I used Switch to convert 2WMA files to MP3. Then I added them to my iTunes(v 11) library.

Then I dragged and dropped the files ... into my iPod in Finder. Now I cannot find it on my iPod; however, when I open my iPod in finder, both the recently converted files show up.

Why can't I see/play them on the iPod?

Thanks very much for your patience and assistance

Why don't you simply have them all in your iTunes library, plug in the
iPod and sync your music from iTunes?

Create a playlist with those two tracks and set the iPod to sync only that playlist.

Then, just sync the category used to tag those spoken tracks. You don't
have to sync them all :-)

There's a basic misunderstanding here. Audio is synced to iPods using
iTunes. If you are using Finder, then you are accessing the iPod's "mobile
disk" space, which is *not* available to the music player.

As others have said, there are many ways of choosing what you want to sync
in iTunes, including a fully manual option. Most, however, use playlists if
they can't, or don't want to, sync their whole library.

A friend loves to listen to BBC programs streamed to her Mac. She wants to know if there is any way to record those for listening later. I don't think there is, but I said I'd ask. Is there a way?

This is what she listens to:

Piezo from Rogue Amoeba http://rogueamoeba.com/piezo/

or its big brother http://rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/

I've been using Audio Hijack Pro for years. Great piece of software.

Agreed.

Bekah, is your friend actually in the UK? I recently wanted to record
a BBC program and couldn't seem to get AHP to do it. I don't know if
the fact that I'm in the U.S. entered into it. I ended up getting a
friend in the UK to record it for me.

BBC iPlayer only allows use from the UK. Something like Netshade http://raynersoftware.com/netshade/ as a proxy will allow you to listen from wherever ypu are in the world.

Where is
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/
from?

I get that (listening now) and I'm in California. I have no proxies but perhaps Safari has something built in? The thing is that the programs are only on for a limited time and my friend would like to record them.

You can do it without an external application, by using Terminal.

Maybe I missed something, but can't you just do this by using Get Info, selecting from the drop-down menu the application you want to open the document, and then choosing whether to have it apply only to the document you highlighted or to all like documents?
