Hello everyone,
Unfortunately this is the time when I step in as owner of this group. Anyone who defies me will be put under moderation, let's make this clear beforehand.
It is time to stop this thread and move on.
I have a problem with what a few people said in this thread, including moderators.
First, I would like everyone to remember that if you correct others on language, you may want to pay attention to the way you write it. Plain text can sound really bad, not delivering intention as a facial expression can do.
The principle applies to a whole lot of messages. Always remember that it is very easy to interpret text in a way that is offensive.
Secondly, if you still feel wronged, take your complaint private at first. You can reach the moderators at moderators@macsupportcentral.com or you can reach me only at michel@macsupportcentral.com .
Public replies give a better show but they can turn into pissing matches. Not the kind of maturity that I expect of several of you, who are older than me (I'm just 35).
Two notes to moderators:
1- The previous comment applies to you as well. Some of you have been given that status because you have historically shown restraint under fire. If you change, I may have to make my own changes in group management. Let's also make it clear that I haven't yet done so and that it certainly is not my wish.
2- I expect moderators to apply the rules no matter what they think of individual members, not to break the rules call members pedant.

Hi Bill - it might be that your battery is expanding and putting pressure on the underside of the trackpad. Is the any sign of a bulge around the battery area. This was a problem with a MacBook I had. I replaced the battery and the trackpad action returned to normal.

Howdy.
James, do you have some kind of 3rd party or non Apple brand keyboard,
mouse, joy stick, track ball device, some kind of adapter such as USB
to FireWire or something else, some kind of game device connected?

WoW! Randy what a eye opener. I have downloaded MacKeeper and it's sitting on my desk top waiting for me to install it; now I will trash it instead.
Will you post The alternative possibly free utility or will we go to your MacAttorney website to get it.
Thanks Lynne

I'd be happy to suggest an alternate utility if you tell me what it
is you are hoping to accomplish with it. What is it that MacKeeper
offered to do for you that you are attracted to?
It's also important to know which version of the Mac OS you are
using. Lion has a special partition that you can boot into to do
repairs.

Not sure, Otto...
Here's what I see when I connect my 4s to iTunes:
under 'options:'
'Sync with this phone over WiFi' (currently not checked)
'Sync only checked songs and videos' (currently checked)
'Manually manage music and videos' (currently checked)
There doesn't seem to be anything related to document syncing...
Thanks too for the tip about the thumb drive version of Lion for $69. But I seem to recall that at one time you could download it from Apple for $29...or is my memory faulty?

Sandy,
If you click on the tab for apps on the left hand column, you scroll down and you will find a listing of apps that will allow you to sync files. Does this one?
Can you use Dropbox for the functionality you want?

I'm running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on my 2009 Mac Pro, but am thinking of setting up a Dual O/S (Snow and Lion). I'm still using Snow so I can use some very expensive PPC color management programs that I am not quite ready to relinquish. They aren't available for Lion (and won't be).
I'm not sure if it is a good idea to run two different O/S on the same machine. If not, I'll scrap the idea. If it won't create a mess, how would I do this? Do I install SL AND just the PPC programs on one drive, and Lion and the other programs on a different drive? I try to keep most of my data on a separate HDD (though I do have some data on the boot drive, mainly Apple programs that look to the boot drive).
I have SuperDuper and do have a Sandbox drive, and I have plenty of HHDs and disk space. If I CAN set up a reliable dual system without creating confusion or problems, my plan would be to run Lion or Mountain Lion most of the time and only boot to Snow Leopard when I need these legacy programs.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Lou

Snow Leopard and Lion are OK to run as dual boot OSes. Just be sure that
when you set up the infrequently booted OS, you do not have automated
procedures, such as TimeMachine set to run. One drive for SL, one for Lion
is ideal. It works well for me. I run Lion primarily, but keep a second
drive ready to boot Snow Leopard infrequently. There are no automatic
startup programs and TimeMachine is turned off, on the SL system. I have
not had any problems (knock wood!)
