You’d be hard-pressed to find someone over the age of 15 that hasn’t at least heard of Reading Rainbow. The PBS series nabbed over 200 awards in its epic 23 year-long television run.

But despite its popularity, the show was canceled in 2006 due to budget cuts and other factors. The program’s host LeVar Burton, however, was intent on keeping the series alive…(...)

Facebook hires Apple’s UI Design Manager, possibly for a phone project?

According to a new report by InsideFacebook, Facebook has recently hired Apple’s former Product Design Manager Chris Weeldreyer, as indicated by his Facebook profile. Weeldreyer, who has 8+ year experience as user interface design manager, started his new role at Facebook on June 18, 2012.

This gig is another indication that the social networking giant could in fact be developing a phone of its own (here are the mockups)…(...)

WiFi Surface could cost nearly as much as 4G iPad

Industry sources asserted that Microsoft’s Surface tablet will initially be offered only in WiFi version, even though analysts opine that its lack of cellular connectivity won’t be seen as a major limitation.

What could, however, likely be perceived as problematic is the Surface’s asking prices, allegedly set at $599. This would put the WiFi-only Surface just thirty bucks shy of Apple’s 16GB 4G iPad 3…(...)

Study finds that new iPad costs just $1.36 per year to charge

Despite all of the praise it’s received for its Retina display and LTE-compatibility, the new iPad does have its caveats. For instance, it takes considerably longer to charge than both of its predecessors.

The reason for this is obviously because the new iPad has a bigger battery. But surprisingly, it’s still rather efficient. According to a new study, the tablet only costs $1.36 per year to charge…(...)
