She is a retired Surface Warfare Officer from the U.S. Navy. Laura has coauthored a book chapter, written numerous conference and journal publications. Laura J. White has developed several apps available for download from Apple's App Store.
Janusz Chudzynski is a Software Engineer and iPhone Programmer for the Academic Technology Center at the University of West Florida, where he is continually engaged in the development of innovative applications using various technologies in the support of learning and research in learning. Janusz earned a M.S. in Computer Science at the University of West Florida, and a M.S. in Management and Marketing with a minor in Information Systems from Warsaw University Technology in 2006. He received an Apple Scholarship to attend the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2009. This conference is the most important programming event for the Apple Company. Janusz has also taught several iPhone Programming courses for the University of West Florida. Janusz Chudzynski has developed several apps available for download from Apple's App Store.

What are sight words and why to teach them?
Sight words are words in English language that do not have a simple one-to-one correspondence between sounds and letters - in other words, they have to be memorized and instantly recognized - recognized "on sight," so to speak. In an average, non-technical text, they comprise over 50-70% of total words.
