Rescube: A new puzzle game by Gameshastra - Published on 11/23/12

Gameshastra introduces Rescube: Planet Escape 1.0, its first puzzle game for iOS devices. Gisu is an alien from outer space who gets stuck on the planet Rescube while he is on his way to Earth. The planet is filled with cubes which move in a particular direction only and the player has to enact the role of Gisu's savior by moving these cubes and help him collect the missing pieces of his broken ship. Rescube: Planet Escape features over 50 levels of gameplay as well as a tutorial to get started.
Hyderabad, India - Gameshastra, India's largest gaming Services Company has recently released its first puzzle game based on a character, called 'Rescube: Planet Escape'. The character is an alien from outer space called Gisu and he gets stuck on the planet Rescube while he is on his way to Earth. The planet is filled with cubes which move in a particular direction only and the player has to enact the role of Gisu's savior by moving these cubes and help him collect the missing pieces of his broken ship.
Even aliens need to let off steam, and Gisu knows exactly what he wants to do. What could be better than a whiff of fresh air, the sight of beautiful people, delicious food and the soothing sound of crashing waves after spending months and years in tiny cramped up spaces where the weather never changes? The plan's made, the destination's set, and the ship's on cruise control. Hawaii, Earth had topped the list of 'places to see before you vaporize' and Gisu was done striking off workdays from his schedule dreaming about the takeoff and the place TravAlien called 'a pleasure for all 19 senses.'
Now, the planet was in sight and Gisu could almost taste the cool and delicious pina coladas as he soaked up the sun in the beach. He closed his eyes and let out a sigh, a smile curling on his lips. But suddenly he realized something was wrong! Why was the ship slowing down? He looked outside and saw to his horror that his ship was being pulled down by the gravitational pull of an unknown planet. He tried tinkering with the controls but there was nothing that he could do. He looked on helplessly as the ship veered out of control, plummeting towards the strange shapes that seemed to grow bigger every second and as he lost consciousness, he thought he heard a loud CRASH!
This is where the player finds little Gisu, our latest stranded alien, trapped in planet 'Rescube' with parts of his ship strewn all over the place. All Gisu can think of is Hawaii and his much needed vacation. Gameshastra's latest puzzle offering 'Rescube' places the user in the shoes of Gisu's savior, given the task of helping the hapless alien find the missing pieces to repair his ship. However, the roads to all the missing pieces are filled with obstacles in the form of cubes. The aim is quite simple: Move the boxes and clear the path for Gisu to collect each piece. But, there's a catch.
Firstly, all the boxes do not move in every direction. So, you need to figure out how to move these to your (and Gisu's) advantage. Also, there's a limit to the number of moves you can make at each level. And, the levels keep getting more and more challenging. If you thought that a cute alien trapped in a brightly colored cartoonish planet was a walk in the park, think again; because you will soon find yourself working up a sweat, thinking about which block to move so that Gisu does not get stuck in 'Rescube' forever.
Apart from the challenging format which tests the players' 'little grey cells' the game gives them the option of finding out the minimum number of moves in which to clear the path and the player stands to earn up to 3 gold stars based on the number of moves he takes to clear a level. In addition to this there are 15 achievements to be unlocked, from completing levels to earning three stars in every level. This gives the player bragging rights amongst his peers and competitors via Game center, Facebook and Twitter. So it's safe to put your clairvoyant skills to test and see whether you can think beyond the obvious for greater rewards and satisfaction.
With over 50 levels of gameplay and a tutorial to help you get started, the game's going to demand your attention for quite some time, and before you know it you would want to return to 'Rescube' to rescue Gisu. Get Gisu to Hawaii, what happens next is another story.

Palo Alto, California - If it seems like a new photo sharing app is being uploaded to the App Store every week, that's because there is. This week's newcomer is PhotoFun, the latest iOS app from Latin American mobile publisher Movile.
PhotoFun lets you quickly edit images by adding a frame and personalized caption before sharing it with friends. But before you roll your eyes and groan about another Instagram copy-cat, you might want to take a closer look. While the app encourages you to get creative with your photos, the developers deliberately left out filters. Instead, PhotoFun focuses on the simplicity and, yes, fun of personalizing your photos with shapes, frames, and captions.
Upon launching the free app you'll have the option to either take or upload a photo from your Camera Roll or Photo Stream. If you're taking a picture, you can browse through the different frames and shapes before snapping it. To do so, just swipe to the left, or tap on the frame in the scrolling menu below that you want to jump to. The same rules apply when uploading an existing image. The only difference is that you'll be able to manually adjust your image within the frame - just pull, pinch, or zoom.
PhotoFun plans to add several more shapes but for now you can choose from a star, flower, bomb, heart, butterfly, square, circle, thumbs up, speech bubble, and TV. Once your image is ready, you'll be taken to the caption screen. Here, PhotoFun will provide you with a few pre-installed phrases - which can be sorted through by tapping the "refresh" icon in the left-hand corner - or you can tap on the caption to draft your own.
The entire process can take less than a minute, assuming you're decisive, and is very user-friendly. If you're happy with your photo and caption, you can share with friends via Facebook, Twitter, or email. At its core, PhotoFun is a camera app. Is it the next Instagram? No, and I don't think brands or Facebook will argue with me. But it's entertaining, a little silly, and unique enough to stand out among the hundreds of other photo app options in the App Store.

A series of different witnesses, thieves, crime scenes, and stolen objects create a versatile game that can be solved multiple times. Its stylish graphics and low-key music create a Noir atmosphere, and its playful gibberish language provides a universal feel for all gamers. No reading skills are required to play.
The game's primary character, Detective Walter MacSneak, is a stout little owl sporting a 1940's hat, a tie, and suspenders. He possesses all the owl-like wisdom one would want in a co-investigator, and he is a friendly companion in this mysterious setting.
Between its suspenseful music and illustrations, Wombi Detective creates a "dark and stormy" mood perfect for solving a mystery. It begins when Detective MacSneak's phone rings, and he finds out a robbery has taken place. By collecting enough clues, players follow the path to the culprit. However, it doesn't end there; the case isn't solved until the goods are located.
"This game challenges kids' logical thinking while still keeping it fun," explains Markus Wedenborn, one of the game creators.
It's up to the kids to solve the theft and locate the stolen goods. When they click on the application "notepad," they're able to interrogate witnesses to gather important clues. Using logic, they must narrow down the suspects based on witness descriptions. Players are then given the opportunity to guess who the thief really is. After exposing the guilty party, players locate the goods using flashlights, metal detectors, shovels, and more.
This game contains a range of scenarios and outcomes, so kids can play again and again without tiring of it. Its variety of elements allows room for exploration without getting repetitive.
