Kids make their own pizza dough, and knead it into a variety of shapes. Young chefs fill pizza orders, adding optional toppings, by referring to a thumbnail of the finished pie. Coming out of the oven piping hot, their custom made pizza is ready to eat or save as a photo.
Sophia-Antipolis, France - A&R Entertainment today is pleased to introduce Pizza Factory for Kids 1.0 for iOS, its free game for kids 2 and older, where they learn to prepare all the ingredients that go into a pizza and all the steps necessary to make a custom pizza ready to go in the oven. Kids make their own pizza dough, and knead it into a variety of shapes. Young chefs fill pizza orders, adding optional toppings, by referring to a thumbnail of the finished pie. Animated arrows are the only guides in the app; there are no instructions or narration. While the ingredients for pizza dough (flour, oil, water, yeast, and salt) are all in labeled bowls, there is no reading required. Arrows scan down the ingredient list and move from bowl to bowl. All the steps involved are also indicated using arrows that let kids chop, slice, knead, stir, pour, and roll out. Kids can check their progress on a horizontal thermometer indicator, but there is no clock and speed does not affect scoring,
Incorporating an unexpected amount of detail, kids use a rolling pin first horizontally then vertically, again and again, as the dough slowly assumes the proper shape and thickness. The app features custom shaped pizzas like hearts or fish in addition to the normal circular pies. Kids will also cut vegetables before using them to prepare the pizzas.

Pizza Factory lets kids add different kinds of peppers, fish, tomato, calamari, broccoli, egg, onions, olives, mushrooms, pepperoni, gummy bears, chili peppers, ham, and more.

Panoramic Software Inc. introduces Animal Rescue 1.0 for iOS. Animal Rescue is an addictive puzzle game that is suitable for all age groups. In Animal Rescue, players move blocks around the game board in order to clear a path for the Animals to collect a star and escape with points. The new version adds the clock test for cognitive screening on the iPad, and for all iOS devices an additional rating scale, the CAGE questionnaire for identifying alcoholism.
Lethbridge, AB, Canada and Menlo Park, California - Version 2.0 of Mental Health Scales is now available in the iTunes App Store. This app, developed by Carol Peyser, M.D. and Apps & More Software Design, Inc., provides the health care professional with a comprehensive set of mental health rating scales on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The new version adds the clock test for cognitive screening on the iPad, and for all iOS devices an additional rating scale, the CAGE questionnaire for identifying alcoholism.
The app automatically determines the type of device on which it is running and presents the appropriate user interface and test selection. The simple interface and security features give the clinician the option to hand a client the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to perform a self-reporting scale or the clock test while being observed.
Having a client draw a clock face and indicating a specific time has long been a standard tool in cognitive screening. With this new version of Mental Health Scales the clinician now has the option of having the drawing done directly on the iPad with finger or stylus and having a conveniently available history of previous tests for quick comparison, complete with assigned scores.
The newly added CAGE Screen is a four item scale that has been extensively validated for use in identifying alcoholism.
The existing suite of scales provided are: PHQ-9 (self-rated depression scale), GDS (geriatric depression scale - short form), GAD-7 (generalized anxiety disorder screening which can also be used to rate symptoms of anxiety in other disorders), ADHD-SRS (adult ADHD self-reporting scale), AIMS (Abnormal Involuntary Movements Scale - quick screening for tardive dyskinesia that can document absence of, progression or regression of abnormalities), PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and BMI (Body Mass Index + Waist Circumference) for monitoring the effect of medications. These scales are well-validated and can be easily and efficiently used by physicians, nurses, therapists and others in the helping professions. Scoring is automatically done for all scales and a complete history of results is maintained for each client.
According to Don Hall, president of Apps & More, privacy remains a key feature of the app. Accessing test results and transferring them from the device are completely under the control of the owner.
