As with our other apps, you are accompanied by friendly travel companions Ansel, an intergalactic photographer from the planet Virtoos, and a knowledgeable Virtoosian robot named Clair. Both of these original animated characters were specially created for the touch screen. Together, Ansel & Clair are on a mission to take photographs and document their journey so they can teach their fellow Virtoosians all about Paul Revere and his famous midnight ride.
Meet the brave patriot, Paul Revere in his Boston home, and learn about his career as a silversmith, his famous engraving of the Boston Massacre and his involvement with the secret society called the Mechanics. The strained relationship between the American colonists and the British and associated complex issues of this period are brought to life through fun mini games:
* Toss tea chests into the Boston Harbor or to a hungry shark while learning about the Boston Tea Party
* Drag money bags over from the American colonists to King George III and watch the colonists protest �No Taxation Without Representation�
Who could have imagined that learning history could be so much fun!!
The scene then shifts to the streets of Boston, where Ansel & Clair find a coded message in the form of a Rebus puzzle. Help them decode the message to British General Gage ordering him to capture rebel leaders John Hancock and Samuel Adams and seize the arms that the Patriots have hidden in Concord. Find General Gage and help Ansel & Clair warn Paul Revere who they find at Dr. Joseph Warren�s home along with William Dawes. Have fun tracing Paul Revere and William Dawes routes. Reenact historical events by helping Paul Revere�s friends light the lanterns on top of Old North Church to warn Patriots across the river. And then ensure that Paul Revere safely crosses the Charles River in a boat by wrapping his oars with cloth to muffle the sound of rowing.
Meet Paul Revere�s friend, John Larkin across the Charles River. Decipher another coded message, and voila! John Larkin has a fast horse ready for Paul Revere. Witness Paul Revere ride through the night shouting his warning, �The Regulars are coming�, and learn through Ansel�s questioning, �Who are these Regulars? I thought the British troops were coming�. Witness Paul Revere warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British are on their way to capture them. The adventure continues when Samuel Prescott joins Paul Revere and William Dawes, and they all ride towards Concord to warn the Americans about the British. But, alas! They are stopped by British troops. Did you know Samuel Prescott was the only one of the three riders that night who successfully escaped to warn the Town of Concord?

Star Arcade today announces "Star Battleships" the company's latest social game inspired by the classic Battleships Naval Strategy board game. The game enables gamers in different locations to enjoy real-time gameplay trying to out manoeuvre each other by destroying battleships and gaining competitive advantage. The Star battleships game is played on four square grids, two for each player. On one grid the player arranges ships and records the shots by the opponent.
Helsinki, Finland - Star Arcade, the global leader for multiplayer mobile gaming today announced the launch of "Star Battleships" the company's latest social game inspired by the classic Battleships Naval Strategy board game. The mobile game enables gamers in different locations to enjoy real-time gameplay trying to out manoeuvre each other by destroying battleships and gaining competitive advantage. The Star battleships game is played on four square grids, two for each player. On one grid the player arranges ships and records the shots by the opponent. On the other grid the player records his/her own shots.
Each player secretly arranges their ships on their primary grid. Each ship occupies a number of consecutive squares on the grid, arranged either horizontally or vertically.

This joint venture, known as the Hamilton Wood Type Foundry will see a large collection of classic wood type designs converted into digital fonts. The Hamilton Wood Type Foundry announces the release of its first three fonts- HWT American Chromatic, HWT Antique Tuscan No. 9 and HWT Borders One.
Buffalo, New York - P22 type foundry and the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum are proud to announce a partnership that brings 19th Century ingenuity into relevance with the latest online technologies. This joint venture, known as the "Hamilton Wood Type Foundry" (HWT), will see a large collection of wood type designs converted into digital fonts that can be used with the latest Webfont CSS and Opentype programming abilities for desktop use. P22 is working with the Hamilton Museum and other collections of scarce printed specimens as well as actual wood type to render these classic designs into fully functioning computer fonts, compatible with the Macintosh OS.
Wood type first appeared on the printing scene in the early 1800s. This innovation allowed for letters to be made at very large sizes, previously not possible with metal type. As a result, posters and advertising materials underwent a massive transformation throughout the 19th Century and even more so into the 20th Century. By 1900, The Hamilton Mfg. Co. had acquired most of its competitors in the field to become the largest manufacturer in the world. Over time, wood type for letterpress printing gave way to newer technologies and became forgotten in barns, basements, and curio cabinets. The iconic look of wood type has recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity for its aesthetic that evokes everything from old west "wanted" posters to rock, country and blues music gig posters. However, it's mostly the handmade and hand printed sensibility that holds great appeal as something of a remedy to the omnipresent cold and clean computer design of the last decades.
The inaugural release from HWT coincides with the US Presidential election season. "HWT American Chromatic" evokes classic Americana with stars and multi-color layering options. This highly decorative font set can be used in print and online display for sincere and ironic uses alike. The original design from 1857 was created as a two part font that selectively overlapped parts of each letter to achieve a third color where the inks overlapped. These 'chromatic' fonts are considered among the high points of the wood type era. Coincidentally, the latest introductions of web based typography allows for layering and transparency that directly parallels the innovations of the 19th century...for today's web use.
The latest additions to the HWT collection include HWT Antique Tuscan No. 9- a very condensed 19th century Tuscan style wood type design with a full character set and ligatures, available with a lower case for the first time in digital form, and HWT Borders One- a collection of 80 modular decorative elements from the Hamilton Wood Type Collection. In this physics based game of skill and precision, you must guide your worm through 24 levels of earth and trees, collecting apples along the way and avoiding dangerous obstacles such as birds with exploding eggs, spikes, boulders and swinging spiky boulders.
Collect 3 types of star depending on how you play: collect all the apples on the level, complete within the required number of flings or beat the minimum required time. Simple one finger play action - just pull back and release to fling your worm. It's cute, simple with a slightly frustrating touch to make you come back for more. Fun for all ages, it has being play tested with people from age 6 to 60!
This is the first game release from Future Freak Games, an iPhone version is planned for future release. Worm Food was created using the games development frame work, Stencyl.

"Teachers have been telling us they love Art Authority and want to use it in the classroom, but don't want to worry about inadvertently exposing students to inappropriate content," said Alan Oppenheimer, president of Art Authority co-developer Open Door Networks. "We wanted to be sure we still provided them with a complete historic view in the process. Art Authority K-12 happily accomplishes both goals. Plus it's a perfect fit for the new iPad mini, Apple's least expensive tablet."
Art Authority K-12 is available immediately through the App Store for a special introductory price of $3.99, and will be available through Apple's Education Volume Purchase Program. Details of all Art Authority products and services, including the recently announced Prints on Demand program, are available through the Art Authority Web site.
Art Authority for iPad is the only iPad Reference app to be named to Apple's Rewind 2011 and Rewind 2010 "best of" lists. It brings over 55,000 high-resolution classic works of art to users' fingertips.
