Would someone be kind enough to share their experiences with Apple TV? Is it easy to set up? Was there anything else you had to buy? Did it allow you to down size your cable subscription?

My experience with Apple TV has been completely positive. Set up is simple, but you do need to buy an HDMI cable. I have a friend who cancelled his cable subscription completely after installing the ATV & a Netflix subscription, but I haven't taken that step yet.

I think a component cable works as well. We use an HDMI cable now, but didn't used to.
Very easy to set up.

Howdy.
If all of your TV components including DVD player, Set top box,
AV/Receiver/Amp, TV, and other devices, have HDMI, then you should use
HDMI.
HDMI carries both audio and video and current full bandwidth which
other types of cables can't do.
Component cables can not achieve the same quality of audio or video as
HDMI and you will lose things like DTS audio, etc.
If you don't have 5.1 or 6.1 surround sound speaker systems, or, a TV
capable of 1080p resolution, then the HDMI cable will not be necessary.
HDMI cables need to be decent quality or they can be troublesome. They
are also irritating because HDMI has some anti piracy technology built
in which will occasional cause problems even when you are trying to
watch a video your rented or purchased.
You can also use very long HDMI cables. I have one in my house going
from basement floor den up to the 2nd floor kitchen to a wall mount
TV. It's 45 feet long. However, the first HDMI cable would not work
and drove me nuts until replaced.
If you have concerns about quality cables, I recommend an online
company called Blue Jeans Cable.
<http://www.bluejeanscable.com/ >
Blue Jeans Cable specializes in quality cables and has good tech
information on their web site that helps explain what different kinds
of cables are good for. It's a good place to learn about cables.
In addition, Blue Jeans sells a number of cable products that are
manufactured to the old Belden standards that were employees by
companies like the old Ma Bell in North America for telecomm products
made to high standards. Belden still makes high-end products for
commercial use and certifies many of their products.
Good luck

When opening iTunes app it takes over the entire screen. It's like what Spaces do, but I didn't chose to view iTunes as a Space to itself. Anyhoo, the menus are gone, there is no mini player available. It's one big fill screen.
Want back to iTunes working as a regular app in regular windows reducible to mini player. How do I get there?

has no effect. iTunes takes over the entire screen, but I can take my cursor and swipe into the left side to Dashboard, and back, but cannot get to the desktop. I have to quit iTunes to get to desktop.

there is no window, iTunes takes over the entire screen, so there are no colored buttons at top or top of any window.

Nevermind. The window menu has started dropping down from off the screen now so I can get out of full screen mode. Have no idea why this started.

Howdy.
It's a feature not a bug.
You've run into the full screen feature that I think was introduced in
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and continues in OS X 8 Mountain Lion.
To turn on full screen in some applications you should note at top
right corner of the iTunes window a double arrow angled at 45 degrees.
Click the double arrow to turn on full screen.
Ah, ha! no menus, no Finder, etc. How to fix that?
To return to regular iTunes window run your mouse arrow to the very top
of the screen, pause it there for a fraction of a second, then the Menu
bar should appear.
The Menu bar will have a new addition. In the far right corner is a
blue rectangle with the same 45 degree angle double arrow. Click the
blue rectangle and your full screen iTunes app window returns to normal
size.

Applications in Full Screen Mode have no "green traffic light".

Okay. It works for me in Mail.
In iTunes, I guess you have to remember <Control><Command><f> to get out of Full Screen Mode.

The thin one that when I move the mouse to the top right corner it'll show the thin bar that allows me to maximize the window. It also has the time and battery percentage in it.
Is there a way to make that bar show up all the time instead of only when I point to it?
Thank you for your help!
