crowd and create some originality is becoming increasingly difficult. NotesBox offers something fresh to the App Store and a notes app that many people will enjoy using. The attention to detail and amount of work that has gone into the app is clear to see and the navigation is beautifully implemented.
