Howdy.
Try enclosing the URL in a greater than and lessor than symbol.
As in:
<http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ >
This often keeps a link "hot" which is as good a term as any other.
I usually put it on a separate line but that's just so if there is a
problem with it it's easier for human eyes to perhaps see the problem
such as an extra space that shouldn't be there.

Once you've pasted the address, highlight it, then click the link icon in the yahoo toolbar and paste the address in there as well. It will be hot then. Otherwise it's kind of a crapshoot as to which ones come through as hot.

Good lord, what a shock. You mean a new version of Mac hardware is going to be released? Who ever heard of such a thing!?

Do you mean that you leave your computer turned on all of the time? What is the best thing to do, turn it on at the beginning of the day and then turn it off when I go to bed or should I just leave it on all of the time?

Hi Nancy,
As a matter of fact I do leave my computer turned on all the time, but that may be a matter of some controversy and I'm not necessarily recommending it.
But that isn't really relevant to this discussion. Your question involved your problem with your computer going to sleep and resulting in a disk error, which implies to me that you are leaving it on. I am just suggesting you change the power settings such that it doesn't go to sleep. It stays awake forever so long as the computer is on. That's the way I have my Macbook Pro set, although it shuts down the monitor after a certain period of time.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Jim

P.S. Wherever you buy RAM, be sure to ask what the maximum amount your computer will take is. (It may be more than Apple originally said was the maximum at the time the computer was manufactured. Larger RAM modules may now be available.)

Thanks David. Your "P.S." was worth the price of admission. It never occurred to me that my MBP might accept more RAM than advertised, but both DMS and OWC confirmed it. I ended up ordering 16 GB from DMS because of your recommendation, and it was a little cheaper than OWC.
Thanks again!

How can I discover if a drive is 7200 rpm 10000 rpm and other such nitty-gritty details about an external USB hard disk? System Profiler gives some details but not these. It gives a serial number and hex values for product and product ID, but these lead to no more info I'm looking for.
Is there a utility that will reveal what I want to know?
Thanks,
Dave
