The first installment was about peaceful islanders who were forced to leave their home island due to a volcano eruption. Now available as a free download, Island Tribe 2 features an all new story, added gameplay elements and improved graphics.
After escaping the dangerous island on a ship, islanders drifted through the ocean in search of a new home. One day they saved a lonely and lost traveler. He turned out to be an explorer who wanted to discover new lands and ancient artifacts. The discoverer had a map with three islands on it. The brave settlers decided to explore all of them, hoping that they'll find a new place to live.
In Island Tribe 2, there are 30 challenging levels set across 3 colorful locations. The paths islanders travel along are filled with dangers, pirates and natural road-blocks. The gameplay is the combination of resource management with hidden object elements.
In order to proceed through the levels players will repair magic totems, find ancient artifacts and drive away wild animals. From time to time the buildings can be struck by lightning, which makes the gameplay more challenging. Island Tribe 2 features two difficulty modes - casual (more relaxed) and arcade (for experienced players).

Scrambler allows users to encrypt their files and folders before sending them to other Macs over untrusted email, instant messaging or cloud-based services. Scrambler resides in the menu bar - providing a small icon in the upper-right area of the screen. To encrypt, users drag files or folders on Scrambler's icon and type in a password via a small and non-intrusive pop-up window.
Stockholm, Sweden - Coding Turtle today is pleased to announce Scrambler 1.2, a major update to their simple encryption app for the Mac. Scrambler makes it convenient to encrypt files before sending them along unsafe places, such as to other Macs over untrusted email, instant messaging or cloud-based services. Scrambler resides in the menu bar - providing a small icon in the upper-right area of the screen.
To encrypt a file with Scrambler, users drag the file on Scrambler's menu bar icon and type in a password via a small and non-intrusive pop-up window. The result is, of course, an encrypted file.
To decrypt the encrypted file, users drag it back on Scrambler's menu bar icon and type in the same password. The result is, of course, the original file.
Users can also drag folders, or a collection of files and folders, on Scrambler - they will be encrypted into a single encrypted file.
Other Features:
* The recipients of one's encrypted files do not have to purchase Scrambler. They can download a free "decrypt-only" version of the app called Descrambler, available from the same developer.
* All icons, artwork, and user interface are fully compatible with the new retina display Macs.
New in Version 1.2:
* A new, vastly more secure encrypted file format that makes brute-force attacks practically impossible (unless the user chooses a weak password)
* The new file format also produces more compact files - about 25% smaller.
* Adds the optional ability to automatically delete the original item(s) after encryption/decryption.
* A few minor improvements and bug fixes.
Technical Details:
* Uses industry-standard tar archiving and gzip compression
* Preserves OS X metadata of the original files, including extended attributes
* Uses 50,000 iterations of the PBKDF2 function to generate the encryption key
* Uses the secure industry-standard AES-256-CBC encryption algorithm

* Encrypted files can, if desired, be decrypted using standard open source tools
* Runs in sandbox mode

"After our first release we listened to the community around the app. We fixed a few small bugs, but thought that wasn't enough. So we've added the most sophisticated sorting available, tightened up the interface, added customizable thumbnail labels, and expanded search to include caption, keywords, date, and filename," says Ash Mishra, CEO of Sarofax.
With the new features, Focus Point ups the game in the premium photo browser category. There's simply no other app that has implemented core browsing features as advanced as Focus Point.
"We take our time to add features, because we want to do them right the first time. This means making sure that we pick the most intuitive approaches, and those that balance advanced functionality with usability. Take for example the new sorting feature, there's 12 metadata properties you can easily arrange using draggable rows. The combination of those 12 properties - ascending or descending in any order - allows several million sorting combinations."
Aimed at amateur and intermediate photographers, Focus Point is the only photo app with dynamically resizable thumbnails, a feature normally seen only on desktop apps. Other photo apps have fixed size thumbnails. With Focus Point, you can just pinch or zoom your fingers, and thumbnails shrink and grow instantly.
The new thumbnail labeling feature allows you to add context to thumbnails - by default showing title, date, or filename. But if you want to review your photos - choose to show exposure bias, ISO, shutter speed, and focal length. You could even choose to show camera model and lens. It's completely customizable, and makes for a great way to review images.
Focus Point continues to offer a detailed metadata view. "There's so many apps that just list metadata detail properties in a list without any formatting or presentation. How useful is that?" asks Ash.
In the full-screen mode, a swipeable panel displays titles and captions, a geographic map in the first panel, the camera settings and EXIF in the second panel, and file information such as the name, size and aspect ratio in the last panel.
Focus Point provides a beautiful minimalist design throughout, with useful features through the use of gestures - from manual slideshow controls that allow swiping back and forth, to the ability to edit captions and titles with dictation. Search capabilities include searching albums by title, caption, date, keywords, or filename.
