Setting up Voice Pass helps in getting through to a human & eliminates having to state your device, serial number, etc.

Well don't that beat all! The author missed the boat on that one and I'd never heard of Voice Pass till now. :)
Thanks

Ok, and how does an Apple Support Profile help you get through the phone menu?
Of the times I have called AppleCare, no one has ever asked if I had one. I still have not figures what it is for, other than a way to access the Apple devices that I have registered with them.

I've become really annoyed with the way Messages works. My wife sends me a text to my iPhone, and it pops up on my iPhone, *plus* iPad *and* my iChat (now Messages) window. Likewise iChats (Messages) from my Mac show up on my iPhone and iPad. Is there a way to fix it so that when I'm at my desk and send/receive a chat, it only displays on my Mac? Likewise IMs from phone to phone stay on the phone? I don't want all these messages on all my devices.

I have been to the Genius Bar 4 times, received 3 new iPhone 4GS, and spoken with Apple Support on the phone once and still have the same problem I started with.
Out of the blue, my iPhone, when using my headset, which I do everyday, started garbling the sound and full of static, additionally the controls on the headset don't work and the volume has to be all the way up in order to hear anything.
When the Genius Bar replaced the 3rd iPhone, we listened to something from You Tube and it wasn't garbled, but as with all the other phones when I brought it home and put my back up info on the phone - immediately it is garbled and full of static.
When the phone is wiped clean and the You Tube tried again it is garbled and full of static.
Do any of you all have any idea what I can do to fix this?
Apple has no further suggestions but to live with it.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Howdy.
Achu, I think the group needs more information from you that could help
find a solution.
Here's some questions.
1. Have you deleted the Final Cut Pro preference (.plist) file?
2. Have you used a utility to delete cache files? OnyX is an example
of a utility to do this and it's available free.
3. Have you booted in Safe Disk Mode?
4. Have you run the Repair Disk Permissions command in Disk Utility?
5. How much free space is available on your main hard drive?
6. Do you have a 2nd hard drive for some of the FCP files as suggested
by FCP requirements? What connection technology does it use if you
have a 2nd HD? USB? FireWire? Other? How much free space is
available on this 2nd hard drive?
7. Have you created a 2nd user account on your Mac, then logged in to
it, run FCP as a test to see if it works OK and does not crash? Many
Mac users will create a 2nd user account and name it"Test" just for
this troubleshooting purpose?
8. Do other programs and applications crash?
9. When things crash/freeze do you get an error message? If so what
is the error message?
Look forward to your response.
Please note that the Thanksgiving holiday begins in the USA tomorrow
(Thursday) and many folks will be away (including me) for several days.
