Falling Posters features a new concept wherein posters flying across the screen can be nailed by simply tapping on them. The game boasts of two levels. Bangalore, India - After releasing two apps in the past one year, indie developer Kumar Bhaskar releases his third app "Falling Posters" on iTunes app store. With hundreds of thousands of apps available on the app store, the competition to stand out in the top charts on iTunes is getting tougher day by day. In order to stand out amidst millions of apps, it is necessary for developers to attract users by offering apps that are unique when compared to other competing apps.
Falling Posters comes with a new concept wherein posters flying across the screen can be nailed by simply tapping on them. The game uses Cocos2d framework for iPhone and offers excellent gameplay. The game boasts of two levels. The easier level lets users get familiar with the gameplay and the harder one exposes them to tougher poster formations. Poster formations in the harder level are more challenging and at times nailing them is next to impossible.
Players can start off with the easier level to understand the game and master the art of nailing posters. Once familiarized with the game they can then move onto the harder level for serious gaming. This level exposes players to posters flying in and out of the screen in multitude of formations under the influence of normal, reverse and variable gravity.
Falling Posters supports Game Center and keeps track of player scores. Scores can be earned by nailing as many posters as possible. Bonus points can be earned by nailing posters containing Gold Coins. The game has earned good reviews on iTunes as well.

Apple features Montessori Letter Sounds now on available on iPhone - Published on 11/04/12

Les Trois Elles Interactive today announced that their Award Winning phonics app, Montessori Letter Sounds was chosen by Apple to be featured in their New & Noteworthy selection. An ideal app for preschoolers and first graders, Montessori Letter Sounds is itself based on the Montessori Method and teaches phonics, letter sounds, and not letter names. The application is divided in 4 games. Montessori Letter Sounds received a Gold Medal from the Parents' Choice Foundation in September 2012.

Montessori Letter Sounds is divided in 4 games: I spy, Letter Sounds, Mix & Match and Sound it out. When children first login, only two of the games are unlocked. To ensure a good learning progression, children have to earn marbles by playing the sound games before they can move on to harder games.

WordsFlow 1.0 for InDesign - auto-merge Word files for production bliss - Published on 11/05/12

Em Software has released WordsFlow 1.0, their plug-in for Adobe InDesign that solves a major headache in InDesign production. WordsFlow automatically merges changes in placed text or spreadsheet files into already-edited InDesign stories on update, sparing its users the pain, frustration and inevitable mistakes involved in hand-merging changes from external documents. WordsFlow doesn't require any special configuration or extra steps to do its magic, beyond installing the plug-in.
Scio, Ohio - Em Software has released WordsFlow 1.0, their plug-in for Adobe InDesign that solves a major headache in InDesign production: it automatically merges changes in placed text or spreadsheet files into already-edited InDesign stories on update, sparing its users the pain, frustration and inevitable mistakes involved in hand-merging changes from external documents.
In production, the pain points are well known--an author sends a story via email or file-sharing, and it's been placed in an InDesign publication, with typos fixed, formatting changed, text added and deleted, etc. Then, the author or editor sends another version of the file, and expects the InDesign user to figure out what changed, and weave those changes into what was supposed to be the final story.
In the past, the InDesign user might bite his tongue and simply re-place the story, losing all his hard work, then go through and manually make all the same changes made before, hoping nothing's forgotten. Or, he might run some kind of file-difference utility, and go through each difference, manually editing the InDesign story to match. In either case, he ends up wasting a lot of time in a highly error-prone process.
WordsFlow ends the headaches. When a Word (or any text) file or spreadsheet is placed, WordsFlow asks InDesign to keep a link to the file (normally controlled by global preferences).
When the placed file is updated (locally or in a shared-file situation), InDesign will notice that the link's source has changed, and allow update using the usual mechanisms. WordsFlow then kicks in, and, instead of replacing the placed story wholesale, magically merges the changes in the new file contents with all the existing changes to the current InDesign story. So no work is ever lost, and hours of drudgery are saved.
WordsFlow doesn't require any special configuration or extra steps to do its magic, beyond installing the plug-in. WordsFlow works behind the scenes, as part of existing InDesign workflows. Collaborators need no special software or configuration changes-they continue to work exactly as they have.
WordsFlow isn't a filter itself, but instead works with all text file and spreadsheet file import filters. In particular, WordsFlow works with imported Excel spreadsheet files as well as Word files.
David Blatner of InDesign Secrets, and author of many well-known electronic publishing books, is very excited about WordsFlow. In a recent review he wrote:
"I'm trying hard not to type phrases like 'Most useful plug-in ever,' but I have to tell you: I'm sitting here with my mouth agape, heart beating faster, and thinking 'This is what I've wanted for 20 years.' WordsFlow automatically merges changes in placed text or spreadsheet files into already-edited InDesign stories on update, sparing its users the pain, frustration and inevitable mistakes involved in hand-merging changes from external documents. WordsFlow doesn't require any special configuration or extra steps to do its magic, beyond installing the plug-in.
Scio, Ohio - Em Software has released WordsFlow 1.0, their plug-in for Adobe InDesign that solves a major headache in InDesign production: it automatically merges changes in placed text or spreadsheet files into already-edited InDesign stories on update, sparing its users the pain, frustration and inevitable mistakes involved in hand-merging changes from external documents.
In production, the pain points are well known--an author sends a story via email or file-sharing, and it's been placed in an InDesign publication, with typos fixed, formatting changed, text added and deleted, etc. Then, the author or editor sends another version of the file, and expects the InDesign user to figure out what changed, and weave those changes into what was supposed to be the final story.
In the past, the InDesign user might bite his tongue and simply re-place the story, losing all his hard work, then go through and manually make all the same changes made before, hoping nothing's forgotten. Or, he might run some kind of file-difference utility, and go through each difference, manually editing the InDesign story to match. In either case, he ends up wasting a lot of time in a highly error-prone process.
WordsFlow ends the headaches. When a Word (or any text) file or spreadsheet is placed, WordsFlow asks InDesign to keep a link to the file (normally controlled by global preferences)
When the placed file is updated (locally or in a shared-file situation), InDesign will notice that the link's source has changed, and allow update using the usual mechanisms. WordsFlow then kicks in, and, instead of replacing the placed story wholesale, magically merges the changes in the new file contents with all the existing changes to the current InDesign story. So no work is ever lost, and hours of drudgery are saved.
WordsFlow doesn't require any special configuration or extra steps to do its magic, beyond installing the plug-in. WordsFlow works behind the scenes, as part of existing InDesign workflows. Collaborators need no special software or configuration changes-they continue to work exactly as they have.
WordsFlow isn't a filter itself, but instead works with all text file and spreadsheet file import filters. In particular, WordsFlow works with imported Excel spreadsheet files as well as Word files.
David Blatner of InDesign Secrets, and author of many well-known electronic publishing books, is very excited about WordsFlow. In a recent review he wrote:

"I use to sit there saying to myself, 'why hasn't anyone come up with a better solution?'...That's when it hit me!", thought Gupta as he described how he came up with the idea, "People want a complete bedside solution at a price that is affordable. Many sounds to fall asleep to, built in memos to take those notes during the night, a calculator to do some quick math and big bold numbers so that the clock can be seen easily in the dark."
Just recently Apple launched its new iPad Mini and has shown no signs of slowing down yet! With the big Christmas rush many people will be heading to the malls to purchase the latest iPad as well as many new apps for their new devices. Apple has already sold 100 million iPad units to date and with the Christmas season right around the corner that number will just keep growing.

More than a book about the eponymous, Brazilian, treetop hotel in the rainforest that attracts visitors from around the world, Principe's book is about the widest range of emotions elicited by seeing the smallest and largest plants and animals revealed so as to emphasize their cooperation, integrity, and essential niche in the local ecosystem. On every page, the book elicits wonder, oneness, intimacy, grandeur, awe, love, appreciation, and tenderness, as it juxtaposes magnificent photography with text descriptions of the Amazon experience. On-location videos contain moments of still photography, heightening the dramatic effect of the live image stream.
The app includes a 15-minute documentary made by Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of the famous oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau, who inspired Ariau): An Overview of the Amazon from Origin to Wonder of the Ecosystems.
The ebook features an ergonomic design, which allow all aspects of navigation to be achieve using the right or left thumb. Scrolling, panning, page turning, opening particular pages is all simple and intuitive. The ebook's world-class, nature photography is a small part of the photographer's larger project, the 25,000 selected RAW images of Amazon Stock Photography, a file to describe the region as a whole, its strangeness, landscapes, flora, fauna, indigenous and folkloric context, and ecotourism. Photo enthusiasts may view the metadata for each picture: lens, speed, camera, f-stop, time, location, etc.
Elegant in its presentation, the eBook features large blocks of empty white space with poignant photos and poetic text appearing in quiet and dignified contrast. The interactive features add new levels of enjoyment, as readers/viewers can drag photos to reveal wide, full-screen panoramas, slide shows are activated with a touch, and users can drag each page vertically or horizontally to reach new content.
