Should I go all native, which requires substantially more effort, or should I use a higher level language that may not have the performance or even features required for a smooth user experience? Today, you can have the best of both worlds. With the help of airextensions.net, you will have access to the low level APIs that is part of the device you are developing for.
Currently, we are focused on bringing all of the features of iOS6 to Flash Developers. We've developed many applications and games for iPhone and iPad over the years using a multitude of frameworks, from cocos2d to Unity3D. One platform that we came back to was Adobe Flash because they opened up Native Extensions, which is the ability to run native code on a device. Not only are we able to offload heavy computations, we can now access APIs that was once not available to Adobe Flash.
This is where we come in, at airextensions.net, we develop Adobe Air Native Extensions (ANE) for a variety of native frameworks. At press release, we have iAd, Newsstand, iCloud, PassBook, and GameKit available for immediate integration. These extensions are extensive and complete. For example, GameKit ANE has hundreds of API calls, allowing you to create realtime multiplayer games, turn based multiplayer games, enable voice chat, and leaderboards - all natively, from Adobe Flash using ActionScript3. Yes, In a Row Game is a very popular board game and a paper and pencil game. It is also known as Row Game, m,n,k-game and k-in-a-row- it is so popular that it has at least 24 versions (e.g. Four in a Row, Tic Tac Toe, Connect Five, Gomoku or Gobang and Wu Xi Qi), and they are being played and enjoyed by kids and adults alike all over the world for centuries.
The game of acquiring squares, the Dots & Boxes game, is also famous and loved by many worldwide, especially school kids and parents. Dots & Boxes or simply called Dots is a two player game of getting the most squares by placing line in between dots. This 123 year old classic game was first published in 1889 by French mathematician Edouard Lucas.
Benjamin Buenaventura, the creator of Out-line(TM), who saw Dots & Boxes on the internet after many years, remembered playing the game with a classmate when he was in elementary school, using paper and pencil. "I wondered if I could improve it and make it better after more than 100 years, and that I certainly did - but surprisingly, I also improved the classic Row game, and the best part is I ended up combining two classic abstract strategy games."
Simple tweaks were made to make Out-line(TM) an exciting game, and the one that made the big impact was when each player was assigned to have their own line markers. Players compete to put the most lines or the 4th and final line (if both players put 2 lines) on a surrounded square to capture or own it. These fine-tuning also produces new fun ways of acquiring squares and rows that requires new strategies.

The Vitamin K app allows users to easily find out how much vitamin K there is in over 900 different foods which is critical in helping keep the effectiveness of their blood thinning medications working properly. The foods are rated from Extremely Low to Extremely High in Vitamin K.
Revere, Massachusetts - Indie developer James Hollender's iOS universal app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, Vitamin K, is being upgraded to provide information to users about the harmful, and potentially life-threating, side effects to Coumadin users who ingest any form of grapefruit. A user of the app notified the developer about an incident he experienced some time ago. Research resulted in the following finding: "Grapefruit, whether in whole fruit or in juice form, contains chemicals that can interfere with the enzymes that break down Coumadin in the body. This could cause the drug to build up in the bloodstream, leading to an unintentional overdose of the medication." This is important to know since grapefruit is rated very low in Vitamin K. The revised app with the warning has been submitted to Apple and should be available shortly.
