All videos show up in the dedicated Video app (it's a blue, black & white one) on my iPad. Choose the appropriate video type from he selections across the top of the pge.

It is unlikely that a Mini running Tiger can be upgraded past Leopard or Snow Leopard, depending on the model.
There are few Minis that qualify as "Mountain Lion Ready", and I'm pretty sure that none came with Tiger or earlier.

Eeeekkkk Harry, I remember paying around $2500 for the original Mac, not much memory nor HD space. I use to go to a department store near me after work and they would let me play with MacDraw, I was fascinated.

That wasn't just for the PowerMac! There were tons of software packages
and 2 external drives (which were really really expensive back then, the
largest was a 500gb LaCie..huge and expensive!).

My son went to buy a new computer yesterday and after researching prices online, we found that MacMall was giving a $90 discount on the new MacBook Pro - non retina.
So we went there and he bought it - a big first for him, because he's an author and until recently hasn't made much money. Very fun watching someone get a new computer (one that I want, LOL).
MacMall IS different, but we loved the discount!

Yup, they do have good discounts. I just never thought I'd see the day
that an Android device would top their Mac mailing!

There is an application called "dupeGuru" that I have used to find duplicate files on my HD. There are probably other apps but I have used this one and like it. Might be worth your time to run it and see where all the duplicates are located. You can choose what to keep and what to delete if you want, or not. I had many duplicate files renamed, but dupeGuru found them and asked me if I wanted to delete them or not. But it will not delete any file without asking you first.

Looking at the Dock, I didn't SEE BusyCal, so I tried <Command-Spacebar>, discovering to my horror that Spotlight couldn't find it either!

So, I think what happened was actually when I dragged the folder to the desktop I actually created an alias on the desktop and didn't move the original. To get around that, I selected "Applications_

Understood.
By the way you said in a reply to 'ed-reiff' you would try (after backup!) to "delete the aliases one by one". There is, I am absolutely certain, only _one_ alias. The repetition (shown in your '.png') is brought about by the way 'Finder' works in column mode. You could convince yourself of this by setting up the folder arrangement above (ie Folder_1/Folder_

Yes certainly -- a backup with SuperDuper or CCC is the first thing to do.

Running the 'ls' command in Terminal is really very safe indeed and in situations like this usually helpful.

I think (after the backup!) I would first delete the alias and then separate the two 'Applications' folders. You could then decide which set of applications you actually want to keep, or maybe create a new list including all of the applications. Don't do the separation on the Desktop because 'Finder' will surely object to two folders with the same name. Keep the outer Applications folder (ie Applications_
Best of luck with all this.
