Ethyl alcohol is C2H5OH, although there are those who think it is really HOOCH.

Cheers (again)!

As a professional chemist I know that what you wrote is formic acid. However, I did get the pun :-)

Tod, hank you for this post. It's a keeper.

I got a Laserscribe drive a few years back, and it stopped burning labels properly. I haven't looked into why because I so seldom burn discs any more. Laserscribe technology seems to have slowed down and not met its original full potential, mainly because other forms of storage seem to have overtaken it.

Stick on labels very bad, especially in the slot loading drives common on Macs.

1) They will, eventually, peel up.
2) When they do, they will ruin your drive.

If you want nice labels, get an inkjet that prints directly on discs and purchase inkjet printable discs. The printer's are general use with a disc tray and can be had for as little as $50. I've always used the Epson's. I like them and the labeling software they come with. Inkjet printable discs are pennies. I recommend Verbatim Datalife Plus, available from Amazon in spindles of 50 for $17.

Personally, I think Lightscribe is a waste of time and money for an ugly lable. Buy a printer or use water-based DVD markers.

Cheers,

I have a recording on my hard drive (iMac - 1007) and want to put it into iTunes in order to copy it onto my iPod (ver 6).

Instructions say to open iTunes, >File>Add to Library .... find file and > ok. So I locate the recording on my hard drive, highlight it and click ok .... can't find it in iTunes. It is an MP4 file.

Any suggestions?

Thanks very much for your assistance, hal

Now to be serious. I found that same problem with the new iTunes 11. The trouble is that only the LIST view will show all the movies. Go to your movies library (whether or not you have chosen to see the side bar) and at the top you will see five choices: unwatched, movies, genres, home videos, and list. When I discovered this problem what got me was that the video (one I made myself, so iTunes called it a home video) was on my iPod Touch, but not on my iTunes, until I realized that there were the choices on top of the movies menu.

I presume you are referring to a video, if it is an mp4.

Are you looking in just the Music section of iTunes or elsewhere. I have had iTunes put MP4 files into Home Videos before now. Try searching iTunes for the name.

You need to convert it to another format such as AAC or MP3. Try MaX.
<http://sbooth.org/Max/>

If it's DRM-protected you can't do this and can only play it on your
computer.

If it is not DRM then look for the add-on either Persian or flip4mac. I'm being lazy one is correct and the other is wrong.

Brent: It's "Perian" and not "Persian."

Apparently I am speed reading again. I don't remember the red comment, Supports 16.0Gb along side the 2.4GHz model. Could be I missed it, or it could be it was not there a few days ago. I'll just guess I missed it, otherwise I would have asked the speed of his MBP.

David, now look down 2 lines on the page.

Funny thing, I just went back a check Jim's posts to this thread. Does he have the 2.4 or the 2.66 GHz model?

Jim, which do you have, the 2.4 or the 2.66?

Do you mean this page?

If so, it specifies that the 13.3" 2.4 GHz model, which I thought the OP mentioned he had, supports 16 GB.

Please ignore my question about "1,7".

I don't think About This Mac gives that information.
