I can see them fine in iPhoto.
When I am in my yahoo.group and I try to upload them I cannot find them on the computer (where the window pops up and you browse through the computer until you find the file they are located in and you choose what files to upload).

Thanks,

Carrie

So I have to take those extra steps and save another copy of them to the desktop before I can upload them from my computer to a website?
Thanks,
Carrie

Do not mess with the iPhoto Library contents or file order, other than to drag a copy of an image to the desktop.

iPhoto is a DATABASE App. All images are stored within one file, so no, you can't easily find the images. The quickest way is to open iPhoto and EXPORT your selected images to a newly created folder on your Desktop. If you had chosen Flickr or Facebook, you could go direct from iPhoto, but you chose Yahoo. So export the images you want to send and then Yahoo can find them on your desktop.

In iPhoto, make an album of your photos, then use File > Export. You then
choose the image size according to the destination (you don't want to
upload dozens of 10 MB files for viewing at a website). The exported images
are placed in a folder of your choice.

Then upload to Yahoo.

Trying to access the files directly in the library is possible but makes
really hard work of it.

Actually, it's a Package, and the folders/files are easily accessible in
Finder using right-click > Show Package Contents, but it's much easier to
use the Export option in iPhoto, as you say.

That makes sense. I don't know why I didn't see "export" when I was looking.

Now I understand the need for the file to be smaller for the internet. I doesn't exactly say what size, just small, medium, large and custom (unless I am looking in the wrong place again). What are the best setting to choose for a file that will be uploaded to a yahoogroup photo album?

Thanks for your help!

From another newbie-type (me), I find that with iPhoto, the only way to move photos around was having an icon on the desktop labelled "Photo inbox" and another labelled "Photo outbox" and then using import and export functions in iPhoto. Any photos that I want to import to iPhoto, (other than direct import from my camera), I first put into the "Photo inbox". Any leaving iPhoto, ( other than emailing directly from iPhoto), I first put in "Photo outbox". It always works.. (Note: How important is this for moving around photos? I only keep 3 icons on my desktop: Photo Inbox, Photo outbox, and the HD.
This is my way of doing it.

There are only three "odd" moves in chess -- knights jumping over other pieces, capturing a pawn en passant, and castling. Even the rawest novice should be aware if them.

I haven't played chess in years, and I had to look up en passant. That is a lesser known move, but I have heard of the no-longer accepted bishop's move.

It depends on the DVD settings when it "played" in your ripper.

If you use QuickTime Player, open the file and pull down the View menu.
There will be the Languages item to choose your playback language setting.

Speaking to my reseller Friday. He said the Apple rep is as tight lipped as ever and he's only aware of the same rumors. He also warned not to assume that the next "Mac Pro" will be an upgraded tower. There has been much speculation that the next "Mac Pro" would actually be in a modularized "mini" format, with modules and accessories connected by Thunderbolt.

For instance, consider the possibilities of chaining eight core CPU modules into multi-module sets, connected to an independent graphics module, a central i/o module, and two RAID modules, all as scalable as you might wish. There is little question that Apple has been considering this model.

Then again, maybe they are just not ready, or they don't think we are, and it will simply be an upgrade tower. ;) We shall see. Chances are good that an announcement will be coupled with NAB which is second week in April. So if you want an upgraded Mac Pro, fast, be ready to drop the big bucks in two weeks for pre-orders. ;)

Cheers,
tod

Howdy.

There hasn't bee a major new Mac Pro tower release in years.

No Mac Pro has a Thunderbolt port.

It's been so long that a number of professional users created a
Facebook group called "We Want A New Mac Pro."

I've been waiting for one for several years and hopefully it will be a
tower with similar room inside for optical and HDs as the current tower.

Very interesting. A modular configuration would be very versatile.

Howdy.

A modular stack of connectable cases has been rumored.

However, you can achieve a similar result now with a card cage device
to hold PCIe cards in a special external case.
